I have owned 3 apple watches in the past. I keep trying them and always decide I don't use the smart features enough to keep me interested. I think it's interesting that Apple hasn't figured out a way to increase battery life to something that lasts at least 4-5 days. I'm sure so much power goes into the display, but I'll be curious to see when the battery technology improves. Thanks again!
I agree @ultradad. Apple would carve out a big niche if they had a ‘sport’ version of the watch with a bigger battery and throw some sapphire on the front. They obviously have the ability to do whatever they want to do, it’s just that they’re catering to the “average“ athlete for the time being IMO.
Another great review. For optical heart rate, Apple is doing a pretty damn good job. Helps to have the bankroll to test, test and test some more to get everything ‘right’. Thanks Dave!
Yep, the optical sensors on these watches are among the best on the market. Really impressive. I wish Garmin/Coros/Suunto/ Polar would find a way to mimic the design and add battery life to the mix!
@@ChaseTheSummit It was great, as usual. Thanks. I prefer my vantage v2 for running, but this is so much smarter and way more comfortable to wear… It is hard to pick only one. And I have them both.

Great review, especially, about the firmware, which makes sense and decided on the Apple Watch 6 cellular, budget friendly. And, by the way it is hard to type on a watch, lol, lol…
Chase the Summit.....congratulations for the video, I wanted to ask you for information. On the Apple Watch we have the possibility of the live track during an activity as happens with the garmin?
Out of curiosity, what problems do you have with Garmin watches? I find their watches smart enough, and they have stellar battery life compared to Apple's 18h "full day".

The garmin not so. Weird heart spikes on even walks. The optical heart rate is not great at all! - the above two metrics being off makes many of the multiple metrics garmin track meaningless. So where would you go from here? Keep training with the Apple Watch and wait to see if there is a Fenix 7? Is there a watch I’m missing? Sorry for the book of a comment!
Hey, thanks! I think you should be able to squeeze 6 hours of battery out of your Apple Watch for that race? Otherwise, there are lots of options from Garmin, COROS, Polar, and Suunto depending on your needs. No one knows when the next Fenix is coming but judging by the timeline it should be sometime soon.,
Mine is still 3 weeks away. 🤦♂️ Great review as always. I do wonder if Apple last minute gave up on their more ambitious update and just posted software updates and this minor screen bump.
That's my thoughts as well. However, the amount of work that goes into tooling up for a product release as big as the apple watch is a monumental task. Just minor tweaks to the case mean all new tooling for the casting process. It's hard to believe anything is "last minute" when you're dealing with the scale of apple. That said, the series 7 surely isn't as exciting as the new Macbook Pro 14 and 16. I certainly wish I could post a video about those puppies on this channel! Not really my niche lol.

I bought a Garmin Enduro but I miss my Apple Watch. The Enduro has amazing battery life and the activity tracking is pretty cool how you can customise which stats you want to see and stuff but as a watch it kind of sucks.
