The Great Steve Arrington played drums on the demo for this song on a cassette that I had and I wrote and sang all of the lead vocals on the cassette. This song is so beautiful and I wrote these vocals for this chick from England. Danny wrote and sang his part on the bridge. Excellent memories. Keith did a good job recreating my lyrics, words and harmonies. Aubrey rivers needed more feature on that sweet sax!!
@@jieronbaltazar1972 No Jieron....I wrote the lead vocals and Danny webster wrote the hook...lonely girls. Steve arrington was playing drums on the cassette demo in 1982 Keith nash is singing all of the harmonies and words that i wrote and was not credited for. I will always love this song and know the truth that Mark Adams DID NOT credit me for my hard work. I worked really hard on this song writing and all the harmonies. It is so very sad when people don't get the credit that they deserve! But alas....it is all history now!
@@jieronbaltazar1972 No man. in fact ...no one EVER opened for us when I was with the group for 3 years. We always played our own shows but they were unbelievable our horn section was Incredible live and we ripped it! very very loose shows.
I haven't heard that one in a long time. I used to have the album. Great to see you're still around Wayne Foote. You were right in there with the rest of the Slaves and did em' really good! Still one of my favorite bands since Slide was released in 1977. I still would like to know what bass Mark played on those later albums. Thanks for sharing this song!
@@waynefoote3781 thanx for reply. I wouldn't swear on it just think so. The programes truth & rhythm, funk chronicles and unsung are fab funk shows. Plus a book by scott goldfine ( truth and rhythm) titled ,everything on the one has superb funk info. Last but not least , if your wayne foote ex slave lead vocals on EZ lovin u and forever mine wow. You guys were funk royalty.
The good thing about the internet is that your able to catch up on gems like this,

This is beautiful
Thank you for the compliment Nathan. the demo was unbelievable with Steve Arrington on drums and yours truly on lead vocals.
I remember telling Big Al that I wasn't too busy just making things I've seen before in Heaven. It could have been this.
Man!!!!! I didn't know they made any slow songs!!!!!!!!!!
No im not cryin sufferin nar on death bed me family cover with the blood shield protection angel in jesus name
Think this album fell under the funk rader. Fab slapping pow drums. A long long time ago Maurice white played similar drums on a a Black Ivory track.
I did not know that Maurice White played drums on the black ivory album. Thanks for that info!
