    🙋 totally yes I see I'm not the only one that uses these Berkley gulp alive 1 inch chartreuse Shad minnows either. Not only do I love and I enjoy using them when I'm fishing for crappies & trout I also love using them and this is the only be I will use at least 97% of the time when I fish. The other 3% of the time when I do fish I use (( PAUTZKE FIRE BALLS SALMON EGGS )) these work great as well for all types of other fish. I've been fishing since I was 7 years old.I'm going to be 44 in June and over the years I have fished for all kinds of fish. However my two most favorite types of fish to go for is trout and crappies. I will fish for trout and crappies more than any other fish that's out there. But anyway thanks for the video thanks for sharing we all appreciate it enjoy watching as well have a happy blessed and wonderful Easter. God bless amen.

    I caught a white catfish on a gulp minnow earlier this year. Whatever they scent them things with is a true fish attractant. Those things catch fish.

    • @KayakCatfish
      @KayakCatfish  6 лет назад +1

      I sure enjoy doing it. Someday when the catfishing around here declines, that is probably the only type of fishing I will do.

    • @casualcarolinafishing5835
      @casualcarolinafishing5835 6 лет назад +1

      Let's hope they do something to protect our favorite fisheries. I keep a cat now and then to eat. I have no problem with people who do so long as they're reasonable about it. Some people go in, catch 50 fish or more and keep every one of them. There's just no good reason to ever do that. Catch what you need to eat & put the rest back until you need some more then come back and catch some more. Nobody needs 300lbs of catfish meat in the freezer at a time. Drives me crazy when I see that mess.

    I was out in Port Aransas, Texas today and the sand trout were out and hitting hard on live shrimp, and makes me wonder, do you ever use live bait up there? It’s different types of fishing but if you do what do you use?

    • @KayakCatfish
      @KayakCatfish  6 лет назад +1

      I used to use live bait exclusively when ultralight fishing but I got into fishing with jigs/plastics and just enjoy it a lot more. I have used minnows, crickets, meal worms, wax worms, night crawlers etc in the past. All were very effective.

    Always great videos! I purchased some of the Leland Lures 87657 Trout Magnet Jig Heads, 1/64-Ounce Silver at Bass Pro Shops for $1.99 per 5 count package. I believe that is cheap when compared to Amazon. Same thing for the gulp minnows. Cheaper on Bass Pro. I could be wrong though. Maybe I'm not reading the quantities correctly on Amazon. As long as you order $50 worth Bass Pro has free shipping as well. I would love to help you out through your affiliate link as long as I'm not paying way more than I would through another online retailer or local mom-n-pop shop. Keep the awesome videos coming!

    I'm at Fort Gibson Lake. Record blue cat was caught last December, 82.7 pounds. This morning I laid into a giant & suddenly I couldn't reel it in!! The Cat Max (basspro) reel had ZERO drag even as tight as I could get it. Nothing, no drag at all, snug but no stop if you know what I mean? Fought with it for 10 minutes, 65 pound braid cut my hand twice & finally I just cut it loose. Heading for basspro with a busted reel this morning. Darnit!!! Thought for sure I was finally going to get some good video :)

    • @KayakCatfish
      @KayakCatfish  6 лет назад +2

      I have the NRS Boundary Water boots. They are great for kayak fishing. They are water proof and have a good sole for walking the banks. They run pretty true to size but I would recommend getting one size bigger than you normally wear if you plan to wear two pairs of thick socks in the winter time. I think they normally run around $90. I got these on a Black Friday sale a couple years ago for $60. Thanks for watching!

      Kayak Catfish I like the fact it keeps you in position. I searched google trynna find one a bit more reasonably priced with that feature but couldn’t find one 😭

      I bought the motor and the gps separate and saved a couple hundred bucks. Another option is to get a minn Kota motor and put the Pro Nav gps system on it. The Pro Nav gps is expensive. I think it’s around $700 but you can often find a compatible minn Kota motor used pretty cheap.

    Last year I caught 3 4lb catfish on ultralight, after missed first 2 i switched to snelling my hooks.

      Catfish sure pull hard on the ultralight but they always make a mess of my line.

      Kayak Catfish i normally pick them up while drop shoting crickets and seems to be less of hassle then a bobber setup for some reason.
