Fr Thady, I work in Quebec as parish priest of 8 parishes covering 2,000 square kilometres. I had to adopt a mindset that numbers don’t matter, coming from Ireland I was used to big numbers attending mass and parish activities. I’m happy now to see a handful of people that want to be there. I have a new young Nigerian priest working with me now, he’s struggling to accept the smaller crowds than he was used to in Nigeria. I believe we are doing God’s will and offering as much service we can. Trust in the Holy Spirit. Keep going, it’s the Lord’s work he is there with us.

I always think its like ripples in a pond. You provide your loaves and fishes and the effects spread out far and wide and beyond what you imagine. As a ripple spreads across a pond the effects of your actions can go far beyond the immediate visible results. The boys 5 loaves and two fishes in the bible are still exerting an effect 2000 years later as an example to talents multiplied when given to God.

I think something has been lost by this change from “our Lord” to the Protestant “the Lord, same with “let us join our prayers to Mary’s” instead of “let us ask Mary to pray for us”. As regards adoration, as big an indictment as any is our locked churches, almost universal here in the UK, both by what it says about our society and our lack of trust and commitment, if I hadn’t been able to quietly steal into an empty church in the seventies and take it all in, perhaps I wouldn’t have become a Catholic, I don’t think I would have found noisy Masses had much drawing power.
Every Catholic should go to Mass on a Sunday .I have always gone and I am 74 Years of age .I definitely not a Saint but once I come across the verse how do I get to heaven .He replied keep my Fathers Commandments and love your neighbour (I Try)?Remember to Keep Holy the Sabbath and when I go to Mass I do an inventory on myself and pray for family and people having a hard time .Warning do not recieve the Blessed Eucharist with mortal sin .I don’t pray anymore for a hit squad to remove the clergy who have abused our children and young men .Just get out of the Clergy

If the pope allowed priests and nuns to marry, I believe there would be a great rejuvenation. Am I being a bad Catholic for saying that ? A different but a stronger Catholicism. It would lead yo a great renewal in the church.
That is rather a general comment. The secular clergy are permitted to marry, in a limited number of cases. Priests who have come into the Church from the Church of England through the Ordinariate, if they are married, are permitted to remain married and still be ordained as Priests in the Catholic Church. So, there are already several hundred married Priests in the Catholic Church. The secular clergy do not take vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. They agree to remain unmarried, but, if the Church did remove the requirement that they remain unmarried, they would not be breaking any vow if they then chose to marry. However, the regular clergy (that is, those who are members of a Religious Order) monks and nuns do take vows of poverty, chastity and obedience and would be breaking those vows if they were to marry. In the Eastern Orthodox Churches and in the Eastern Rite Catholic Churches (which are in communion with Rome) the secular clergy are permitted to marry. Every Catholic should go to Mass on a Sunday .I have always gone and I am 74 Years of age .I definitely not a Saint but once I come across the verse how do I get to heaven .He replied keep my Fathers Commandments and love your neighbour (I Try)?Remember to Keep Holy the Sabbath and when I go to Mass I do an inventory on myself and pray for family and people having a hard time .Warning do not recieve the Blessed Eucharist with mortal sin .I don’t pray anymore for a hit squad to remove the clergy who have abused our children and young men .Just get out of the Clergy

Father, I do not consider that 2,879 views should be considered to be a “disappointment”. Remember, many of those to whom you minister do not live in Ireland, or even in England, but all around the globe.
Yes, but there is also a great need for in-person attendance. It is great to be able to reach out to people all over, but when people attend in person, they create the atmosphere for the event

If the pope allowed priests and nuns to marry, I believe there would be a great rejuvenation. Am I being a bad Catholic for saying that ? A different but a stronger Catholicism. It would lead yo a great renewal in the church.
That is rather a general comment. The secular clergy are permitted to marry, in a limited number of cases. Priests who have come into the Church from the Church of England through the Ordinariate, if they are married, are permitted to remain married and still be ordained as Priests in the Catholic Church. So, there are already several hundred married Priests in the Catholic Church. The secular clergy do not take vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. They agree to remain unmarried, but, if the Church did remove the requirement that they remain unmarried, they would not be breaking any vow if they then chose to marry. However, the regular clergy (that is, those who are members of a Religious Order) monks and nuns do take vows of poverty, chastity and obedience and would be breaking those vows if they were to marry. In the Eastern Orthodox Churches and in the Eastern Rite Catholic Churches (which are in communion with Rome) the secular clergy are permitted to marry. Monks, nuns and the regular clergy in those Churches are not free to marry, having taken religious vows.
While I leave such matters to church authority, I don't see the Anglican Church bursting at the seams

He’s everyone’s God. He doesn’t need us but He made us and loves us more than the human mind can conceive. Why wouldn’t we love our beloved Father? We can have a beautiful relationship with Him.
@@InExcelsisDeo24when I was young this same god was a savage brute that was going to burn you in hell for eternity and now you're telling me he loves me more than I can understand, when did this change take place. If he loves us so much why didn't he protect children being abused by his own agents . How could anybody stand by and see a child being abused. If you have sex outside marriage this god keeps a record and punishes you when you die but couldn't do anything about child abuse. This is definately some strange god you're talking about.
God does not need the adoration. But, for us, spending time in adoration, is a bit like relaxing in the Son.

They will have to answer for their actions and decide where they will spend eternity. God is close to the brokenhearted. This life is but a blink, bodily death is not the end nor the worst thing that can happen.
