Rally for Our Troops: Beaufort, SC 2003

In March 2003 the war in Iraq began. Marines from the MCAS Beaufort Air Station were deployed there. A local citizen worried that our military might not get the full appreciation they deserved. She rallied the citizens of Beaufort to show up at an impromptu gathering at the city's Waterfront Park. With only a couple of days notice, she worried that no one would come. to her surprise and to the surprise of many, hundreds showed up in their most patriotic attire. It was an electrifying experience. No politics were involved. It was a night of Red,White, and Blue. God Bless the USA.
