I think World At War is absolutely S tier for sure. The campaign is quite memorable, legendary characters and story telling. It felt like every battle you participated in was just an onslaught of enemies and resistance. Real life soldiers, marines, sailors, civilians died fighting for every inch of ground to stop true, unrelenting evil. And I felt that in this game. Of course, this is my opinion.
You’re right, the campaign at some points where everywhere and that was how war really was. WAW was a horror game showing the real events of WW2 the dudes wrong and that’s okay on the list.

It’s a mishmash of tropes from the MW trilogy and BO1-2, and it never got a sequel or anything so it has no legacy other than its own game. It was a decent game released at the wrong time. It came at a time when Call of Duty was beginning to fatigue, and also was the first next gen game so people expected a lot from it. So when it came out after all the hype and was just business as usual but less iconic and still felt like a 360 game, it disappointed people.

It’s kinda like saying zombies gets boring after 5 minutes cause it’s the same every time, you get in and survive, but each match has different variables which made each one feel different from the other and made it enjoyable, just this one has a goal so it’s seen as more tedious.
COD 2 and COD4 were the best competitive games ever with dedicated servers and modding, then they made it an annual franchise and took away everything that could retain players in the same game for long periods of time, forcing them to buy the new ones. Zombies were good in some Cod tittles but I didn’t get hooked up again till MW2019.
I only played it for MP and Campaign but despite MP’s terrible weapon balance I grinded that game way more because of the movement and gunsmith I didn’t grind in BOCW MP because oh how big of a step back it was compared to MW but at least the Campaign and Zombies mode is pretty decent compared to Spec Ops
the survival is such a downgrade, the beginning is way more difficult then it needs to be, but then you unlock the juggernaut then its just a question of how much spare time you have.
The fact that it was the zombies is what took it down for him made me sad. The only genuinely bad maps were die rise and transit, but even then the side maps from transit were great. Town was pog. Also Buried Mob of the dead Origins
Bo2 he puts in A tier citing zombies… but only uses transit as an example. Bo2 has two of the arguably best zombie maps of all time, Mob of the dead and Origins.
I think Ghosts could’ve been well written, the idea of a badass group of mercs who survived by hiding among the dead is great to say the least, the forums I feel give a lot more lore and backstory then the actual game does, and the dog thing was really cool as well, especially when it was necessary for certain scenarios, and the skull masks are super symbolic and badass.
But they clearly just added those specific situations where the dog would help so they could justify having the dog at all. It would be a lot more fun if the dog was available to control, like you did in that one mission, in all missions, and you could attack each mission and situation differently, whether you went at it with the dog more stealthily or went loud with the main character. That’s actual variety and you get to have a choice which is rare in cod

I think the Ghost story goes much deeper than the other cod’s. It has a villain who has legitimate motives for why he does the things he’s doing. Also it was action packed, and it nots like totally military like it’s almost like a resistance story. It’s different and I think it was great

I had fun with Infinite Warfare's campaign. I kept asking myself "Why do people not like this game?". I'm one of those people who plays Call of Duty for the campaign, that's what I look for in my games. Infinite Warfare's Dog fights in the were pretty good too.
"The game that started it all" is definitely S tier btw. Believe it or not it had multiplayer, it was incredible, especially for its time. Also the campaign was also brilliant. That game changed the game for multiplayer first person shooters.
You know what, I'll say it. I liked Ghosts Also: The point about extinction kind of shows how little attention you gave the game because there were multiple maps with DLC, which yeah it was DLC but you gave the same credit to other Zombies modes for DLC maps so

I grew up on Finest Hour, Big Red One, and CoD3, so I'd have them all in B tier for nostalgia. I'm curious as to why 3 is so low. I thought the campaign was pretty good, introducing some new mechanics with drive able jeeps, hand to hand fights, throw back grenades, plus giving us multiple factions to play as. The Americans were pretty by the book, British linking up with French Resistance was cool, and getting to play as Canadians and Poles was a breath of fresh air.
COD 3 was definitely a solid attempt to tell a for the most part, forgotten chapter in the Second World War. The Battle of Normandy was more than just D-Day. The days following June 6 were an absolute slog, fighting in Norman hedges (which are not the same as an English hedge) and urban warfare, culminating in the Battle for the Falaise pocket. The fighting on the Western Front in the Summer of 1944 was just as brutal as that on the Eastern Front. Hell, casualties on both sides were the same as those in the Battle of Stalingrad. Historical context aside, COD 3 was really bogged down by its rushed release, making it unfinished which really sucks.

Yeah, MW19 could have had it all, SBMM kinda hammered it, and the huge maps did. Mosh pit playlists were so fun, because all of the unnecessary spots of the maps were sort of cut out. Singleplayer is great, Multiplayer is good but flawed, and spec ops brings the game dooown. Except for survival. I love survival.
Act Man that's a very hot take on BO2 zombies. Bo2 brought literally the two community favorite maps, Origins and Mob of the Dead. Bo2 is the first zombies that actually brought a true challenge. I will say though the Bo3 version of Origins is infinitely better, but IMO Bo2 deserves S tier
BO2 has the privilege of having the most balanced and polished multiplayer by far, along with some great multiplayer options added in and much better botcode over BO1 with a pretty solid lineup of maps to support it all and a decent Theater mode. But... Anything else about it is rather questionable. Zombies was meh compared to BO1's absolute standout version of zombies (actually, to this day, I think BO1 zombies is only version of it worth playing), and I remember playing the campaign for a few hours and it just never grabbed me the way BO1's campaign did. And finally, though the MP was polished to a shine, it seemed to lose a lot of BO1's personality in the process.
bo2 was hyped because all of the community’s were in their final moments join together and everybody was hyped, just before the release of ps4+the community was still young and had time

Not to mention they are easy as hell, you can sit in 1 spot on buried and get to the 60s until the paralyzer doesn’t do damage. The staffs are op and it makes it too easy. Motd you can train in acid trap room and it is easy with acid gat. They aren’t challenging which makes it less fun.

I actually liked AW especially the campaign I played it like 4 times. loot boxes and weapon variants were bad but I think press f to pay respects kinda makes up for it
I enjoy Exo Survival quite a bit, and while the story is forgettable the campaign is pretty decent gameplay wise
4 times? That ain't nothing for a campaign lover. It is common for a good campaign to have done it about 10 times. Personally, I can't even count how many time I've played MW 1 and 2, WaW or CoD 2

I think the Ghost story goes much deeper than the other cod’s. It has a villain who has legitimate motives for why he does the things he’s doing. Also it was action packed, and it nots like totally military like it’s almost like a resistance story. It’s different and I think it was great

I had fun with Infinite Warfare's campaign. I kept asking myself "Why do people not like this game?". I'm one of those people who plays Call of Duty for the campaign, that's what I look for in my games. Infinite Warfare's Dog fights in the were pretty good too.
"The game that started it all" is definitely S tier btw. Believe it or not it had multiplayer, it was incredible, especially for its time. Also the campaign was also brilliant. That game changed the game for multiplayer first person shooters.

I grew up on Finest Hour, Big Red One, and CoD3, so I'd have them all in B tier for nostalgia. I'm curious as to why 3 is so low. I thought the campaign was pretty good, introducing some new mechanics with drive able jeeps, hand to hand fights, throw back grenades, plus giving us multiple factions to play as. The Americans were pretty by the book, British linking up with French Resistance was cool, and getting to play as Canadians and Poles was a breath of fresh air.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. The 3 campaign was badass. Maybe it’s just nostalgia because I played it 500 times, but man that game was so fun.

COD 3 was definitely a solid attempt to tell a for the most part, forgotten chapter in the Second World War. The Battle of Normandy was more than just D-Day. The days following June 6 were an absolute slog, fighting in Norman hedges (which are not the same as an English hedge) and urban warfare, culminating in the Battle for the Falaise pocket. The fighting on the Western Front in the Summer of 1944 was just as brutal as that on the Eastern Front. Hell, casualties on both sides were the same as those in the Battle of Stalingrad. Historical context aside, COD 3 was really bogged down by its rushed release, making it unfinished which really sucks.

Yeah, MW19 could have had it all, SBMM kinda hammered it, and the huge maps did. Mosh pit playlists were so fun, because all of the unnecessary spots of the maps were sort of cut out.
Singleplayer is great, Multiplayer is good but flawed, and spec ops brings the game dooown. Except for survival. I love survival.
So many nostalgic memories of COD4. I can still remember the sound and feel of the M16 with stopping power, it was a beast.

Act Man that's a very hot take on BO2 zombies. Bo2 brought literally the two community favorite maps, Origins and Mob of the Dead. Bo2 is the first zombies that actually brought a true challenge. I will say though the Bo3 version of Origins is infinitely better, but IMO Bo2 deserves S tier

BO2 has the privilege of having the most balanced and polished multiplayer by far, along with some great multiplayer options added in and much better botcode over BO1 with a pretty solid lineup of maps to support it all and a decent Theater mode.
But... Anything else about it is rather questionable. Zombies was meh compared to BO1's absolute standout version of zombies (actually, to this day, I think BO1 zombies is only version of it worth playing), and I remember playing the campaign for a few hours and it just never grabbed me the way BO1's campaign did. And finally, though the MP was polished to a shine, it seemed to lose a lot of BO1's personality in the process.
bo2 was hyped because all of the community’s were in their final moments join together and everybody was hyped, just before the release of ps4+the community was still young and had time

Not to mention they are easy as hell, you can sit in 1 spot on buried and get to the 60s until the paralyzer doesn’t do damage. The staffs are op and it makes it too easy. Motd you can train in acid trap room and it is easy with acid gat. They aren’t challenging which makes it less fun.
I personally would put BO2 in SS tier. The game has a special place in my heart. So many great memories with friends
