🙋 totally yes I see I'm not the only one that uses these Berkley gulp alive 1 inch chartreuse Shad minnows either. Not only do I love and I enjoy using them when I'm fishing for crappies & trout I also love using them and this is the only be I will use at least 97% of the time when I fish. The other 3% of the time when I do fish I use (( PAUTZKE FIRE BALLS SALMON EGGS )) these work great as well for all types of other fish. I've been fishing since I was 7 years old.I'm going to be 44 in June and over the years I have fished for all kinds of fish. However my two most favorite types of fish to go for is trout and crappies. I will fish for trout and crappies more than any other fish that's out there. But anyway thanks for the video thanks for sharing we all appreciate it enjoy watching as well have a happy blessed and wonderful Easter. God bless amen.
just moved to Canada from the UK and before I left I got into spinning for Perch and was looking for something similar and you've confirmed that the Crappie is what im after! Enjoyable watch
Nice Crappies, good too see you and your videos again. I've been getting out once a week ice fishing and doing pretty good. This week finally getting to fish some open water for big trout. Love your videos!
Also hope you had a HAPPY BIRTHDAY a day of fishing also makes it perfect. Mines coming up March 17 but got to work! Gotta make that buck so I can go fishing.
Great video. I watched the first one where you talk about micro jig fishing. Have since tried it and can't sing your praises enough for putting the info out there. IT TRULY WORKS! Thanks so much.
Supposed to be coming down there a week from today and what does the weather man do, order rain, rain , rain. Those catfish got to be turning on soon. Thanks for the video.
Knowing our weather man, the report will probably change four more times in the next week. Hopefully you can get out and catch you a few while you are here.
A gulp minnow nose hooked on a light gold hook, small splitshot and small bobber will catch crappie when other lures wont. Have caught many many many 2+ lb crappie like this.
Thanks! The boots are NRS boundary water boots. They are comfortable and waterproof. Little bit expensive for a pair of kayak boots but they serve the purpose well.
Thanks. I striper fish out of a kayak in a shallow river and end up having to drag my kayak here and there over shoals. Those look perfect for covering my danty ankles 😂
Kayak Catfish Have you ever watched any gaming streams? It's every other word! LoL I was just giving you an idea on some new stuff to try. I love your videos and I wanna see you blow up with content and viewers.
Let's hope they do something to protect our favorite fisheries. I keep a cat now and then to eat. I have no problem with people who do so long as they're reasonable about it. Some people go in, catch 50 fish or more and keep every one of them. There's just no good reason to ever do that. Catch what you need to eat & put the rest back until you need some more then come back and catch some more. Nobody needs 300lbs of catfish meat in the freezer at a time. Drives me crazy when I see that mess.
I was out in Port Aransas, Texas today and the sand trout were out and hitting hard on live shrimp, and makes me wonder, do you ever use live bait up there? It’s different types of fishing but if you do what do you use?
I used to use live bait exclusively when ultralight fishing but I got into fishing with jigs/plastics and just enjoy it a lot more. I have used minnows, crickets, meal worms, wax worms, night crawlers etc in the past. All were very effective.
Nice setup, I love that type of fishing. I’ve been fishing the creeks here in south east TN and the panfish have not been very aggressive yet. The 1/64 jig head works great because you can work it slow
Kayak Catfish lol!! Jackson big rig with trolling motor & all the rigging for suspending live bait... it's all your fault, at least that's what I told the wife, ha!!!
Always great videos! I purchased some of the Leland Lures 87657 Trout Magnet Jig Heads, 1/64-Ounce Silver at Bass Pro Shops for $1.99 per 5 count package. I believe that is cheap when compared to Amazon. Same thing for the gulp minnows. Cheaper on Bass Pro. I could be wrong though. Maybe I'm not reading the quantities correctly on Amazon. As long as you order $50 worth Bass Pro has free shipping as well. I would love to help you out through your affiliate link as long as I'm not paying way more than I would through another online retailer or local mom-n-pop shop. Keep the awesome videos coming!
Thanks! I always encourage people to shop around and get the best deal. I appreciate people using the links but I don’t want anybody paying more than they have to for anything.
James Powell Just watch the weight limit for that yak with the motor and batter. I went with a Titan due to my investment in burgers and donuts for many years. It also has a addtional mount for a trolling motor.
I been fishing tellico lake a lot here lately but I don’t have a boat so been bank fishing but haven’t been catching anything big. I’m just now really getting into cat fishing so I don’t really know any good spots to go to bank fish. Got any advice?
I'm at Fort Gibson Lake. Record blue cat was caught last December, 82.7 pounds. This morning I laid into a giant & suddenly I couldn't reel it in!! The Cat Max (basspro) reel had ZERO drag even as tight as I could get it. Nothing, no drag at all, snug but no stop if you know what I mean? Fought with it for 10 minutes, 65 pound braid cut my hand twice & finally I just cut it loose. Heading for basspro with a busted reel this morning. Darnit!!! Thought for sure I was finally going to get some good video :)
Great vid, Gulp works really well for me as far as panfish. I find the creek chubs and suckers like the Gulp Maggots, it sure puts the bait in the bucket lol
I have found since I got my kayak that I am catching more fish then when I did with a 25,000.00 bass boat. You don’t have a choice but to slow down when you in a kayak.
Nice video!! I have a couple questions for you.... are the boots your wearing okay to walk banks and enter the water from time to time from the bank? And what is the brand of boots and cost?
I have the NRS Boundary Water boots. They are great for kayak fishing. They are water proof and have a good sole for walking the banks. They run pretty true to size but I would recommend getting one size bigger than you normally wear if you plan to wear two pairs of thick socks in the winter time. I think they normally run around $90. I got these on a Black Friday sale a couple years ago for $60. Thanks for watching!
You should of took them home and froze for cut bait,i sure would have. This time of year I grab anything that swim,s,ha.ha.Spring,s around the bend and the skip,s will go crazy.Stay safe.
Kayak Catfish I like the fact it keeps you in position. I searched google trynna find one a bit more reasonably priced with that feature but couldn’t find one 😭
I bought the motor and the gps separate and saved a couple hundred bucks. Another option is to get a minn Kota motor and put the Pro Nav gps system on it. The Pro Nav gps is expensive. I think it’s around $700 but you can often find a compatible minn Kota motor used pretty cheap.
Beautiful Congratulations Fisherman *Fishing* Success:)👍🎣🐠🐠🐠
Thank you!
Happy birthday to you
Thanks!
Love that dock it holds all the fish.
Thanks for another great video. Much respect to you for taking the time to help others enjoy fishing and enjoying life it’s self.
St croix UL 6’ is my favorite trout rod, good choice sir. Pflueger president reel though.
We need one of these in 2021
It’s coming
@@KayakCatfish awesome can't wait I finally found some here in ohio where I live there fun to catch
Happy late birthday

Kayak Catfish / you are very welcome. As long as you continue to make some great fishing videos I will continue to keep watching.
And Happy Birthday Justin.
Thanks!

Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Good luck with the crappie! Hope you catch a bunch.
I kayak fish as well and and considering getting a motor. Please make a video discussing the motor you chose. I hate to waste money trying blindly.
Nice Crappies, good too see you and your videos again. I've been getting out once a week ice fishing and doing pretty good. This week finally getting to fish some open water for big trout. Love your videos!

Was that hope creek
Yes
Do you think itll be a good time to go crappie fishing rn down in that creek
I’m sure they are there but I imagine that creek is chocolate milk muddy right now due to all the flooding over the weekend.
Probably a weird question but do you eat the fish you catch from around this area I heard rumors that the fish are not good to eat.
I don’t eat anything out of these waters. I wouldn’t chance it.
Great video and happy birthday man
Thanks Kevin!
Awesome fishing. Looks like a lot of fun. Happy birthday
Thanks for the happy birthday wishes and for watching!
Man I missed your fishing videos, awesome to see you back at them.
Oh and Happy belated b-day man
Thanks for the birthday wishes and for watching!
Happy birthday!
Thanks!
It is extremely fun when you get into a school of Crappie, or White Bass. And a very happy birthday man.
It sure is. I hope to get back on some white bass here soon.
Great video. I watched the first one where you talk about micro jig fishing. Have since tried it and can't sing your praises enough for putting the info out there. IT TRULY WORKS! Thanks so much.
Thanks David! I’m glad you found the video helpful. I appreciate you watching.
That is why I always liked using Ultra Light, and Crickets, you could catch Perch, Crappie, Bass, and Catfish every once in awhile. And carp too.
Some people thought I was crazy for giving fish away, but I enjoyed it.
I like catching a variety of fish too. It just adds to the excitement.
It’s about time!!
Shouldn’t you be watching Denny’s video right now?
great video man. keep up the good work
Thanks Mark!
Are those gulp minnows plastic?
Yes, they are plastic
Thanks. I see some in jars of liquid
Good video.
Thanks!
I have never had luck with Gulp Minnows. Gulp Crickets are my ticket. Like what Uncle Steve uses. I miss Uncle Steve.
You comment went to my spam folder again lol.
Kayak Catfish RUclips hates me.
heyyyyyyyyyyy good to see ya back at it man !
Thanks! I appreciate you watching.
Good to see you back out there ... a lot of folks here in central Arkansas target crappie for eating.
Thanks! A lot of people around here eat them too. Not sure how safe it is with the contamination in our water here though.
Damn shame about the contamination.
Should try you a little Dock Demon from Zebco. Talk about fun catching bluegill and Crappie. Talk about a fight in small tackle. Enjoyed the video.
Thanks John! I’ll have to try one out sometime.
Great video 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🤙🏾

Good times..... what is the seat you're sitting on?
It is the seat that comes with the Nucanoe kayaks.
Kayak Catfish that's a good birthday....hope the rest of it was good too.
Thanks!
Awesome video man. Gota ask though. What kinda boots are you wearing and are they waterproof?
If you got the cash, you should buy a GoPro that has wireless on it and stream to RUclips via your smartphone while you fish. That would be awesome.
The stream would have to be rated R due to the amount of curse words I say every time I get hung and have to break off lol.
Kayak Catfish Have you ever watched any gaming streams? It's every other word! LoL I was just giving you an idea on some new stuff to try. I love your videos and I wanna see you blow up with content and viewers.
Hey Justin!!
Have I missed this question?? Why don't you just stand and fish..?
Mainly because the camera would be pointed right at my crotch if I did lol. Steve Sherron with Adventure outdoors would love that though.
I caught a white catfish on a gulp minnow earlier this year. Whatever they scent them things with is a true fish attractant. Those things catch fish.
I sure enjoy doing it. Someday when the catfishing around here declines, that is probably the only type of fishing I will do.
Let's hope they do something to protect our favorite fisheries. I keep a cat now and then to eat. I have no problem with people who do so long as they're reasonable about it. NRS Boundary Water boots
Kayak Catfish thanks is your pfd a nrs also?
The pfd is an Astral V Eight.
Kayak Catfish thanks! Looks pretty comfy and compact.
What battery are you using ?
It was a deep cycle marine battery from Walmart. I think it was a group 31 size.
Think I’ll load up my kayak and try your method next week when the weather settles down.
Good luck! Hope you catch some big ones!
Is the backgroundnoise from the e-motor? Nice video.
Yes, when spot lock is on, the motor constantly makes adjustments to hold the position.

Looks beautiful and calm there, another awesome video brother and nice fishing too
Most Catfishermen are in crappie mode are getting ready for it.
The crappie are definitely biting better for me than the catfish right now. It should pick up again soon though. I’m ready for it.

Corrosive Cookie thank you sir. I am watching it now. Thanks again.
James Powell Just watch the weight limit for that yak with the motor and batter. I went with a Titan due to my investment in burgers and donuts for many years. It also has a addtional mount for a trolling motor.
I saw a video the other day where a guy had installed a bow mount on his titan. It was a cool looking rig.

Nucanoe Pursuit
Kayak Catfish hey man thank you sir. I wish i could buy it but I can't right now. I do like the boat and I do enjoy your show.

I have found since I got my kayak that I am catching more fish then when I did with a 25,000.00 bass boat. You don’t have a choice but to slow down when you in a kayak.
Very true. I fish an area a lot more thoroughly than I ever did when I was in a boat. Thank you for watching!
you dont eat the fish there right?
I don’t think Crappie are listed on the contaminated list but I still don’t personally chance it.

I laughed at the thumbnail it just doesn’t look right always see you holding up monsters but still fantastic Video My Friend
Haha! I need to hold them closer to the camera to make them look bigger. Thank you for watching!
Fish after fish after fish after fish. What the hell is this a fishing channel?
A fishing channel about catching fish? That’s a pretty dumb concept. It will never catch on.
Last year I caught 3 4lb catfish on ultralight, after missed first 2 i switched to snelling my hooks.
Catfish sure pull hard on the ultralight but they always make a mess of my line.
Kayak Catfish i normally pick them up while drop shoting crickets and seems to be less of hassle then a bobber setup for some reason.
Stop being a city boy and eat some of those fish. Lol
Haha! You couldn’t pay me to eat anything out of our nasty rivers.
