Been working for Mr. Lewis for the last two years. Love my job and happy I went back to school for cnc programming. Very proud to be Lmt rifle owner as well.
I think LMT is positioned to capitalize on building optimized 6.5 Grendel carbines and rifles, with single stamp suppressed barrel options that meet 16” barrel lengths with permanent cans attached, that are still very compact little packages. Imagine a drop-in suppressed 12” Grendel in the MRP, for example.
@@LRRPFco52 when we overthrow the barrel rifle pistol regualtions and suppressor regs we can just do whatever we want?
fix the receiver lines please

Very helpfull. thanks
LMT..... the king of the ar15 world. LMT will most likely never lose the #1 spot!
Carl Lewis has been the face of innovation on the AR-15 since Eugene Stoner. From the MK18 to EBCG and MRP Upper receivers; hands down the best in the business.
IMO DoD should secure more LMT contracts for small arms.
The MRP is one of the greatest innovations to the Stoner family of rifles on the market.
Absolutely NOT!! LMT parts are hard to get as it is. It would be worse if DoD had contracts with them. Military and police contracts are going to take priority over civilian sales, so the civilian parts market would be even worse than it is now. Every time I check, the Enhanced BCG is sold out everywhere.
Dear Mr. or Mrs. DoD,
Please stay away from LMT. Thank you.
Sincerely,
A Worried Gun Owner
@@LRRPFco52 I tend to think the same thing.
Karl seems like such a good person. Really makes me want to buy a LMT rifle now.
I want to say how much I appreciate all the effort you put into all this.
Perhaps the most underrated content on this platform. You constantly make top tier informational content. We appreciate you
Holy crap!
I don't follow actors or sports but my 2 favorite people are Eugine Stoner and Karl Lewis.
Having access to this interview blows my mind, better than any movie or entertainment.
Thank you very much Mr. Lewis for the interview! Can't wait to finally be able to get one or two of your rifles!
My LMT is an incredible rifle. Karl Lewis is so unassuming you'd never know he's this giant in the industry. What an awesome interview!! Thank you
Agreed! They make the best rifle in the world, he's a self-made millionaire and it appears he has no ego.
Can’t wait until I can get my hands on an LMT rifle. Thanks for everything you guys do.
@Carl Lewis Work I agree! Two different LMT rifles are at the top of my rifle bucket list. A LMT MK18 Mod O upper on one of their MARS-L lowers will be in my hands ASAP after the wife and I buy another house.
What a great interview.
You just can't hide the admiration and respect between these two Men.
Thank you both.
I bought my LMT 308 in 2012 with a 16" chrome barrel and a 20" barrel. Later I got the 24" 6.5 barrel. It's the best rifle.
And very accurate. I cannot imagine why the us army didn't buy these for their dmr rifles. Triple like on the like button.
39:20 I totally agree the AR is not direct impingement. just because it has a gas tube like a DI system doesn't mean it's DI and anyone that understands basic mechanics can see that the bolt operates as a piston. Eugene Stoner himself called the AR an internal piston design. In the Stoner tapes on RUclips he talks about this very subject.
Brilliant and humble. Incredible interview.
Small Arms Solutions is the channel that keeps my gun enthusiast heart warm, healthy and pumping! All the best and success as well as nothing but respect & love for what you do & bring to light & table, towards you Chris! 🦅💯❤️🔥🫵🏼 the information & content you provide is second to none 🤘🏼
Thank you 🙏🏼
The amount of knowledge and experience sitting at that table is unreal. Thank you guys!
You can tell Mr. Lewis is BRILLIANT. SUPER SMART MAN.
he seemed down to earth as well!
This is exciting! Thanks to both of you for sitting down to do this
Great interview. My biggest complaint on this interview is it’s more Chris talking and telling the history and Karl going “ummm hmm” than Karl telling the history of his own products.
Karl does not like talking about his accomplishments. Sometimes I had to pull it out of him, he is such a humble man. I wanted you all to know the extent of his influence in the industry.
Eagle Arms!!!! That was my very 1st AR I ever purchased! Back about 1990! OMG I had NO idea Karl was associated with that!
Do you still have that rifle?
@@justinm.791 No I sold it to a coworker 15 yrs ago....
@@corkydukeII5898 Too bad, would've been cool if you'd still had it.
@@justinm.791 I agree. I didn't REALLY wanna sell it, but he kept bugging and bugging me to sell it, sooooo....(I used the $$ to buy a nice Nikon Digital camera I had been wanting...)
Karl thank you for gaping your ports, have a 14.3 that was chopped from 16, still cycles steel super smooth and getting 3000 fps with m193. God bless
One legend showing bringing us another legend. Thank you
Love my MRP & MWSE, just got lucky that they were my first AR's, as I was new to the AR world. It was the multiple barrel lengths and calibers that was the decision maker. Awesome interview!
Excellent interview Chris and thanks to Mr. Lewis making himself available.
Everyone has been searching for the "do all rifle" and I think with LMT's quick change barrel we've got it. Thanks LMT.....
This channel is ever refreshing. The real deal on information and knowledge.
CHRIS THIS INTERVIEW WITH MR. LEWIS IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL ! IT IS A STEP ABOVE THE JFK DOCUMENTARY. WHICH BY IT SELF WAS AWARD WINNING. ! I always look forward to your next Masterpiece Achievement!
Your Phone # and I P address has been reported to the Authorities.
Great interview. As always, thank you Chris and Family. I highly appreciate Mr. Lewis taking the time to tell his story.
I believe I am a bigger LMT fanboy than you are, Chris. Absolutely fantastic rifles! However, one gripe about them is they need to release more to the consumer.
LMT MRP best of the best
i think the big money is with the military conracts.. but i get your point. i`ve would like to see more on the sivilian market
@@brighthought11 Amen, brother! With 1000’s of rounds down range, my LMT MWS still shoots clover leafs.
I recently got the Estonian Rifle and honestly I sold off most of my ARs and kept the LMT. It is everything I've been searching for and I've been searching for a long time. I liked the LWRC but felt it was so freaking heavy. Thank you Karl for releasing it to the public. I also bought a 16" DI barrel to go with it as my backup.
Chris so excited. That laugh. He is jumping up and down in his chair.
Great interview, it was entertaining from start to finish. LMT makes some amazing stuff.
Chris thanks so much for snagging this interview with a very smart firearms designer....I am a big LMT fan, even wrote a small article for their 2012 catalog and it was published....Thanks again....77Bronc, Louisiana
God, I feel old...I was in the Marine Corps in Vietnam in 1972 shooting the M16A1. It was what we had then, and if you took care of it, it just worked. I was light, and you could carry a lot of mags. I would have liked the the M14, but I didn't get one. Love this channel.
Oh this is going to be a treat to watch and listen to.
to watch a legend interview his idol has been a real pleasure...thanx for this video Chris .
Wow, Karl Lewis himself. Very coincidently, I've been shopping for barrels for my LMT MLC. I'll probably settle on a 12.5 and 14.5 mid-length, 'internal piston' of course. The gun came with an 11.5 carbine length. Lewis seems like such a calm, collected, and real kind of guy. The ideal American business success story. Excellent video. Thanks, Chris
Awesome. Thank you Mr. Lewis and Mr. Bartocci for making this happen. MK18, Enhanced BCG, and Chrome choice I'm looking forward to watching.
I have seen every one of your videos and this is one I’ve been really looking forward to watching. Thanks Chris, Karl and of course Heather!
Great interview. I would love to watch a 10 hour series of in depth detailed info on all the improvements they ever came up with.
Amazing interview and waited a long time. I met Karl at the NRAAM back in 2019 and a pleasure to meet him.
Would have never known how cool Karl is unless you did this interview! Epic
I've been looking forward to this interview.
Thanks for getting this interview up, someone interviewing this guy was long overdue
I love all things LMT, I just get frustrated because I can't seem to find a way to get most of it. I've been trying to find a .308 upper receiver forever.
Keep an eye out. I was able to get an LM8 ( LMT alternative to m-lok) 308 upper off their website 2 months ago on sale. Check around the internet for those being sold elsewhere
@@benjaminmccooey1000 agreed. I picked up an LM8 also, at a huge discount. Everyone wants mlock now so they just gave those slick sides away.
What a great interview... The wealth of knowledge... Wow!!!
What a great interview, Thank you very much for a rare educational opportunity. Also want to send a big thank you to Carl Lewis for providing such a candid informative look into LMT history.
You can see the excitement in Chris’s composure, it’s an authentic respect and admiration that shows through in the video that cannot be faked or hidden. I too would be giddy! Great too see, Mr.Lewis is a Legend!
This is very true. Karl is someone I have great respect and admiration for.
Thank you so much for being able to provide us with this interview!
I wish you would have been able to ask about how he came up with deciding to drill the gas port at an angle, and why he chooses to cryogenicly treat his barrels.
My heroes are Jim Browning, Eugene Stoner, Jim Sullivan, Mikal Klashnekoff and now Carl Lewis!
I've speculated about the changes made to the bolt and carrier on the LMT Enhanced Bolt for years. Thank you for having Mr. Lewis on to explain these things in his own words!
Best 97 minutes I've watched in many moons. Great interview with an apparent very humble and extremely knowledgeable man.
Awesome interview. I’m a huge LMT fan and hearing Mr. Lewis’ story is nothing short of inspiring. Thanks for putting this out!
You made this LMT fanboy very happy with this interview. Thank you both!
Thanks for this very interesting interview. Amazing how the greats in the industry like Karl are so remarkably humble.
Luckily, I got into LMT/PWA early in my Military career and own an early MRP Rifle and an early MRP CQB Piston. Quality kit👍
Great interview and so awesome to finally hear this dude talk
This is a goldmine of information on modern AR evolution, thank you for doing this.
Thank you for this fascinating look at the platform evolution.
I'll have to watch full video in segments. I really like the "nuts & bolts" that your channel provides. ♡
Thank you for showing us Da Man. Thanks Karl for bringing us great AR designs.
This is such a great interview for anyone in any profession. I would love to work at LMT Defense.
Just bought the R20 Rahe! Crown jewel of my collection!
Content level 1000! This is great! Thanks for doing this.
As a newish guy to the gun industry I want to say this was a great interview to watch I'm building a lmt now but I wish I would of gotten on this wagon a long time ago and really appreciate WHT lmt is doing and has done.
Thank you! I have a pre ban EA-15 from my father. I love learning the history and even better hearing it from you and Karl Lewis himself.
I looked up an LMT bcg and it was over 300 dollars and it was sold out. I knew it was a good product. Glad you got Mr. Lewis in an for interview.
Edit: The controllability is insane. Learned a lot today. Never thought about cadence of bcg.
Thank you Karl Lewis for providing my brothers in the New Zealand Army with the fantastic LMTNZ16 Weapon system and dam great our boys have one of the best rifles in the world as standard issue and thank Eugene Stoner and co for designing the majic AR15 rifle ,I did my Basic in 86 and qualified on a M16A1
The first rifle I was ever issued as a contractor was one of the original lmt 10.5 uppers on a colt lower that had long since been retired. That thing lasted forever, endured more abuse than any rifle I've ever used and is probably still trucking today. A fantastic product that I would never hesitate to take anywhere in the world.
I bought my lmt lower 12 years ago and it's my favorite that mil spec trigger is great on it .
It blows my mind that Karl Lewis is an actual machinist and can make an AR out of blocks of aluminum. A lot of AR companies just bank on the founder being ex special forces and therefore knows guns.
Thank you so much for this Chris!
Mr Lewis is a wealth of knowledge and a gentleman aswell, this definitely will be watched multiple times.
I’m sure this easily could have been three hours
Thanks so much for taking the time to do this.
Your channel is my favorite firearms channel, and I think it really is the best out there in terms of useful information and history, especially with the AR platform. I wished you had more subscribers.
Just acquired my second LMT rifle. First was an early MWS308 16” with quad pic rail. Second is a MARS 308 13.7” with p/w LMT FH and M-LOK rail. The fit and finish is second to none!
Watched many of your videos with much appreciation for the knowledge that you have imparted. The interview with Mr. Lewis was outstanding. What a pleasure to see such a quality and service oriented professional ! I can see why governments trust him with their military needs. Wish there were more CEOs in America with such high business standards as Mr. Lewis ! Thanks to this platform for showing this !
Wow, really loved the in depth interview and how you explored some of the details of that history.
Wow Chris this is one of the best interviews that I've seen from anyone in a long time. Thanks for bringing us along for the adventure and I can't wait to see more on the LMT 9mm. Keep up the great work guy's.
I needed to see this. I have really been wondering about this company and now I know. Awesome video my friend
Great manufacturer, the only "weakness" I could find on their products: no cold hammer forging! Hope to see it, one day.
This was a super wholesome interview from a couple of very big names in the industry. I enjoyed every minute of it!
Big fan of LMT products.
The rifles are outstanding I have owned 2 over the years.
Love the pistol grips and have one on my Diemaco AR shorty SBR.
Thanks for the Eagle arms info because I never knew that.
this is pure Gold!!! Cris has great questions and hes is on point. Thank u!!!!
Great interview, can’t believe your channel does not have more subscribers.
Didn't expect him to be so soft spoken. Most guys in this industry are yellers because they're deaf from shooting without hearing protection
Great interview. Great job on the camera and audio work too. Hope to see your channel grow. Lets cross that 100K sub mark !
Thank you both, enjoyed very much
Such an honor to learn from you both.
For me, the best episode about the best iteration of the AR platform by the best small arms channel on social media. . . PS: I’ve never seen Chris look happier. Thanks Chris & Heather for this channel🙏!
Great interview because of your platform i'm also an LMT fanboy.
Wow! What an interview. I have been a fan of LMT since 2012. I wish they were easier to find. Thanks for doing this interview. Top notch
This was so awesome . lots of awesome info . I knkw I learned a good bit ..
LMT and Centurion will always be my favorite AR15s period..
Also Holosun HS515CM , HS512C and HS515GM are way better people guve them credit for . i would for sure take HS515 over Trijicon MRO.
Thank you for this discussion 🙏
Two legends just chatting it up, man this is gold.
One of the best interviews I've seen in a long time. Very impressive. Thank you Karl and SmallArmsSolutions.
Amazing interview, thank you.
Man that was awsome! Thank you guys very much. I love lmt. I have 3 as of right now and looking to add atleast one more
@SmallArmsSolutions What a fantastic video and interview!!!
Mr. Lewis/LMT's story is extremely interesting to me and it would've been incredible to be a part of it!
Mr. Lewis appears to be a gentleman and despite his success doesn't have a super-sized ego. The tippy top of my rifle bucket list has been an LMT MK18 Mod 0 upper on one of their MARS-L SOPMOD lowers, followed by one of his MARS-L 556 Quad rifles.
Cheers from Ukraine ! Awesome channel with tons of awesome weaponry info. Absolutely recommend this channel to all tacticool men world! Thank you very much for all this titanic work you do here .God bless America! Слава Україні!
God bless Ukraine! Worked in your country a few times!
This was so cool! I'm just sorry I didn't watch it sooner. Anywho, thank you for sharing this, and thank you to Karl for doing it!
I have an early Coal Valley A2 HB and that rifle is extremely accurate. Even after reaming the chamber to 5.56 to stop the .223 match chamber from popping primers with 5.56. I read somewhere those were Douglas premium barrels and I believe it.
Been Waiting For This Awesome Video Thanks Karl n Chris 🔥😀🔥😊🔥😎👍🏼
