  • This JVC Videosphere TV is considered to be the weirdest TV ever made. It was heavily influenced by NASA and the space program as were many electronic items designed in the early 1970s. It really looks like a space helmet! It is designed to be portable - it has a battery power connection for an optional battery or plug in to a car cigarette lighter. The base allows adjustment by sliding around on an axis track or detachment to be carried around as a Videosphere portable TV!

For an old analog television set it looks more modern than any of todays digital sets.

They claim that the Smart Doorbell camera came out a decade ago. But it turns out that they came out half a century ago!

    Turn it on!
The design is iconic, but Philips was so bright to make a helmet TV with a visor that could be opened. This looks super gloss, and uber-scratchy.

Nice video, what size screen is it diagonally? And does the round cover magnify the image at all?

It appears to be a 9 inch diagonal black and white TV. There is no magnification by the cover.
