    Thank you for sharing! We are going next year on Danube Waltz (first time on Viking for us). You provided a lot of valuable information. It was a great video!

    Just started watching this video and was excitet to hear that Viking has their own buses and that they have a bathroom!! Yay. That leaves me less anxious when planning our GET next June 2024.

    Thanks for showing us these excursions. You provided a lot of good information and I know you are putting in a lot of hard work to edit these videos.

    Thanks for sharing. We are doing the European Sojourn (Bucharest to Amsterdam) in June and this gave us a good overview of what to expect.

    Yes Thank You for sharing. Learned some very valuable tips like paying for restrooms. Also gave me a better feel for the pace of the walks. Family thinks I should use a wheelchair but that’s a real pain. Tours are not as fast pace I was afraid they would be.

      Glad we could help! As for the excursion mobility needs, Viking does have the very slow paced trips. Wheelchair is a tough one on cobblestones.

    We had a Rhine Christmas cruise with a precruise extension in Amsterdam. All our excusions were wonderful.

    Thank you so much for the videos! I'm curious about the footing... Was it ever icy? Do you recommend the strap on cleats with tiny pegs?

    • @1sttimetravelers493
      @1sttimetravelers493  Год назад +1

      Suzanne, great question! Yes it was icy in spots. Lisa has Parkinson’s and took a cane with her. We had crampons but never found it necessary to use them. So, I would say that you should take them with to have that option possible, yet, I really do not think you will need them. Have a wonderful trip!!

    Have tip money ready! If you don't get change, use US dollars until you can get exchange.

    🇬🇧👍👍👍Huddresfield just been watching your holiday tour with Viking I’m thinking of going on a Viking cruise through Europe have you got any tips? but I won’t be going in winter I’m a summer person all the best Alf

      Yes! I would watch our "Do's and Don'ts" episode in this series. You will have to decide if you are going to take a 1 or 2 week cruise and most certainly what season you want to travel in, as it does rain during the summer. I might think that Sept. or Oct may be the best months to travel. Wish you all the best with your travels!!!!

    What would be an appointment amount to tip tour guides and bus drivers?

    • @1sttimetravelers493
      @1sttimetravelers493  Год назад +2

      $10 for the guide and $5 for the bus driver is what we tried to do. This all hinged on if we had the appropriate cash available. I hope this helps!

    Question: Did Viking furnish the walking stick/cane, or did you bring that?

    • @1sttimetravelers493
      @1sttimetravelers493  Год назад +1

      MVBuckeye, Lisa brought it with her. I suggest you do the same especially if you are doing the December trip with snow on the ground. You want this to be fun and anything that will help with this….do it!

    What do you consider to be an appropriate tip for the bus driver and the tour guide?

    • @1sttimetravelers493
      @1sttimetravelers493  Год назад +1

      Well, it all depends on how long the trip is. To Munich and back then $10, all the in town trips $5 should do fine.
