I love watching him play; he expresses himself so beautifully and he’s NEVER self seeking or self indulgent like many guitarists we could all name. I’m really hoping the camera spends less time on AK during 2022 live performances; I know he’s the front man, but in reality RHCP is a band of equals.
Especially in light of certain interviews he has done recently. I think he was super fucking wrecked at this point in the tour. “Severely unbalanced” is what he said. And he was just done with touring and wasn’t taking great care of himself, according to him. And he just fucking solo’d every point he could to express his crazy feelings. A lot of it is beautiful. Especially that like 13 minutes jam where he in toying with his pedal board a lot on one of these shows. Glad he is happier now. As he sings on the new record, he knows it’s only gold and he “comes slow now to everything”. :)
My fav trait about John is definitely his emotions shown during the playing, and that crazy jam in the same concert is one of my fav. But TBH in general I don’t like to listen to or watch him play in 2007 compared to any other year’s playing. Don’t get me wrong, the only reason I say this is cuz I always feel he’s too painful this year, and you can totally feel it through his playing or his facial expression. You can tell he’s unhappy. And now we read that interview and everything checks out. And I really like what you say about him to come slow to everything. Some people seem to expect a guy who stopped playing guitar for 10 years to pick up from what he left off during his prime time…uh… Just want to say, John, hope you enjoy and have fun with your fellows this time!
@Christopher LaCroix Some of these 2007 shows are too painful for a sensitive person who loves Fru’s playing to watch and enjoy. I always thought there were underlying reasons for his leaving the band in 2009; in 2006 he seemed so contented, then by 2007 he looked totally burned out emotionally despite his still incredible performances on stage. It’s such a pleasure, in 2022, to see him smiling and enjoying his return to the band; he’s an intelligent person who won’t repeat the mistakes of the past.
@@KickflipGnasty No. En las giras de BSSM, Californication y By The Way a penas usaba el wah... Y actualmente lo usa pero no de forma tan recurrente y exagerada como en 2007.
@@Mario-co7zg Yes. He still uses his wah on 90% of his solos. Sometimes he leaves it cocked forward and isn’t constantly rocking it, but that doesn’t mean it’s going unused.

It’s in all his jams, all the extended solos, etc. I actually don’t mind that he uses it in a few less songs. It’s still a consistent part of his sound…
I think one of the special things about froosh is that he's always in "the zone", he knows what to play depending on how the moment feels, i even dare to say he never overplays, he plays just what's needed in a specific moment. For example, listen to californication solo in chorzow 2007 vs any solo of that song in 1999, I feel like he didn't play less because of the supossed "lack" of technique he had at that time (just listen to savior on Toronto Canada 1999) he just plays with so much feeling that he doesn't need to play a "great" solo every time, with being precise is enough...
"Final Jam" at the end of that show was one of, if not the absolute best they've ever done. Look up 'RHCP - Final Jam at Chorzow Poland 2007' Almost 13min video that just keeps getting better and better. 11/10 recommend
The band sounded awesome and loud. Creative magic was happening, let it all out. The peppers flirted with a bunch of different genres. Songs from Stadium Arcadium are very melodic. John's guitars work had a raw vivid flare at that time on certain songs. Let the geniuses express themselves. Be humble. Peace and love !
If there’s anything John is ‘not’ guilty of it’s overplaying. When I saw them live he soloed over that additional section as well, it was intentional. And I saw them a year earlier than this. A minute long solo isn’t that much. Listen to jazz and you’ll understand haha
@@ValentinoTorresi ahahahaha John frusciante fanboy right there. Listen to this solo, then go listen to a John Mayer solo. Day and night difference. @@user-vm1hh2lp1b Some of his solos are quite good actually. Some are repetitive, but a lot of guitarists and bassists have repetitive and boring solos. Frusciante might not be your favorite soloist, but a lot of his riffs and lines are memorable, really catchy, and pretty good. Some are technical, a lot arent, but they're able to move a lot of people, and most people cant do that. Also, this live solo and a lot of his lives during the time werent the greatest, because he had a lot of emotional turmoil during those times. He just solo'd over everything just to get stuff out, even if he's just playing meaningless licks. If you're a guitarist or bassists or drummer, Im sure theres been times where you've felt bad and just played the same thing over and over and it just hit different. Nothing to get upset about (this bit goes out to everyone).
@@paulg3686 I agree with you, his riffs (the old ones) are great. I was just pointing out how his solos are not worth getting as excited about as people do… they’re very repetitive and basic and there’s nothing that has-dropping happening… but I do like his early riffs, bssm was full of great riffs. His recent stuff isn’t really for me though, but that’s just me. I feel like he deserved all the hype back then, around the bssm era. Nowadays, not so much.

I think john is a genius. In the recordings the lead guitar also counties in this part and it is an awesome part of the guitar in this song
John is like a spiritual experience. It’s never too little, or too much. It’s always perfect. Yet only God is perfect.
