Nice collection again Pasi. I Surrender, All Night Long and Since You've Been Gone were all jukebox staples back in my uni days. I've never seen the picture sleeve of 'I Surrender'. A single as half of a double album, that's neat. I don't know when I last bought a CD-single. Cheers, James
I Surrender may have been the first ever metal video i saw. I remember being very impressed by the piano part and especially the mirror glow light during the video. Never been a fan of cd singles. I only have a few of those. Pasi
Fantastic collection. I don't think I ever thought about buying a Rainbow single; they were always an album band. I wonder how many of those were released in the US? I'll do some research. Cool story about the live album (3 songs on the single, 8 on the double-album lol). That picture disc with the guitar through it is pretty awesome too. Rock on Pasi!
I didn't think to check about the US Rainbow singles. I doubt there were that many. I have another singles video coming sometime in the near future and it'll be both UK & US singles. On information at least. I like the look of that shaped picture disc too. Pasi
Depending on which six singles, either it took me a little while or it took me ages to find them 😉. I have the first Röyhkä/Mattila album on vinyl. I bought this second album+t-shirt when it was released. At the time i was more interested in price it cost than whether it was cd or vinyl. To a degree still am. Won't pay any price just to get a vinyl. Pasi
What an excellent Rainbow singles collection you have! I think I have about half a dozen singles by them. If there is one 7" single that I REALLY REALLY would like to have, it would be Death Alley Driver because for me it's the 2nd best heavy metal song ever! 🤘😎 Weird that they made a real music video for it but they only released the single in a couple of countries. During their original run Rainbow released surprisingly few singles. At least some of those had non-album tracks and non-album versions. Weiss Heim is a blöödy good instrumental! Yes, i agree, why make a video if you don't relelase it as a single. I know at least a couple of other such examples,Whitesnake Slow an' Easy(promo only), Ratt Slip Of The Lip (Japanese single). At the timme it wasn't so common to release that many singles from albums and maybe their record company didn't think their songs weren't radio friendly enough. With only a couple of exceptions Rainbow singles haven't been easy to come by. Pasi
