    This is a strange development in a country that won't allow you to remove stone fences on your homestead to preserve the heritage of the farm ground. Yet they will allow mining waste to drain from a peninsula into a beautiful freshwater lake. I think the odds of them succeeding in this current political climate is diminished.
    Praying that the Swedish Homestead endures for generations...

      "Jahdereh 15" Exactly, but Sweden has no coal power plant (only nuclear, wind and water), but when we have too little electricity, we buy from countries like Germany that have coal power plants.

    • @candidethirtythree4324
      @candidethirtythree4324 7 лет назад +3

      No, in Sweden they burn their garbage to make electricity, they even offered the US free plans on how to make them but the oil companies own all of America so the US told Sweden to fuck off. LOL

    • @candidethirtythree4324
      @candidethirtythree4324 7 лет назад +5

      Yes, they have been doing it since 1904 so they have perfected the process to the point where their air scrubbers filter out 99% of the pollution caused by burning garbage. It was those scrubbers that they were providing the construction plans for. Only 1% of their garbage ends up in landfills, it is the stuff that they can't burn or recycle. Lots of other countries have taken them up on their offer and are now burning their garbage too.
      sweden.se/nature/the-swedish-recycling-revolution/
      If the US was not so corrupt and did not let despicable oil barons make all the laws in this country, we could have solved our garbage AND energy problems long ago.

      And if the libtards and their environazi friends didn't have so much influence, we would have cheaper energy, and have long since been energy independant. And if our government didn't cave in to union bullies or make policies that screwed over domestic businesses we'd have jobs and no trade deficit. See what I did there? There's plenty of blame to go around- no need to blame it on the favored whipping boy (low hanging fruit) of the day...

    • @peterford9369
      @peterford9369 7 лет назад +8

      pyroman6000 True enough, BUT!, if there weren't, enviro nazies,, as u say,, and people that gave a dam about the state of or states,, woodlands would have been ravaged, over fishing, animal kills for money etc would be rampant and uncontrolled. Businesses care about one thing,, their billions in profits. How many of trumps kids have done a dam thing to help anyone but their own wallets. Just one example. Nature HAS to be preserved or at least replaced as used. Before there were regulations companies stripped the land of everything they wanted, in the name of progress, supposed cheaper fuels, materials etc. Can u say ethanol. That wasn't a tree hugger invention.

    We do have very similar laws in Canada that favours mining companies as opposed to citizens.
    A few years ago, in order to gain attention from our politicians, a group of citizens put a mining claim under our Parliament. They proceeded with the claim at the same pace the mining company did on the area where they lived. The mining project did stop but the group of citizens do not want to give up the mining claim, making sure they will keep some pressure if another controversial mining project arise anywhere on our province/country.
    Keep up your good work.

      Per Nilsson do you really think the government and Swedish oligarchs care about rules and regulations. Swedes and Norwegians make an average of less than $20,000 a year while the rulers and corporations make a ton of cash because they don't have to follow the rules.

    • @hejamodo

      The Cynic Sweden is not any different to any other country in that regard, so if you don't own the mineral rights the one who does have a right to mine them. But there are a lot of hurdles to get over before that happens. They may or may not have to move, and at the same time LKAB is moving an entire city up north.
      And by the way, the median income in Sweden is $32 000

    The power of corporations is out of control! Interestingly the biggest land owner here in Latvia, excluding the state, is a Swedish company, but the government here has recently made it much harder for foreign corporations to own land by requesting they learn/speak Latvian. Some say it is protectionist, others say it will be economically retarding on an already poor country still recovering from years of soviet occupation. Good luck Simeon!

To all but spit on all your hard work along with the damage that will be done to the land and surrounding water ways is beyond belief. With all my outrage being put forth, after all, this is how a socialist State is run. I say let us all in the RUclips Swedish Homestead community email bomb what ever department of the Government is in charge of this atrocity. I will email til my fingers bleed. This will shut down there internet and perhaps force them to listen. It works well here in the States. I want to echo Samuel Luria, come to the States. I know that here in New England there are quite a few farms for sale. I would be proud to have you folks as neighbors. There are lots of farms around this country still owned by aging people who want to see their land stay as farm land. The homesteader community well help you find a new start. Do not allow the Swedish Government any more of your tax money. We are praying for you.

    Such a travesty ! Homesteaders have so many restrictions, yet big corporations can pass money around and create such destruction all in the name of making batteries for cars that are supposed to help "save" the environment. This should not be allowed. People, children, animals, trees, and a way of life is more important than car batteries. If there is anything we, your subscribers, can do to help stop this from happening, please let us know. Prayers to you and to the other families! Don't give up, keep doing what you are doing and have faith. We are all behind you 100%....... What company is doing this if I may ask? I would like to create a petition and write letters to the company disgust with what they are attempting to do. Find out if you have ANY type of wildlife on the properties, trees, or indigenous flora found ONLY in your area that falls under protection clauses! Recharge Nature....not batteries !!!!!

    This is an awful side of electric cars that people probably don't even realize. Do you get any kind of compensation for having to move? I'm in the US and these things happen here. We get compensation for having to move but it's not always what the land is worth. My grandpa lost 1,000's of acres when the government took it for a bombing range. It belonged to his father and he wanted to pass it on to his children. They already had a bombing range comprising several thousand acres. Cities take land for highways, airports, and other developments. We think we are secure when we buy land but unfortunately that's not the case. And the more we have, the higher risk that we are. Good luck to you.

    • @subwarpspeed
      @subwarpspeed 7 лет назад +1

      Yes if they still can live there (own it) they get some compensation and the ones wanting to start a mine can buy it forcefully. I don't know of how much the money it would be but can't imagine anyone wanting to forcefully sell their property like this.
      Property rights and Usufruct (found that word via wikipedia) has been in the debate in the last year in Sweden.

    • @brandoncaldwell95
      @brandoncaldwell95 7 лет назад +1

      subwarpspeed Here in the US its inoment domain. The government buys land and pays legal current value plus cost of and structures and trees. Forest trees are worth less then trees used for landscaping. They do this for roads, cities, schools, highways, ect. Companies cant do that. They have to obtain the mineral rights or pay the owner to have access to them by striking a deal. If someone else owns the land, and another owns the mineral rights, They have to pay to have access to the minerals and pay to have land surface rights but are at victim where the land owner wants the road. If you dont agree to give them access, then they will scan or drill close to your land to get guestimate readings of your property. Its a pain, but keeps us protected but from the government. I have friends and farmers who delt with both sides. From oil drilling lost land to highway construction.

    • @urflofit2010
      @urflofit2010 7 лет назад

      Also when a family has land for generations the government will focus taking that spot because they most likely will have what is called alloidial title which gives the owner the same rights as a king on his own land. Most people have lost the right to get alloidial title to their land and don't really own the land they have paid for, even though they think they do.

    It's similar in Canada. To be completely secure you have to own the mineral rights (and maintain them by "exploring" on a regular basis) under the land.
    From what I understand they have an obligation to restore the land after they are done, but it's not uncommon for these operations to declare bankruptcy before they do.

    Simeon I'm so sorry to hear your news. I live in Minnesota, my wife and I ( over past 20 years) have purchased parcels of land which surround our lake home and surrounding brook that feeds our lake. We amassed 240 acres and entered into a Conservation Easement with the State of MN through the MN Land Trust. We wrote covenants ( in perpetuity) that the land cannot be developed ever. It stays natural and will protect our lake in our small way from development and possible pollution. One caveat to this a few of the parcels did not have the mineral rights in the deed and remained with the railroad company that once owned this property. We have tried our best to mitigate the possibility of what you are going through but it looms for us as well. I hope the Swedish Government will see itself clear into rejecting the license in the end. We are praying for you to that end. Take care my friend

    I live in Canada, another socialist country. When you rely on government to look after you this is what happens. Citizens are renters with no ownership rights. In order to restore your individual rights and freedoms the first thing you have to get through your head is that when you rely on government to provide health, education, welfare, unemployment insurance, baby bonuses, subsidies, pensions etc. you by definition relinquish ownership and control over your life. I come to this conclusion after being a life long Canadian who has observed what has happened around him in his own country.
    Christians have traditionally unconditionally given aid to others, governments always have conditions for the same service.

    From Wikipedia: Sweden
    Expropriation. The right of state or municipality to buy property when it is determined to be of "particular public interest", is regulated in Expropriationslagen (1972:719).[16] The government purchases the property at an estimated market value plus a 25% compensation. The law also states that the property owner shall not suffer economic harm because of the expropriation.
    Simeon, Are these the rights of Sweden you are concerned with? Do you (your father?) own the mineral rights? The way to know is to read the deed (as we know it in the States, perhaps it is called something else in Sweden), the ownership document received when the farm was purchased. There is much to prove in expropriation, "particular public interest." If the mineral rights are owned by others, that was part of the purchase transaction when you father purchased the farm.

I really don't know what families are able to do, but hopefully you have enough neighbors to make a difference. Or, get very lucky and find some endangered species that would be threatened, if drilling were allowed to take place. Best of luck to you all.

    I have been a negative for battery power expansion but more for the fact of the disposal of the used toxic residual materials that are produced from the recycling process. Didn't even consider the environmental cost of gaining materials for the initial production of the batteries. Sorry to say big business mostly always gets their way. Unfortunately in our society, money talks, loud and pompous. All supposedly in the name of progress.
    Unfortunately we've been sold on battery over combustion engines not considering the consequences of battery production and recycling. Any time u question the devastation of battery recycling, check out the videos of Chinese recycling fields with waste from laptop and other battery powered items,,, can we say cell phones. No resource is safe. Look at fracking. Maybe not in our lifetime,, but think about your grandkids.

      Latest batteries can be recycled 100%! The need is for new batteries and some countries are afraid they miss out on this new 'goldmine'. There is enough of the stuff available for the next million years it is only not located in large quantities in the western world. So every little bit they can get to ride this wave of relative high prices it will be very valuable. In time there will be enough resources available also from recycled batteries that wil drive the price down and thus the profit for mining it will be very small or even impossible. This is a transitional time and those times are the most difficult. The world was also turned upside down when electric cars lost to the fossil fuel cars in the 1900's. Then everyone started digging for oil.

On the other hand, Government is going to allow them to do it if it happens. Hope you can fight this well. You and your neighbors should start thinking now about demands for restitution to cover the costs of relocating if this operations begin and make the place uninhabitable and unprofitable for your operations and have something ready to present immediately when necessary. In the US there are laws about 'eminent domain' where the government can 'take' you land if it is in the 'greater public interest.' It is much harder for a private, for-profit company to get the permission to 'take' your land. If this is true, I must say that I am very disappointed in the Swedish government system in this situation. I find it hard to think that the Allemansrätt would not apply here in some fashion. You situation seems to be absolutely counter to that principle. @EmilReiko 6 лет назад +1

      Nope, i described the historical role of the state in a capitalist society. Aiding the economic ruling class by disposessing the small producers (forcing them into the working class) and making the commons avaiable for private corporate exploitation.
      You produce you eat equals substance farming not accumulation of capital.
      Capitalism or rather the process of accumulating capital is defined by somebody owning means of production and a mass of people owning nothing, not even land to grow food on. The ones without productive property have to sell their work to the ones who owns, and they will sell their work for less than it is worth - thus profit is generated and capital is accumulated. A society based on these particular social relations between owners and workers, within the sphere of production can be defined as being capitalist.

      There are sure a lot of people that think it's socialist and point to it as an example of the benefits of socialist programs. I only know what I've been told. According to the way Simeon stated it though, the government can just come along and say "get off YOUR property because WE'RE going to let this corporation dig it up" without them having anything to say about it. Here in the US, they still have to win in court first. The standards have changed though. They used to only be able to take your property for public projects like a bridge or a school. Now they can use comparative values of usage, which I think is quite arbitrary. They can take it if they determine your property if they determine it will be more valuable (probably for tax purposes) as part of a mall parking lot than as your shoe repair shop.

    I am on your side regarding this matter. However !!! The government has to care about the whole country and all its people. The financial gain from this, will benefit many families, and provide many jobs for other families. It is unfortunate that your family and neighbouring families have to be the ones uprooted. I do have a question. In Sweden, do you own the mineral rights on your land, or will you recieve royalties from the extracted minerals ? And secondly, do you even own the land ?

    • @MrTeko75
      @MrTeko75 6 лет назад +2

      Stealing land and giving it someone else isn't what is government is supposed to be. Security and property rights should be the only powers the government has. If we follow your logic, then all the government has to do is let in many foreigners. The more people the more power the government gets. That is not right. If they bought the land without mineral or water rights, then they are in a jam for sure. However, if they owned the land, then it should be up to the company to purchase the land if it is available for sale. In America, companies also have to have proper zoning. Zoning is another layer of protection of peoples' land. In addition for the testing, stipulations and qc should be imbedded into the permit to repair the land when they are done. Additionally, you should be compensated for the use of your land. In end, businesses and governments colluding to take property rights away, sounds more like a progressive Marxism rather than conservative capitalism.

    The enemy's number one ploy with Christians is to try to take away our joy and our hope. But as you and your family know Simeon, we have an eternal promise from God - "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11. We shall all pray without ceasing for you, your family and your neighbors. Remember... " You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you." Chronicles 20:17a. Praise the Lord for his victory is sure! God bless you all.

    Praying for your family and homesteading in general. SO important to keep doing what you love and feel called to. Praying the company sees how precious and dear homesteading can be. We serve a mighty God. Hearts can be changed.

    Hi Simeon, that's bad news, very sorry to hear it. Obviously when the time comes and you need practical help I'll will if I can. Until then I'll help in what is really the best way.
