It's a pretty good film shot in 1959/1960. Regrettably the gentile lifestyle has long gone and so has our command of the English language. The commentary is delightful and it's such a pleasure to be able to see the film and draw comparisons to the world today.

Love this! It would be wonderful to see the film fully restored as well. 😊

Hi Jennifer, glad you like it! Unfortunately, full restoration is beyond our scope and budget, and in this case the only copy we have is in poor condition. We also choose not digitally manipulate archival film, so that we do not misrepresent the original.

Great work, LINC, The old Dept. of Film Production did a great job. I also think it's important to at least list the production credits as text, as quite a few of these people are still around, or are known to people who worked in the industry. I didn't work there until 1980, but talk of those days was legend.

Jan Dallas Hi Jan, I'm sorry that we missed your question! Unfortunately individuals involved in the production of this film are not listed separately, only The Tasmanian Department of film Production is given credit for producing it. It was originally filmed between September and December 1959 and didn't involve any actors or actresses as it relied on "photographing people and places as they occur[ed] without pre-arrangement."

13:48 "Up the beautiful untouched Gordon River." Just as a tosser
tosses his match stick into the beautiful river. Shame on him.
