I remember I showed this to my sister and she was laughing at this. I love watching this show for the performances. Never expected this to be featured, but that's 90s for us kids. It was nothing but sex topics on the radio at that time.
The censorship was REAL with this performance, LOL, you could see the eye-roll moments he had when he realized how many times his soul died having to tone down the lyrics, hahah!

Jon B had a R&B swag that could make a lot of black dudes jealous...and he probably did.
This backingtrack is really strange. At 2:55 they left his leadvocal in at the end of the chorus, so he had to adlib over it. Then at 4:35 there's a weird skip / cut after "desire", then at 4:43 they decided to take out all of the backingvocals that make up that signature part of the bridge, leaving him on his own. Now that's understandable for the first two lines "I'll touch you in the places where no one's been before / I'll kiss you in the places where men sometimes ignore", but lyrically the last two lines shouldn't be a problem. Then he skips the big climax of the chorus LOL. This live version is all over the place. But damn, Jon sure was fine. I had such a big crush on him.
You were waaaayyy too invested in the mistakes....good artists know how to adlib, switch up, change lyrics, etc.....he did just fine with the changes
