Thanks to the commenters who corrected me! It's a GOLDEN EAGLE and not a hawk! I appreciate you!

👍How to be a respectful visitor to these places👍
Native American groups still live in this area and beyond today. These places are still special and hold significance.
1️⃣Don't climb on walls or structures. Don't lean on or climb over them. Many places don't even need to be visited up close. View these places from a distance or with binoculars.
2️⃣Do not touch the rock art. Don't touch or create new rock art to preserve ancient stories.
3️⃣ Leave All Artifacts. Leave artifacts and structures undisturbed to maintain their historical significance. It is illegal and wrong to take artifacts. If you want something to take home, support local tribes by buying their handicrafts and jewelry.
4️⃣ Manage Waste Responsibly. Use waste bags; don't leave human or pet waste behind. Don't 'go' near cultural sites.
5️⃣ Camp With Care. Don't camp near historical sites. No fires near these areas, and ensure all waste is packed out. Don't make fires in caves or alcoves. Camp in designated spots only. When you leave, make sure to make the site cleaner and better than when you found it. Pick up extra trash you may see.
6️⃣ Control Your Pets. Don't let pets roam freely near archaeological areas to prevent destruction. Pets are not allowed in or near sites.
7️⃣ Preserve Fragile Areas. Don't disturb fossils and please protect delicate soil and plant life.
8️⃣ Follow Rules. Don't engage in illegal actions such as building cairns, or using climbing gear to access archaeological sites.
9️⃣ Obey Drone Rules and Laws. Numerous locations in the American Southwest and beyond, such as the Navajo Reservation, Wilderness Study Areas, and various restricted spaces, enforce strict drone usage prohibitions. It is crucial to not only honor the legacy of the people who once inhabited these areas but also show respect for the present-day residents and adhere to their local laws, customs and regulations.

NOTE: I don't claim that I am the first person to "discover" these places. I just find things on Google Earth and want to go see what they are!
I do not claim to be an expert on anthropology, geology, or archaeology. I say that my channel is about "amateur archaeology". I don't have a degree or formal training in archaeology. I am just a hiker who loves to explore and see new things especially the ancient history in the American Southwest. This is what my channel is about. I hope you stick around and explore with me!
I do not give out locations to the places in my videos. I take seriously the responsibility to protect and respect these ancient places. If you do find/visit one of these locations, please visit respectfully. I try my best to hide noticeable landmarks, mountains, and canyons in my videos.

This old game warden is 100% sure it was a golden eagle.
Yes, I saw one a few days ago. 👍
Ayep
100% Golden indeed. Makes the video even cooler.
And that was a mating pair, I'm sure. Just caught both of the parents home at the same time.👍
Wow!!! That’s so cool!
"Hawk" is a golden eagle! Wow
I was very wrong on this! haha Thank you!
Close ups of architecture and wildlife- score!
yeah, this kid is good
Beautiful Golden Eagle!!!!
Brave Mama and Daddy eagles protecting their babies from something that was probably very scary.
That is a golden eagle, not a hawk. They are at least twice as big as an average red tailed hawk.
I got to see one fairly close up while fishing in northern Ontario. After having seen tons of bald eagles all week, it looked like a freakin' monster as it soared on by us, about 30ft up from the water. Absolutely glorious.
*Love the AI recreation of the stone building!*
Yep confirmed it's an eagle. Awesome catch!
@@1nvisible1 It wasn't AI. it was done by hand with photographic software. Maybe Photoshop?
Definitely going to update the title now! haha thanks for the clarification!
How wonderful that the Golden Eagles wanted to protect their eggs or hatchlings from the all seeing eye of the drone. Nature is so marvelous! That ledge with the rock building looked very hard to have gotten up to. Thank you for sharing your video with us all.👍😀👍😀👍
I don't think they cared about who looked, as much as "What the Hell are you doing over our airspace?" And they didn't break off the Golden Eagle attack till the skies were free of intruders!
Love the wildlife encounters part of these treks. They add that "feeling there" to the videos.
I think the whole point of building shelters in those inaccessible cracks was that enemies would find it very challenging to get to their families!
@@joycebrewer4150 : yes I agree with you but imagine trying to keep a young child from falling, that would be extremely challenging especially if they had a very hyperactive kid like my son was.
This isn't a Hawk. This is a Golden Eagle. Hawks are much smaller and do not nest in pairs. Eagles mate for life. Good drone footage. Wonderful seeing a healthy pair of Golden Eagles in the desert.
Pretty amazing. That footage of the eagle felt like it was looking straight into my eyes. The ancestors are among us.
That was a golden eagle!
Your reconstruction of the building was great!
I would love to see a collab with you and desert drifter, I know you inspired him and you guys together could tell such a great story of your find!
I agree. I think you two would have fun together.
Loved seeing the birds! A plus on top of seeing the ruins.
Outstanding Jeff. One of your best videos. Beautiful scenery and very cool hawks ❤ 👍
Thank you for watching! 🙂
Oh! I also like how you recreated the structure!
Truly amazing! This treasure hunt paid off. Thanks for taking us along. Those eagles were an extra treat!
Wow! Seeing those hawks was a treat. I love seeing the wood that survives with these structures, awe inspiring longevity.
Those were golden eagles, way bigger than any hawk living in the area!
Wow they did not want the “intruder” near their nest. That was incredible. Thank you for sharing. Blessings
Hey buddy we watch you all the time and we try to watch the videos always all the way to the end and like them too
👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you, Jerry! That means so much to me! 🙂
🦅🦅 + incredible ancient ruins, WOW !! What an amazing adventure 😎💖
Simple and beautiful structure. Peaceful music ❤️ One of your #1 fans here 😃
You're the bestest!! It was so fun to watch the premiere together🙂Thank you honey bunny boo boo
Really enjoy these adventures! Keep it up! ❤️
Thank you, Jeff, for the wonderful video again. I always enjoy them. ❤
Thanks Jeff
That was an incredible video .
Thanks for sharing.
Great Ruin - Fantastic Drone Views and Eagle Attacking Drone - wow - this Segment was Exciting - Good One Indeed ! Thanks You and many Cheers from Australia !!!!
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching! 🙂
AWESOME!
It's so great that you appreciate your viewers input as much as we appreciate your adventures! That golden eagle footage was great.
Captures my imagination. Thank you so much.
What amazes me in all these impossible dwellings in the cliffs is that you have to know these people are there and you have to know the code to get up there. These could be dwellings where they stay for a while and gather certain foods or game but to lug it up and store it just seems magical because it just befuddles my mind the hard work it took to survive back then, makes me appreciate everything got now because it didn't come easy. Great adventure and I loved it. :) :)
Wow, unforgettable experience with those hawks! I love the ruin recreation, even with the "inaccurate" ladder. It's fun to imagine what things used to be!
More fun!!! Thanks Jeff…for taking me places I’d never get to go….
Excellent. The re-build software was amazin
Seconded this, he needs to do this with all the ruins! It’s fun to speculate.
I will be doing this more often! It may not be 100% accurate, of course, but we can at least get an idea! Thanks for watching
Thanks for another great video. It gives me the opportunity to see parts of our beautiful country that otherwise I could only wish I could visit. The Big Bird visit was quite interesting. Stay safe and God Bless
Your drone ability far exceeds other people's. I love your programs for evaluating the rock art and ancient sites.
My favorite hiking creator by far.
Amazing the eagles wow thanks for always sharing incredible footage of these ancient places. ❤
Great spotting!!! Hawk/eagle eye Jeff!!!! Love the recreation of what it might have looked like! Great video! Terrifically done, art! Amazing to see, and this might be a way to do more exploring without heat exhaustion this summer. Thank you!!!!
Another great adventure! Thanks for taking us along.
Golden Eagle ! 🦅 🤍
Once again marvelous tks
Another fun adventure. That drone is pretty resilient. I'm surprised the hawk didn't destroy it.
I love going on these expeditions with you. Thanks.
Wow what a beautiful scenario, its also great you listened to your intuition.
Great message 👍
Now to watch ❤
Jeff, great channel. Just keeps getting better. Thank you.
Thank you kindly! Thanks for being here with me!
Your drone skills are next level! Kudos.
Thank you for being respectful not just of the land, but also of the air space.
Crazy but worthwhile. An amazing ruin.
one of your better videos.... BRAVO!!
Thank you, Victor. This was a fun adventure for me and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Great find! There are more “eagle eyes” out there than just the birds. Thanks for doing the possible reconstructing. That really adds some context for those of us that have difficulty visualizing. Good job!
Magical Mystery Tour…
Great job on the reconstruction - you have a good eye and your interpretation will be much closer than anything I could imagine.
What an adventure. Your eyes are way better than mine. And golden eagles to your adventure! What a great day you had.
Totally, absolutely awesome!
I love everything about this channel brother! 💓👍🔔
Thisnis probably my favorite video to date. That eagle was amazing.
My first trip with you. Love the camera angles exploring! Thank you.
Fantastic! Thank You. The hawk footage was a special treat!
GREAT VID !! LOVED THE RECREATION !!
BE SAFE, KEEP ON TREK ' en !
Another great video Jeff. I don't know what was more amazing, the ancient ruin high up a cliff or the Golden Eagles attacking your drone (probably protecting their nest). Keep up the good work. 👍
Always a pleasure !
Thank you for advocating the protection of these places, and for being considerate of those protected Golden Eagles! What an interesting and unexpected adventure!
You were doubly blessed. The ruins are a treasure, but protective birds of prey are messengers from God. You gave everyone the message for people to look and appreciate from a distance, but do not disturb. and be careful not to leave your prints at or on these ancient sites. Thank you for this video because it is x-tra special. Happy your drone survived the wings of protection.
That was cool, thanks!
I find it amazing that people living in cliff dwellings raised children in such a precarious location. It really makes me wonder about the nature of the threats they faced. It also makes me entertain the idea of dinosaurs and giants. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Loves seeing the Hawks. That was quite an adventure. Thank you Jeff.
Wow!Really cool! 👍🥳🌷
OMG that hawk looked magnificent in attack mode. How many people can say they've even seen that from that angle up in the air. Thank-you so much for sharing! Love your work, Jeff.
Another great one!😊
Thank you for sharing 2 in one the beautiful ruins and the hawks❤.
Great no damage to the drone. Brave eagles going beast mode. Thanks Jeff.
Another great trek Jeff, and a special one with the surprise ruins find and the eagle attack! Thanks!
We 2 went climbing in area we hadn’t climbed in a long time. Even before we reached the area we got buzzed by falcons, also protecting its nesting site. My climbing partner had his material hat whipped away & while we were climbing the birds kept on attacking us. We completed the climb under a lip which brought us out on a shelf then the top. Well, were attached once again. Thank goodness we had the hard shells of the climbing helmets as the birds knew that was the vulnerable spot!
Thanks for the show, also good.
THose eagles were fantastic! And so was your computer recreation. I would love to see more of those.
The eagles were a wow moment! Another wow moment was you using your new software to “rebuild” the structure to show what it could have looked like, very cool Jeff!
What a great eye you have! Loved the video and thank you for sharing!
Oh wow😍such an great video. Thx❤️👋🇫🇮
Great adventure
Another amazing discovery. Loved your imagined rendition of what the structure might have looked like. Do more of this!!?? Glad you didn't lose your drone to the Golden Eagle pair, and that you showed the respect to back it off and away from their territory. Seeing the raptors was amazing in itself!
Great having wildlife and ruins. Thanks for the video.
Absolutely awesome video!
WOW! The Golden Eagles were as neat as the ruins!
Thanks! A fine adventure.
Thank you kindly for your generous direct support of my channel!! I’m glad you enjoyed this adventure! :-)
-Jeff
Wow such photo getting, thanks for the history and wildlife encounters
❤ Thanks. That cliffside looked very promising for additional former dwellings, like in the center at 6:35. But thank you so much for caring about the eagles! Maybe go back another time.
That hawk attack was so cool.
Good hawk parents.
Thank you again for sharing your adventures.
Full screen I watch these adventures. The hawks were like crazy. Protecting their area from noisy drones.
Cool! Both bird attack and dwellings. Glad your drone is ok.
The eagles in flight were a bonus!
That was so cool! The eagles and then your digital reconstruction of the ruin! Fabulous! Thanks.
Definitely always an adventure!
You get to keep more than you may realize, you get your own personal view into these ancient people's lives and how they lived... To me, thats pretty special and not something many get.
Love the reconstruction. Keep doing that.
Spectacular ruins--great find! And I absolutely loved the unexpected hawk (or golden eagle) encounter. Lol
I was wrong (which happens very often LOL) about it being a hawk!
Thank you for this incredible video. The digital reconstruction is fascinating! Please make more of those 😊
Wow, amazing ruin! And FYI: I believe those were golden eagles. Incredible birds!
Loved the video, Jeff. Glad you didnt lose your drone. Keep up the great work!
Thank you.
Awesome shots of the birds!!!
wow what a great vid! love this channel!
Excellent Jeff! Wonderful Archaeology, thoughtful graphics and Golden Eagles being suitably territorial. Here in Australia we have one of the world's biggest Eagles, the Wedge-Tail, and my brother experiences similar dive-bombing action when he flies his big bird shaped kite. Beautiful video thanks
