I've seen tons of videos of old ladies and teenage girls explaining how to knit and how easy it is, but this is the first video that I understand. Well done.
Just made this tonight. It was my first time using a loom to knit, and this tutorial made it super easy. Two skeins of yarn made a pretty long scarf with this pattern. :) Thanks for the video!
@redlexi45 agreed... music has been taken out of the recent videos as a result. A viewer commented so I ran a test... The music hides background noises... my furnance pops on and off during filming but I think people are fine for that. Thanks again for your feedback.
Oh My!! I meant to Thank You for this tutorial. My Sister and I have tried to figure out how to make one of these loopy scarves that I saw in a shop - and neither one of us have ever created anything that looks even close! So again, MUCH Appreciation!!
@TIsbell68 I have a tutorial on the STYLER PEN itself... I use a pipe cleaner to pull the yarn through or you can use something to jam it down through the top... but the pipe cleaner is the easiest idea.
These are the kinds of videos that made me really enjoy watching you. This kind of innovation in technique and the actual craft is what really got me hooked. I think it's your strong suit ;)
i'm a knitting noob, and i've never seen anything like this. string is amazing, in the right hands with the right tools. needless to say, i am very impressed by this technique. xD cool tutorial =D
you could also use a long eye beading needle to thread your styler pen. It was nice meeting you in Listowel today Mike. I look forward to seeing you next month!
@Stephy27Pooh You could use two strands of red heart but it not going to look the same......the fun fur makes it have certain look that plain yarn can't copy..........Chanel @ mikeys help desk ;)
@TIsbell68, I use a bread tie like a giant needle threader, I double it over, put the yarn in the bread tie loop, then thread that through the styler. Wretha
I made this scarf last night...LOVE IT!!! I did it in a very soft furry black and sparkley black, it is gorgeous!!! Mike I love your videos. I've learned everything I know from you. Do you know if its possible to do this on one of the round looms? The round ones are easier to take with you because they aren't as bulky. Thank you!!!
I think if you bend a piece of flora wire (or any kind of wire actually) in half - it should be longer than your STYLER PEN, put the two free ends into the Pen; leaving out the loop in the wire on one end. Feed the yarn or yarns through the wire loop bringing it through about six inches or so. Then Simply pull the wire through the Pen and it will 'thread' the yard through! Hope this helps. (and makes sense).
Simply bend a piece of floral wire in half and stick the two free ends into the Styler Pen then string the yarn through the wire loop and then pull the wire by the free ends straight through the Styler Pen - it will carry your yarn/yarns right on through! VOILA threaded Styler Pen!
Mikey, I love you. You taught me how to crochet. That is why when I was looking for Loom Knitting tutorials I was so excited to see that you have A series on Loom Knitting. There is though one thing that I will say. It really is not A critisism or anything that would get me to unsubscribe from your channel and leave the crowd. It is just A friendly and I hope that I come across as being friendly when I say it. I am in the UK. I am English. Whilst I appreciate that you are Canadian and therefore speak Canadian English You have to remember that there are words in Canadian English that have A totally different meaning in British English. Shag is A British English slang word for something that certainly doesn't have the same meaning as the Canadian definition. In British English the word shag means an activity that you would do in the Bedroom. If you know )and I really hope that you do) what I mean. Like I said this is not any sort of crtitsism this is A friendly word of advice. I hope that you know that. I for one will always love, respect and support you in all that you do forever. (On a lighter note. It was really funny to hear you say it) Love always and happy, happy crochet, loom knitting and any of your other yarn crafts.
thank so much how to make this i think it so cool. i just made one for my mother for christmas i'll sent ya a pic on facebook later thanks agine i don't loom with out ya.
Anyone else see how one side has more pegs than the other when making the large fringe loops? ...Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful scarf but shouldn't the fringe be the same on both sides?

Do you have a tutorial for the stand? I would love one of those!
LOL love the nose hair comment!
*feeding that styler pen with fuzzy yarn is the worst, any hints to make it easier?
hi i'm from australia and would to know how to do a baby blanket or single bed so i can c how to join together the pieces
luv your work thanks toni
where, oh, where! did you get that thing to hold the knitting loom!? I need on in my life.
@Tlsbell68 I insert the yarns then I just suck on it like a straw...make sure not to choke on it :)
Try using a crochet hook ,, G or H, which ever size fit through your Styler
Pen... . It is so much easier. Hope this helps. Good luck. :-)
