I have a clk and when I turn my lights on, my brake lights stay on. Replaced my brake stop switch and same problem. Was ur headlight switch doing this? Help please
Hi, well my head light switch was causing lots of gremlins for sure, so if you take the cover off from the side of the head light switch you will find some fuses. Those fuses are part of the switch and you can wiggle them around a little and check if the lights go off as you wiggle them.
Same fault on my clk 320 cabrio 1999 except my rear fog light dosent work. Thought i checked everything on the car apart from that. So unit change coming up again. Last time was on my clk 230 cabrio 2p02. That time was a damaged unit due to a wire breaking in the flexible protective tubing from the boot to the car . Really hard to diagnose as such a weird brake in the wire. If it helps..
Thanks, this helped me swap mine over in hardly any time at all.
Glad to know :)
In 2024, still very helpful, thank you.

Yes I also had a problem with the wiring in the boot it was broken wires in there and every time I open the boot the radiator fan started working.
