Here is why Betfair trading is so effective and why it doesn't need to be complicated

- This weekend I will be Betfair trading for most of Friday, through the early hours of Saturday morning right through to the early hours of Sunday morning. My trades will span markets across the globe in different countries.
It seems almost impossible to imagine that such a thing is possible but it is! That is because Betfair trading can be as simple or as complicated as you wish.
But as a betting strategy, Betfair trading is an incredibly effective way to make money from most sports betting markets.
Over many years I've layered more and more strategies and tactics into the market in an effort to push the boundaries of what is possible.
But the fact is, there are loads of really simple things you can do that don't require you to have any specialist skills or knowledge. You can use quite simple ideas and trading strategies to be able to turn a profit.
In this video, I explore some really simple Betfair trading strategies that anybody can do. But I also explore what the market is and why trading a market exploits some of the key factors and behaviours of the other participants in the market.
As long as you remain focused on that concept you should be OK. You don't need to come up with some really complicated and detailed method, you should just focus on the opportunities that the markets will present.

Thats a nice Acer tree. & I'd love a betfair jacket haha
I ended up watching one of your videos from 2016 & it helped me cement my emotional attachment to the exchange. A few days a go I laid a horse inplay, it was jumping poorly & there were 2 horses infront that addent moved a muscle.
It must have been a hilly course like exeter where the horse was being pushed on the downhill section instead of giving the horse a breather as there is am uphill finish
When the horse was being pushed & improving you can bet the price started to shorten from 12 into 6s
I decided to stay clam as the other hourses were still comefortable on the final bend.
Sure enough the other 2 had the energy to tackle the uphill finish while the one I laid faded
Curiously, it wasn't Betfair Uk that gave me the jacket. Betfair Australia sent it to me, customer service on a different level there!
Glad the videos helped. I'm always trying to think through how best to get across the information and knowledge that I have found important.
Another great video, and Bet Angel is an amazing bit of software, being a coder myself all I can say is wow :)
Thanks, next version out on Monday with an amazing addition.
@@betangeltv Looking forward to it!
Love the jacket, the football series was exceptionally good, as was the "expectancy" videss 2 of them if I recall correctly.
Many thanks, I'm glad they are useful.
Another informative and educational video. Thank you Peter. I'm a Bet Angel customer learning to pre horse race trade. I'm using Betfair's own live video feed but, it only starts showing live pictures as the horses are making their way to post. Can you recommend an alternative horse racing TV coverage provider, for example, At The Races, Sky Racing or something else? Thank you.
I tend to use Racing TV extra to keep an eye on things pre-off. The same service doesn't happen with Sky Racing, though we are half way to solving that problem for Bet Angel users.
I am always fascinated by your clear and deep thoughts, and your calmness. How can you be as cool as a cucumber, like a Buddha? Are you always like that in real life, too? :) Anyways, could you please make a video about what do you do with the money you've made from trading? Do you collect art? Do you go to Michelen-starred restaurants? Do you have a hobby that you can finance with this money?
I didn't used to be like this, I had to unlearn all my bad habits to be able to reshape them to be a good risk taker. It you get too emtional that spills over to your trading. You can always spot a bad risk taker as they always seem to be angry about something!
I initially did all those things you would do if you won the lottery. Nice car, decent house and so on. But I mainly invest the money I make. I find that interesting as a 'hobby'. But I do like travelling, so have had quite a few adventures there as well.
One mistake I made early on was that I never really thought about what I would do if I was succesful. I just wanted to get there and didn't think much about what to do if I made it.
@@betangeltv wow! fascinating and awe-inspiring
@@betangeltv It’s often the case that people spend more time worrying about their goals, than freely doing something in the present moment to reach them. Plus, the goal in itself is fleeting, while the journey in the present moment is real and lasting. The habit of thinking that goals must be met, or else failure ensues, is subtly fixed to dependencies. What goals are you holding onto tightly? Which goals are conjoined with the FOMO that you may be experiencing? In other words, what goal does FOMO serve?
Quote from a book I just finished reading. It relates to your comment above.
Thought i would share
Another good video PW.
Ps: And another great update (1.58)
Pure dedication peter brilliant well done over 20years 👍👍👍 did Betfair give you that jacket I like it 👍
Curiously Betfair UK didn't, Betfair Australia sent it to me from the other site of the world!
Excellent video as always Peter, great guide for any newcomer 👍
Many thanks
Nice jacket Peter, should go into merchandizing! 😊
I have Betfair Australia to that for that really.
Here is a good question for you Mr Webb: Should traders be Pro-active or re-active?
You need to be slightly ahead of the market to be super succesfully. Reacting to something ends up becoming a game of speed, which anybody can play, so anticipating something is always worth a lot more.
Good video. What you are seeing in the last 5 minutes of the market are mega accounts with massive balances that have been automated via an excel sheet because they know exactly how to make money from every race. Our job is to get on the coat tails of these professional traders ....who they are....could be anybody. You are here to provide liquidity. - I'm such a cynic I here you say.....Did you get that jacket instead of the hamper. LOL.....keep up the banter.
Being cynical doesn't really work in my experience, you need to look for opportunities, not problems.
Peter how come you have never done a trading course on order flow it would help a lot people
I have done live courses in the past but it's been difficult to maintain for a number of reasons. So I've been producing more videos as a result.
Great video
Many thanks for your comment
Are there any videos feeds of just the parade ring. That's my biggest fault with trading the horses I never bother with the video.
Coverage varies, but Racing TV extra is useful for this sort of thing.
have you traded shares by using level2 data?
About twenty years ago. The problem you have there is that institutional money is so smart and a lot of it hidden.
First😉👍
👍
No offence but it seems like you need to get more sleep 😴 😏 😀
It's the lighting, unsympathetic.
