So awesome! The backing track is incredibly tight and all the musicians pick up the vibe and run with it. We can try to pick out a favorite but they are all so good. Evertime you hear guitar is dead you will find such amazing players who can confirm elsewise! Stel, you have some great friends here and your solo is so good. Thanks for the compilation and putting this together for the guitar community. Cris, Thomas and Wes is a great pairing. How does anyone follow that! I mean really! Jason does an incredible job given the circumstances and passes it off to no other than Stel Andre! It only gets better from there. I have listened to this 20 times and still amazed by everyone . This is required listening to understand music, power, intensity and life. I love you all so much!
Here’s my issue... if you close your eyes and listen to this again, 99% of the players solos blend into one another. Everyone sounded practically the same with exception of Stel and Michael towards the end. (Stel seems to stand out as someone who really thinks about the note choice rather than how many notes are being played ) I know this might be an unpopular opinion, but if you got Vai, Satriani, Beck, Holdsworth, and a gang of others playing over the same track, you’d know instantly when someone else started playing... not only their play style, but tone too. Everyone had the same distorted/verb/delay tone and it came across as a “look at my riffs and how fast I can play” fest rather than Kiesel artists showing what’s different about their artistry and playing.. I’m not taking away from how talented everyone is, but as a consumer I get drawn to artists that try and show their artistry and have a voice rather than those who seems to wanna replicate a current trend or sound.
I respect your point of view bro.. although i believe the exact opposite. I have seen and also played in a lots of big jams in my career and this one was by far the best one. Players here sounded so unique and individual with each other. I can really tell which one is who by just listening to them. Being technical but also full of point is hard, and i believe all the highly skilled players on this video, really achieved that! Trully respect your point of view and indeed nowadays players are quite into shred and technique (which isnt bad in my oppinion) but u know.. we all evolve and play what our soul and taste commands. So i am very happy for all the Kiesel lads and ladies, that all of them offered such a unique character in their solos individually. Thank you for watching bro! Appreciated!
It's a single track/compilation. All of the different guitarists could blend in one song. That itself is an amazing quality. Different tones would have made it sound weird. :/
