It is negatively amazing that this band is unrecognized for their music. One of the few "true" punk rock bands that inspired everyone from Green Day to Alkaline Trio to Propaghandi to Bad Religion (yes, Bad Religion - their guitarist loves them). Their catalog should be required listening for anyone who wants to know about Punk Rock, Gilman, and life.
Saw these guys play when I was 15 or 16 years old in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at a club called Quarters on Center Street....1992 I believe....so many years later and I still love this band.
Damn … has it really been that long? Has love and life really been carrying us into a new day with this playing in the background in the crevices of my heart and mind for THAT long … getting old ain’t all that bad when you have such good tastes and sweet sweet memories … happy V day lovers of love… sinceriously
My roommates good friend stayed with us while on break from the Marines in the 90's and I had Choice of a New Generation playing 24/7 and to this day whenever I see him he brings it up as one of the best bands he discovered while crashing at our apartment
@@dreammilitia2282 Yes. Flip was very close friends with MLK. When MLK was shot his family wouldn't allow any photographers into their home. Flip offered his service but was refused so he spent his own money to fly to Memphis and once again offered his service as a photographer. He was told it was a waste of time because they wouldn't let any photographers in the home. He informed them that he was already in the home with MLK'S family. Needless to say he got the job. Flip was also a pioneering underwater photographer. The photos of Muhammad Ali boxing underwater were also taken by Flip
@@dreammilitia2282 Also, just noticed you did the cover. Very cool. Flip was from New Ulm just a stones throw from Mankato, where I live at the moment. ... It truly is outer space.
