The texts are of great religious and historical significance, as they are practically the only known surviving Biblical documents written before AD 100. The Dead Sea scrolls comprise roughly 825-872 documents, including texts from the Hebrew Bible. We’ll explore the Qumran area where the scrolls were discovered. We’ll be joined by Dead Sea Scroll editors, archaeologists and historians. The Scrolls will come to life as we ask some tough questions. Was John the Baptist an Essene as some claim? Very fascinating! I truly wish I could live and do research in these holy sites that bury so much mystery. My question is, how on earth did sheep get up on those rugged hills and what possible grazing ground could these animals find there... It's a desert!!! If the Dead Sea Scrolls could be unearthed in a place such as the Judaean desert, what more is waiting there to be discovered...? Just imagine, this was the very desert that our Lord Jesus wandered in for 40 days while being tempted by the devil!!!

John, was the son of a Hebrew Priest, "Zachariah, "and the cousin of the Messiah, Yahshua.

Yohannan, "John," had nothing to do with the writing of the DSS, by the time of his birth, they already had been written, and were probably already hidden in the caves at Qumran.
