Very different. We use a few Twi words but the inflections and tonalities are very different. Our patios is a combination of 18th century English, Scottish/Irish with West African influences and Hindi words. The accent varies according to region. There is no one Jamaican accent. The type of patois in the video is most commonly used in the Kingston/Spanish town region. We all understand each other but not necessarily all words or expressions used. Example, the part of Jamaica we use janga (Hindi) for shrimp, and others say swimp/shrimp. My region of Jamaica we say dunkunnu others say blue draws for a dish steamed in banana leaves or corn husk made with corn or cassava, coconut milk etc. I have many Ghanaian friends and we're always discussing differences and similarities. Ghanaian people are the type of friends you keep for life.

Hi Mom. Your accent is very similar to West Africans. Visit Ghana or learn some Twi and you will see.
Humbulani Mulaudzi I love Ghana so that makes me smile. Nevaeh is learning Twi for fun with my friend so ill definitely listen out too.
