Character face model/animations has been one of Ubi's weakest points in most of their modern games, it seems to work alot better when they change their style. IE: Fenyx rising/Avatar

As their games gotten bigger and bigger the latter has been used a LOT heavily to speed up the process and you could tell the flaws with the system. Sure with the right talent you can make the latter blend perfectly with the former like CD Project Red games, but unfortunately Ubisot hasn't master it, and sadly probably wont.
Their assassin's creed team always deliver in graphics department without downgrade... The only let down was AC unity bugs but that game still looks more next gen than majority of current gen games.... But this is developed by division team... 😂 Division 1 downgrade was more crazy than watchdogs 1 downgrade 😅 it was literally day and night for division reveal graphics and retail graphics... But still it's manageable... One thing they'll deliver is gunplay..
I smell last minute strict corporate orders: "BUT YOUR GAME MUST BE FULLY COMPATIBLE TO OUR OLDEST ANCIENT PRE-PRE-PREVIOUS GEN CONSOLES TOO! And there must be no visual difference of the visuals on actual gen hardware!" agenda. The same happened to Cyberpunk 2077 when the devs suddenly got the strict order that their game must also be sold on the completely outdated last-last-gen PS4 Slim too (not even PS Pro, but Slim!) + there must be no visual differences visible to the PS5 and Series X and PC version. Well good luck squeezing an actual gen game into 8 GB of RAM and a Radeon RX 460 with year 2013 rendering and computing power, and Ubisoft maybe is currently facing the same problem CD Project Red had - suddenly being forced to port and downgrade and compatibilize their newest masterpiece to every stone-age hardware available from the last decade because of the new strict big-corporate and publisher agenda: All versions on all release-platforms must be the exact same game with the exact same textures, rendering distance, effects....... This might be the reason for this very sudden abrupt and very noticable visual downgrade compared to the absolute top-notch next-gen graphics quality we saw during this year and last year in all videos presentations and gameplay scenes of this fine open world Star Wars masterpiece.

There is a difference between rough/unfinished vs simpler graphics. Simple graphics can still look good when done right. This is a game that is intending to look good, so when there are parts where it looks rough/unfinished it makes it even more jarring.
The irony of this gameplay trailer is that , despite the criticisms of the performance, it was the first time since this game's announcement that I am genuinely interested in it. Only thing holding me back is it feels hard to tell how much of each planet is explorable. I know we can't expect Far Cry levels on each planet but with the way they are constantly telling us about it's vast and seamless open world I am not yet convinced.
Yea, they boast about the open world in multiple ways, but seem to hide it instead of using it to show off and not use spoiler missions like they did here...

As a huge Division fan, it’s not looking good for Massive Entertainment. The Snowdrop Engine is great at creating worlds but even movement over there can get kinda wonky and stiff. If you’re a Division 2 player you’ll look at this game and see ALOT of similarities that carried over. It’s good and bad and might be showing its age. This definitely looks like a wait for a sale kinda game if not a hard pass for now.
It's Ubisoft so it was already a wait for a sale game for me. Their games always go on big sales within in a year or two. Not to mention the game so far just isn't blowing me away. Sure it's Star Wars and I do want to eventually play it but I'm in no rush. The next game that I'm really looking forward to is Warhammer Space Marine 2.

I love the small details of games, I see where you’re coming from and I agree, just don’t buy it if that’s how you’re going to be. But I think it should be an expectation depending on how much the devs hype the game up, like with this game.
Honestly as a huge Star Wars and older Ubisoft fan, as soon as I heard Ubisoft was working on a SW game I knew it wasn't going to be good. One thing Ubisoft fails to do well every single time is animation and writing-- the gameplay is often hit or miss, you either like the loop or you don't along side with the huge unending open worlds. Knowing this I didn't watch more than 5 minutes of gameplay of this game and knew right away that this was just another Ubisoft game. I hope this game goes out silently just like Avatar game went and Ubisoft can finally maybe come to their senses.
When i saw the first gameplay they dropped i noticed some framerate issues and immediately started to expect jedi survivor results upon release. If ubisofts scripted gameplay release cant hold 60fps (probably on pc) it isnt a good sign.
Is it so wrong to have a character that looks like me? I have never wanted to play as a different gender as I enjoy playing as I am in that world. But maybe this means the game is not for me 🤷♂️
Universally excited at the first trailer? Uh no. Many people had no desire to play as one of the teenage bikers from Book of Boba Fett, and that’s been the case since the first drop. They should have stuck with 1313.
Curious to see if Digital Foundry will do a thing on this? I did notice frame drops that make some animations look bad, but I'm not entirely sure if that's the compression or in game beta footage? Not trying to defend anything, as I haven't played it nor have I paid enough attention to this.
The character look awesome. The color of the jacket, too. The style of the jacket. The hair, from back and front, look great. Her feature look perfect. The movement look well done. This a LOT better than I expected. This a phenomenal looking fantasy world. And. I always find it funny that 'nerds' think only like ONE girl in the whole world is attractive and everyone else is like 'disposable.' This character look as interesting as 'Rey.' The cool shield for proect robot, when she firing at it, and the high tech 'cat' helper. Ubisoft do a great job, base on this clip.
One month Ubi+, play it, unsubscribe. While I am looking forward to the game, it's not a full-price purchase for me. It would have to be a major surprisingly good game for me to extend the subscription or purchase it.

Typical "The graphics don't look the best ever so my intrest just went down!"-type of a rant. I saw that IGN gameplay yesterday and to me it looked just fine. But hey I don't play games for graphics but for the immersion, feeling and story. An open world Star Wars game in which I get to play a scoundrel is something fresh after the Jedi games so I'm game with this. I'm sue the game will be fine even without the best graphics ever. I started my gaming back in the early 90s with NES so I know what scruffy and 'not top notch' graphics mean and look like.
Well most of us want to have better visual fidelity with each itteration of graphics development. But if you enjoy pac man graphics or ps1 graphics, stay like that. You prolly habe glaucoma or some shit 😂

I said I have played games of those eras so I know what actually 'scruffy graphics' look like. I do like graphics and consider them important but graphics don't make the game. A game has to have good gameplay, an interesting world and story for me to even consider buying.
I just dont want it to be easy, like most brainless low difficulty console type games (yes i know its on pc). So tired of smoothbrain training wheel games where the enemy A.I is terrible and everythings pointing out with obvious waypoints or sparkles. It lacks actual exploration and puzzle solving/tactics.
Apparently the graphics like the dust and such is supposedly from on an older build or maybe a console build. Someone who has played it in person on a pc has said it looked far better than it did in this demonstration. They seemed pretty surprised.

Dev studio 100% will claim this is gameplay on old build and it probably is BUT this build would be only couple months old and stuff that looks bad here like particles should be in their final or pretty much final form moooooonths before release. BTW. I giggle every time he says: "engine limitation". Like... they had worked with the engine for couple of years, they could've built tool to make facial animations, skin shaders, eye shaders etc. better. It is kinda job of people hired there as engine devs. BTW. Am I the only one thinking that pretty much all textures, environment, shown in the 2nd gamelay look... poor? From a gameplay stand point it looks like some of my comfort food gaming that I'd be willing to spend money on but if they want new, AAA game prices they need to show something that that looks like a new, AAA game. At very damn least from a performance standpoint. Show me that they are at least trying to get in the vicinity of 60FPS.
Honestly. I think this game looks great! Compare this to starfield which is a bunch of lifeless sandbox areas. It's supposed to have 4 main planets if I'm not wrong, all of which look unique and fun to traverse. Last gen explosion and particle affects aside, I think it aims to deliver. Besides, a lot of those details can be ironed out. Fallout 4 was a big step in it's series but even then, it lacked the graphical fidelity gamers were anticipating, and its world felt so static. Let's give this one another bout of gameplay before we start picking it apart at the seams.
Getting of a speeder with a 1 secong pause every time is killer for gamplay feeling smooth, like in ghost of tsushima i can JUMP of my horse and get on and off without a second wasted, and that feels so gd smooth. i hope this gamplay is 2 years old or we are in truble

Yea I find it odd that the game looks different from what they showed off differently. Massive goes from avatar which was gorgeous to this. Definitely strange. I’m still excited for the game regardless. Other folks will probably not buy it cuz of the pricing and the so called “SBI” stuff that may or may not be there.
They’re recycling engines and assets in a lot of respects. AC for instance has 1 or 2 very well animated key scenes per game and every other interaction has that same janky, awkward motion to it. You can especially see it in the caves. Those were AC caves and animations as she squeezed through the cracks. Like, I get it, but to truly make something next gen and feel new and fresh, we need more. We deserve more for the UNBELIEVABLE price tags they’re putting on these games.
Im really a proponent of ciritcal thinking. This always happens with big new games. You get your "minds eye" version from the first exposure to the thing, and from then immediately there's a sense of identity. I posit that, what if it was always like that but some just looked around it, either by choice or trusting a few misleading minutes at your first exposure.
I knew exactly what we where gonna get with as soon as i saw the first gameplay, its always the same gameplay formula like every other ubi title, just tweeked a bit.
I almost never care for reviews, but this time I’ll watch some. I was very underwhelmed by AC Mirage, and in a way this looks sort of the same. Is not just the graphics, in a way, somehow the game looks stiff.
No hate on the actress she's beautiful and very talented. Idk why ubisoft made the characters face that way though. Why couldnt they just model her after the voice actress? She looks amazing!
Massive being at the hands for this gives me a more positive outlook on it rather than ubisoft directly developing it. Sure it's a bit scuffed now but, if performance holds up better than jedi survivor and has better fidelity then I'll be okay with it.

I believe Star Wars fans have expressed valid concerns about Star Wars: Outlaws, others have outright dismissed the game. Downgraded - had this from a few Ubisoft games - The Division was most notable one I remember well. I never, ever look at a game due to the "Trailer" or "Live streams" of the game as they are not the actual ones that'll be released. Cyberpunk was another that comes to mind......
Cant wait to play a game with boring mechanics, lackluster story, protagonist shaped like a 2x6 with a jaw line that could chisel stone and overly monetized. Prime gaming. I am also sure I will be preached at and belittled throughout the game, sounds like a fantastic time.

Sure with the right talent you can make the latter blend perfectly with the former like CD Project Red games, but unfortunately Ubisot hasn't master it, and sadly probably wont.
I cancelled my pre order earlier today, when I saw that 10min trailer on IGN, I was less than impressed.
I was very much planning on preordering but now I’m definitely waiting. It’s criminal how much they didn’t just downgrade the graphics, but how they’ve downgraded the thermal detonator to a firecracker 🧨

I love the small details of games, I see where you’re coming from and I agree, just don’t buy it if that’s how you’re going to be. But I think it should be an expectation depending on how much the devs hype the game up, like with this game.
Honestly as a huge Star Wars and older Ubisoft fan, as soon as I heard Ubisoft was working on a SW game I knew it wasn't going to be good. One thing Ubisoft fails to do well every single time is animation and writing-- the gameplay is often hit or miss, you either like the loop or you don't along side with the huge unending open worlds.
Knowing this I didn't watch more than 5 minutes of gameplay of this game and knew right away that this was just another Ubisoft game. I hope this game goes out silently just like Avatar game went and Ubisoft can finally maybe come to their senses.

When i saw the first gameplay they dropped i noticed some framerate issues and immediately started to expect jedi survivor results upon release. If ubisofts scripted gameplay release cant hold 60fps (probably on pc) it isnt a good sign.
Is it so wrong to have a character that looks like me? I have never wanted to play as a different gender as I enjoy playing as I am in that world. But maybe this means the game is not for me 🤷♂️
Universally excited at the first trailer? Uh no. Many people had no desire to play as one of the teenage bikers from Book of Boba Fett, and that’s been the case since the first drop. They should have stuck with 1313.

I did notice frame drops that make some animations look bad, but I'm not entirely sure if that's the compression or in game beta footage? Not trying to defend anything, as I haven't played it nor have I paid enough attention to this.
The character look awesome. The color of the jacket, too. The style of the jacket. The hair, from back and front, look great. Her feature look perfect. The movement look well done. This a LOT better than I expected. This a phenomenal looking fantasy world. And. I always find it funny that 'nerds' think only like ONE girl in the whole world is attractive and everyone else is like 'disposable.' This character look as interesting as 'Rey.' The cool shield for proect robot, when she firing at it, and the high tech 'cat' helper. Ubisoft do a great job, base on this clip.

I saw that IGN gameplay yesterday and to me it looked just fine. But hey I don't play games for graphics but for the immersion, feeling and story. An open world Star Wars game in which I get to play a scoundrel is something fresh after the Jedi games so I'm game with this. I'm sue the game will be fine even without the best graphics ever.
I started my gaming back in the early 90s with NES so I know what scruffy and 'not top notch' graphics mean and look like.

Well most of us want to have better visual fidelity with each itteration of graphics development. But if you enjoy pac man graphics or ps1 graphics, stay like that. You prolly habe glaucoma or some shit 😂

I do like graphics and consider them important but graphics don't make the game. A game has to have good gameplay, an interesting world and story for me to even consider buying.
I just dont want it to be easy, like most brainless low difficulty console type games (yes i know its on pc). So tired of smoothbrain training wheel games where the enemy A.I is terrible and everythings pointing out with obvious waypoints or sparkles. It lacks actual exploration and puzzle solving/tactics.

Hoping it's closer to The Division series gunplay. The cover mechanic is reminiscent but Outlaws doesn't look nearly as bullet spongy.
Apparently the graphics like the dust and such is supposedly from on an older build or maybe a console build. Someone who has played it in person on a pc has said it looked far better than it did in this demonstration. They seemed pretty surprised.

Dev studio 100% will claim this is gameplay on old build and it probably is BUT this build would be only couple months old and stuff that looks bad here like particles should be in their final or pretty much final form moooooonths before release. BTW. I giggle every time he says: "engine limitation". Like... they had worked with the engine for couple of years, they could've built tool to make facial animations, skin shaders, eye shaders etc. better. It is kinda job of people hired there as engine devs. BTW. Am I the only one thinking that pretty much all textures, environment, shown in the 2nd gamelay look... poor? Like sand, rock, the cave wall are kinda tragic...
The PC version supports DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction, the most recent footage is likely one of the consoles running in perf mode 😉

From a gameplay stand point it looks like some of my comfort food gaming that I'd be willing to spend money on but if they want new, AAA game prices they need to show something that that looks like a new, AAA game. At very damn least from a performance standpoint. Show me that they are at least trying to get in the vicinity of 60FPS.

Honestly. I think this game looks great! Compare this to starfield which is a bunch of lifeless sandbox areas. It's supposed to have 4 main planets if I'm not wrong, all of which look unique and fun to traverse. Last gen explosion and particle affects aside, I think it aims to deliver. Besides, a lot of those details can be ironed out. Fallout 4 was a big step in it's series but even then, it lacked the graphical fidelity gamers were anticipating, and its world felt so static. Let's give this one another bout of gameplay before we start picking it apart at the seams.

Getting of a speeder with a 1 secong pause every time is killer for gamplay feeling smooth, like in ghost of tsushima i can JUMP of my horse and get on and off without a second wasted, and that feels so gd smooth. i hope this gamplay is 2 years old or we are in truble
yeah i agree, the effects are the biggest problem imo, just looks to much out of place, animations arent great either but not the biggest issue for me

Yea I find it odd that the game looks different from what they showed off differently. Massive goes from avatar which was gorgeous to this. Definitely strange. I’m still excited for the game regardless. Other folks will probably not buy it cuz of the pricing and the so called “SBI” stuff that may or may not be there.

They’re recycling engines and assets in a lot of respects. AC for instance has 1 or 2 very well animated key scenes per game and every other interaction has that same janky, awkward motion to it.
You can especially see it in the caves. Those were AC caves and animations as she squeezed through the cracks.
Like, I get it, but to truly make something next gen and feel new and fresh, we need more. We deserve more for the UNBELIEVABLE price tags they’re putting on these games.

Im really a proponent of ciritcal thinking. This always happens with big new games. You get your "minds eye" version from the first exposure to the thing, and from then immediately there's a sense of identity. I posit that, what if it was always like that but some just looked around it, either by choice or trusting a few misleading minutes at your first exposure.
I knew exactly what we where gonna get with as soon as i saw the first gameplay, its always the same gameplay formula like every other ubi title, just tweeked a bit.
I almost never care for reviews, but this time I’ll watch some. I was very underwhelmed by AC Mirage, and in a way this looks sort of the same. Is not just the graphics, in a way, somehow the game looks stiff.

I believe Star Wars fans have expressed valid concerns about Star Wars: Outlaws, others have outright dismissed the game. These dismissals often stem from a lack of faith in the developer or a belief that the game simply doesn't live up to the legacy of the Star Wars franchise. Downgraded - had this from a few Ubisoft games - The Division was most notable one I remember well. I never, ever look at a game due to the "Trailer" or "Live streams" of the game as they are not the actual ones that'll be released. Cyberpunk was another that comes to mind......

Cant wait to play a game with boring mechanics, lackluster story, protagonist shaped like a 2x6 with a jaw line that could chisel stone and overly monetized. Prime gaming. I am also sure I will be preached at and belittled throughout the game, sounds like a fantastic time.

It’s funny because you pushed back against people saying they didn’t like the game because it’s Ubisoft….and now you’re seeing why. This has been what’s happened with multiple games from them. It looks good at first then it constantly gets downgraded.
None of you will get what you want until Star Citizen finishes the basics of what they're doing....
What I mean to say is, every other major publisher has their tail tucked between their legs when it comes to stepping into the new territory of gaming, or they're too greedy with micro transactions to care about the progression of gaming.... So, until Star Citizen blows the lid off of what gaming will be- And make no mistake, they will, Every game that even slightly encroaches on that subject will fall short in more than one way... They have private investors to pay and you, the gamer, are not their most prized asset.... You are the cow they milk to quench the thirst of that investor.... The sooner you realize this, the better. I don't really agree on the Jawas ... they too got some uncanny valley thing going on . Even in your video , whenever it pans or focus on a Jawa , look at the eyes , it feels like plastic or metal marbles . They even got more shine than the droid
