Brilliant video. Quick, complete advice and smooth presentation. I feel I’ve been introduced to the very best options out there. And not only that, I also got a test drive. You’ve saved me so much time and effort and I can’t thank you enough. Checking out your other content and subscribing.
The reason I stop using Adobe acrobat reader, is that they almost make it impossible to turn the view, which is something so simple it should be standard. It used to be an option in the view tab (both directions). Now it is only one direction in the context menu. Super annoying when dealing with drawings. So thank you very much for sharing. I just installed Sumatra which I already like, very simple very compact and with both the CW and CCW view rotation option in the menu bar.
Thanks for that, I've been looking all day. Found a few online that I thought had worked then they wanted me to subscribe if I wanted to download the result. When you mentioned Libre Office Draw, which I already had downloaded, problem solved. Thanks a million.😀
Super vedio work... , clear video, well explainedand clear voice.. One of the bestnuts and bolts video pictures I have seen on the internet (since 1997) . Well done ....Well said. I will check these out Thank You - LK .
Thank you very much for introducing LibreOffice draw and sharing what you have learned. Your video answers my question about PDF file editing for free. Thumbs up 👍
When it comes to editing a PDF I have had some success using Libre Office Draw. Its a little quirky at first but after you get it down works great. It will open a PDF and save it as a Draw file for easy modifications and it will allow you to export to a PDF. One other plus its free and works great in Linux.
Thanks to you, Adrian, I learned today of Okular. Definitely, in my view, the best PDF reader and editor. Besides it loads PDF files real quick. Very neat software.
If you are doing a lot of document scanning. Acrobat is the best for Batch processing from my own experience in production work. If you're doing little scanning any pdf apps that supports scanning will work fine.
This was really awesome. Draw was really helpful for me as I was not able to edit a 217 page pdf , this was very simple with the option of find and replace all as I had to replace one wor draft from all 217 pages.I am using Sejda, but it does not support more than 200 pages. I used I love pdf as well, but it does not have option to replace all. Awesome Adrian, thank you very much
I use Acrobat Pro 11 (stand alone) to do scanning of documents to save as a PDF (smallest file created at time, very compressed). I have also use the program to scan forms to create editable documents. As you mention it can be pricey and they don’t offer stand alone version anymore I believe. I have not found any alternative that works as good as version I am using thus far, but no further updates it is so old. Should you have other software options let me know to check it out. I am using an Epson 4400 scanner for the documents and it does a good job directly from within Acrobat Pro to do a custom scan and from there it will bring up the Epson scanning software interface. Thanks for the video!
great video mate. cheers. do you know of any PDF readers that enable menu's options/ allow you to click to a certain page number? I ask because .... I currently have an APP that is too expensive to maintain...so I was trying to see if there is an interactive PDF reader on phones that can take the APP's place? any tips/ ideas? cheers. ro :-)
Great video! I absolutely did not know Draw would work with pdfs. @Micheal Wright , finding a good solution for working with scanned documents would be great also. We have a lot of old scanned documents at work that could use touching up without having to completely retype them.
i like libre...but it has a problem with selection i want to select only images and delete certain thing....its just so hard to do it in that app...i cant find a good free one..i found wodershare pdfelement but the water mark ruins it
Thanks for a very good, informative video. I use Nitro pdf (a paid, but very solid program that makes it essy to merge pdfs and edit in other ways). I might try Libre Office Draw now. Thanks again.
Hi @adrian i run a documentation services and here is my issues. 1i have just a max available space of 2mb to upload on the site wether i have 30 documents or just 1 i have to fit it into 2mb. All of these documents are mostly PDFs files i need to convert to picture format reduce the size till all 30 docs fits into 2mb space upload i have. Q. How do i make my job easier amd with what tools ? Any fast and user friendly conversion tools to help migrate a large pdf docs to pictures format?
One of the things I do a lot with a PDF editor is extracting a range of pages to a separate document (fat 19th c. book from Internet Archive: take out a chapter and distribute it to a few people.) Does Draw do that? I find PDF-XChange Editor is good for that, and a lot of other things I do (like putting comments on a PDF), even though the interface isn't the prettiest; the free version is good enough for my needs. Windows only, but.
If I understand correctly, it does but not as cleanly as PDF X-Change. You would have to print the document. When the print screen comes up, (im assuming you are on a windows device) select Microsoft Print to PDF. Under that you can select your range and then click print. Save it where you want.
@@AdrianReddix Ahh, nifty. I had a quick look, and I think LO Draw looks great for PDFs created from a file, so you have the text incorporated in the PDF: I mostly work on PDFs created by scanning from old books (out of copyright versions of texts I want), and it doesn't look quite as convenient for that. But it would be great for in the office, whether that office is Libre or not (most aren't). Thanks for the info.
@@michaelwright2986 That's good to know. I didn't think of scanned text and how that would fair in the programs. I appreciate the experiment. It really got my gears turning.
Thank you immensely Adrian! I tried further after reading your response and found stupidly, that I had to page down! Now Office Libre is my favorite PDF editor!!! Was sad and now happy!!!
I would suggest opening the image and go to print settings and select printer called Microsoft writer (or something similar), select that u want the file type PDF then u press print and it should ask you where to store the pdf file and press Print to have it done....
I need something to rearrange pages, delete and add pages and merge PDF documents. Do you know of a free or inexpensive one that does those things? Thank you!
I apologize, I just saw this. Pdfsam might be the program for you. I would caution you about the install. I have a video about how to do it. I thank you for the comment and please let me know how it goes.
Thanks, very helpful! I think it's pronounced the same as the word "ocular" though, just spelled with a "k" instead. (Meaning having to do with eyes or vision.) So...AWK-yoo-ler.
Not much. There is a way to install it via Linux but it's complicated. The best thing in my experience for Chromebook is Google Docs and the Google equivalent. If there is a certain feature you need that's on LibreOffice, there might be an app that can address this issue. It is not ideal, but it can work.
There are a couple of apps that I have heard of but I haven't used any of them. Xodo and Foxit (I've used the desktop version and it's good) are the ones that come to mind.
Hey! Adrian.. Editing PDF with Firefox, but it takes an hour to load and page loading is slow, cache everything cleared, tracking blocked but it's happening. And another anoying thing is I m only erasing and removing extra and overlaping sentences, adding nothing to it. Yet PDF size increasing everytime. Doing this on off-campus web, it let's under 50mb PDF to edit for free. Help me.
I'm guessing this is some type of extension for Firefox. I'm not aware of Firefox having native PDF editing. If it is an extension, I would try another one to see if the performance issue resolved. If that does work, I would try pdfescape.com if you need a web based solution. It's not perfect but it works. If you have the room, LibreOffice Draw is a good alternative. I hope this helps.
