I was in this concert in 2nd row.... One of the most amazing experience in my life. Gilmour saw this guy playing music with glasses two days before the show and asked him to play on stage... Amazing!
David paid that man well, David will pay up for real talent. He's not a greedy man. Whatever it takes to make that project perfect. 100 💯 percent perfection that is David Gilmour 👌 every time. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
gilmour and his wife were walkin through venice and that chap on stage was playin glasses with water. gilmour was that impressed by him he asked him to play onstage the next night. what a lucky bastard!!!!!!!!!!!!! its on the special features on live from gadansk.
Saw Dave on this tour in LA. The entire audience sang along to “Wish You Were Here”. It was unbelievably cool to sing, what in my opinion, is one of the greatest (Like top 3) songs ever, from one of the greatest albums ever, with one of the greatest guitarist ever.
I've got tickets to Rodger waters farewell tour, next June in England. I'm not into his politics, I do prefer Gilmour, but it will still be an epic gig.
I don't think the guy was hitting the chord changes until around 2:45. Luckily the chord he's staying on fits fairly well over all of David's playing. Maybe nerves got to him. Don't blame him either. Going from playing on the street to playing with a rock star in a massive audience within the same day is insane pressure.
@@bonheur2658 Yeah at 2:45 he catches on but before that you can clearly see David Gilmour moving the guitar to signify a chord change and the guy doesn't follow along for the first few times. I've played the song before my self, I know where the chord changes are.
I came for the video when David asking this man to play with his wine glasses on concert, incredible job to this man and congrats because now David knows how to play glasses too...
This seems such an old vid to me with comments from 12 years ago... then I remember I saw pigs flying across the crowd at Western Springs Auckland some 30+ years ago. (22 Jan 88). Oops, time flies, but PF lives on fondly in memory as well as today
In the title, you should put David Gilmour and Igor Sklyarov(the wine glasses) A street musician, signed hours after the concert Im spanish.Because my english xd
Oh come on. ROger lost his voice at this age. Have you even listened to the 70s when Roger was there? David does have an epic voice, but ROger's style is different and incomparable. Don't judge Pink Floyd with the current condition. Roger is equally great. Concept albums would be nothing without Rog.
The heart of Pink Floyd is Nick Mason. Gilmour is more like the talent of the Floyd. As much as Wright was. I don't like Waters' shows. But he was the creative part of the band. Every comment has its point.
6:56 whoa!!! A wrong note by David Gilmour! It kinda makes up for the Glass players missing chord changes lol what a great video! By the way, which ones Pink? #LongLive
When you make a mistake, play it twice and act like it was already a part of the original. 20 years of guitar has taught me to make your mistakes the main part of the show.
You are right about everything, but it`s Gilmour(not Gilmore), also the name was invented by Syd Barrett, but i agree, David Gilmour was the essensial part to make Pink Floyd the biggest band on the earth.
Gilmour NEVER seems to play the guitar solo immediately before the words (Part III) - The third solo in the song, I guess. NEVER!! Which is a pain in the azum, as it's a wicked solo... Anyway, this is cool. Heard it a while ago, but it's always fun to watch it.
@jgroch Oops, my bad on the spelling. That's why you don't get drunk and type at the same time ;-) It's true about Syd and the name, I was referring to who put them on the map more than the creation of the actual name itself. Their popularity didn't really take off until Syd was already out of the band. I can mostly appreciate Syd's sound when I'm trippin' face, he definitely had that quality to his sound. Would've been cool to hear a Pink Floyd with all of them together.
The division Bell is one of the greatest albums to me and Water hasn't put a note on that one, altough I have to admit that The Wall and Dark Side of the moon are masterpieces and Water were vital for the final result, but as a Band, Pink Floyd can do it without Waters.
It was the only concert I ever had an opportunity to see, in Houston. It was also the time they just came out with their blimp and it flew overhead. The Pink Floyd blimp was actually enroute to the concert and got pretty close, but was told to get away. They forgot about the lasers and was concerned it would cause the blimp to explode or crash. That night, it started to rain during the concert and David even got shocked by his guitar! He put it down, got another one. I'm sure there were a lot of equipment that got ruined that night.
@@satyakidas7045Endless river wasnt an original album, it was an album pf scrapped songs and projects, it was released to honor richard wright due to his death. Pink floyds true last album is Division bell, in which they clearly didnt need roger waters.
i like to think the glass guy was like, oh probably a indie band or something, excepting like at max a thousand people and then he realizes he is playing whit pink floyd
The buggers wouldn't play that on Brighton beach...oh no..not here in Blighty...Venice yes,UK no... Venice...that well known bastion of... historic.... rock...bands...of all things...old and...Pink...Floyd...
Honestly, I hate the post Waters Floyd. Too emotional for my taste. I honestly hate how most songs on The Division Bell were co-written with with Polly. Don't me wrong, there's some good post Waters' stuff, but I perfer stuff like Childhood's End, Comfortably Numb, Time, etc. over Keep Talking, Sorrow, Learning to Fly, etc. But yes Gilmour is the best thing to happen to Floyd. Without him they would have gotten as far as they did. They would have they would have stayed where they were.
OMG he forgot to switch on Dm from the first Gm, fortunately it's not so noticeable because the sound of the glasses wasn't clear, but if were him i'd Jump off a bridge as soon as the concert was over😥

Gilmour knew exactly where he would fit into this music too. Incredible ear.
The man the legend David gilmore !
Woow congratulations😮
You are a lucky human being to have witnessed this amazing work

Thank you for the upload! The official footage was too short.
Incredible! What an amazing opportunity for Igor! David Gilmour is such a cool guy.
The Masters of sound, not surprised David asked this guy to join them, what a top Bloke he is though...Meddle was my first album as a teenager...🤔🤔😎

It's not improv, he just stayed in the same game for the solo, and changed at the perfect timing when solo changed.

@@N0rmad You sure ? Beacause i saw other covers obline with the other person playing the same chord till this moment.
He might’ve not been looking at Gilmour when he signaled the chord changes
I hope he goes on a tour one last time or smttt
you are right together Gilmour and Waters are the perfect creative machine to make great music and great lyrics

thx for recording this! I was looking for it like crazy!
What to say,David says everything...
His guitar says everything....
Gilmour is Pink Floyd, i saw Waters, awesome show but not the same ,the voice and sound, thats not Floyd, Gilmour is the heart of P.F.

Amazing.🎉
So, did he get paid by the hour or by glass?
😂
😂 that seemed to be the only thing he realized while he didn’t quite realize who he was going to play with 😅

good and unusual. wouldn't it be cool to turn up and find that randomly happening?
lol Yeah... 12 years later but whatever.
with out gilmour they would have not become as famous as they are and will continue to be
Pink Floyd .. Always the best
good!!!!! error in the tittle "Shine on YOU crazy diamond"
Gilmour is the heart,Roger is the brain. No body
Syd is the soul
Like ALL great bands. The Beatles, The Who... Name it ! Together, awesome. "Divided, we fall"...
...Nick is the drummer, and Richard was the keyboard player.
I think Roger is the heart... or maybe soul
It reminds me of Wishbone Ash somehow!
@borbottante no problem my friend!! you have good taste!!Pink Floyd forever
I saw herersal on youtube, do the wine glass guy misses chords onstage? in about 2:00.
Yeah i think he missed that one
I noticed the same thing, gilmour tried to send him all body signals to make him understood to change the chords :D
Must of been *his nerves* with *thousands of people watching* instead of few while many walking by.
*Hell, he was under the spotlight.*
And he had one day to practice
Oh please
Awsome LOL

The other two, well they were good.
But concept? Nah, No ROger, no concept
