I may have been able but I did not want to swamped boat with all the tackle wet or overboard. Grab bars are good for forward balance and Not for side to side balancing. Note to all. Always wear a pfd

You’re lucky you could get to shallow water to step in. I carry a small boat ladder just to be able to get back in the boat in deeper water.
Most areas we fish are shallow. Good thing I haven’t made that mistake again. I try to stay in the boat😂

No oysters where I was closer to the dock plenty of oysters. Deep water would definitely been a problem no way to get back in
