Who wants more “Hau To” Tutorials? What do you want you learn next?? Also if you make a hyperlapse on IG tag me so I can see it :)
Awesome I think I will use this in my next wedding thanks and what ever tutorials you do they always great thanks
make a tutorial about how you set your camera and how you color grade your footages
I wanna know how you do that swaying motion when filming. Are you just leaning side to side, or is there more to it?
hey chris, thanks for the tutorial! im wondering if a hyperlapse would work with a prime lens? I've got a cheap 25mm manual prime on my A6000 currently
Maybe transitions and color grading
You should’ve said “And that’s HAU you DO IT!” Haha great tutorial btw!
Johnny Luu lmao that was a good one. But hey man it’s crazy seeing you here! 😂
😂🤣🤣😂😂😂
MY LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. this was seriously brilliant and I am going to go make 1000 hyperlapses NOW.
we'll wait that on eater, and on your channel 😍
Iz Lit
I'm planning to make a bunch of them for my next b rolls! 💯
I love how simple and to the point this tutorial was!
I love HAU simple and to the point this tutorial was!
Lumix cameras have a Stop Motion feature where you can see a ghosted preview of the previous photo when framing your next photo that makes this process more flexible and precise for alignment.
great to know! i have a lumix g95
OMG, I love seeing you guys in my back garden... that is literally my grandparents church, and then you go an drone my wedding photo locations... I feel like you guys are slowly making your way to being my neighbours. Love this Chris, hope you both are well and can't wait to hopefully see you both at POV 2020 for more stunning back garden footage.... I would love to show you the sacred heart in Omagh, if you liked Hillsborough you will love this one
use "frame blending" option in time remapping panel to have a motion blur effect in hyperlapse.
Great suggestion!
That’s only if your shoot at a lower frame rate than the actual FPS of your timeline.
Or add a 'transform' effect to it and change the shutter angle to like 180 or higher. Or even more so, you can go into AE and add 'Force Motion Blur' and fiddle with that stuff. Make sure to use Dynamic Link for an easy workflow!
Thanks for the Tutorial dude, It was nice and simple to follow.
Keep it up!
New Follower here!! ;)
Yeah, i use this technique on my new youtube video the new normal.
@@JADNCK what do you mean? Like you’d need to shoot 30p if you were dropping into a 24p timeline?
You made this so easy for me to understand. Sometimes bigger RUclipsr’s act like I know what they are talking about. Thank you!
Man, that was a perfect tutorial! No superficial anything, zero body fat, nothing but net. Brilliant job. Thanks for the tips!
This is by far the best and simplest explained version of how to do this! Thank you :)
Straight to the point, no bs, no sub to this and check out that, no ads, no sponsors, no interruptions. Exactly what a tutorial should be like. Quick and simple and easy to follow👍
DON'T turn your autofocus off, if you move closer or further from the subject you'll no longer have it in focus.
That's why you manually focus if you have autofocus on it only takes something quick or unoticable to enter the scene
@@stevenwood433 it’d be easier to shoot wide and keep an aperture above 8, ideally 11 so everything stays in focus
@@Clownconspirator depends on the lighting sitution if you have aperture up so high on a overcast day you are gonna have to a slower shutter speed. But then again you can use ND filters which is excellent for this
Its ok to turn it off, you most likely are shooting hyperlapse with very wide angle lens and small aperture, so the focus is not an issue unless you walk very close to the subject.
So to the point, I clicked this thinking I'd never be able to do it but now I'm like what was I thinking this is awesome 😍
This is exactly how I have been making hyperlapses the past year. Really nicely explained Hau!
I see notification I click, simple as that,
Always eager to see things that can help me improve my content, Thanks Chris ! :D
Sebastian Dylag hope you learned a little something today :)
WTF!!! I thought you ALWAYS needed a tripod to do this and that hyperlapses were always a HUGE pain in the ass!! Ii wish I would have known this when I went to Poland. This video is Kurt and Chelsey approved ;)
Kurtis & Chelsey Bahahah! There you go!
Thanks for the trick on how to make hyperlapse in handheld! 🙏🥰
This is the Hau we miss!
Awesome man some great tips in here for sure. Now I gotta get out and practice some hyper lapse walks 🤓!
Thanks man!
It's always a little embarrassing doing it and having people stare at you.
@@thechrishau Embarrassing is good, then you know you're doing something right or something horribly wrong!
You are one of the best things that’s ever happened to me on RUclips, Bro. Thank you so much
Nicely done and will explain!
Trying this today. Love the simplicity of this video. So many go overboard with tutoritals
thanks for this video, is good for the new youtuber like me
quality of the video is on another level man thankyou so helpful
I didn't recognise the church, but Enniskillen Castle I definitely do (from the drone footage). Passed it everyday for many years. A thought for you Chris....there's got to be a connection between Enniskillen, Fermanagh and Inniskillin wine in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Sweet! I just have one question: why would you turn off autofocus? When you move closer, wouldn't you have to readjust the focus?
Pheoflora thats what I was thinking.....
I think because he want to point the focus on the center of building as he said in the earlier
@@edimilala3740 but if the focus is frozen at a distance, lets say he is 500m away...everything in a closer distance would be just blurry.
I guess he is adjusting the focus everytime he takes a new photograph and then switches to manuel mode, so whatever happens, you have your focus on the point of interest you want to
I agree, I have tried this before and I use the small focus box on the A7III, and focus on the same bit of the building, and it works. Great tutorial from Chris nonetheless
He could have also closed the aperture a bit to make everything come into focus. It was bright outside so it’s possible.
Never thought to put images together for a hyper lapse! More Hau to's please
Its nice to watch how hau did it..
Chris your hair just keeps getting better and better.
So simple!
Great tutorial here Chris. So much to learn from you. Thanks for sharing your video my friend.
Awesome!
Thanks for the tutorial, but don't you have to change your focus once you get closer to the church?
Santiago de Miguel I was thinking exactly same thing 🤔
No , camera locks the focus
@@mayanksharma7952 wrong
brill vid - love the fact you've hyperlapsed the hyperlapse tutorial - that could be another video haha
Thanks for sharing your idea my friend i learn with your topic i will apply this...godbless
Chris, thumbs up for not using gimbal as lots of people do.
Thumbs down for the fast shutter speed. Usually the "most cinematic" way is to have smaller aperture (at least f.8) so everything is in focus and sharp and the shutter speed as low as possible for the correct exposure. For handheld shooting is possible to go around 1/50s, with monopod or tripod you can go even slower and that's what you can call the "true cinematic hyperlapse"
Fast and easy, no BS, Such a great tutorial !
Been waiting for something like this! This was so incredibly helpful thanks Chris!!!
Dude!! That looks smoother than any other automatic solution! Thanks for this, loves the diag. + square idea
:)
Super fantastic!
This was such an amazing video! Thanks Chris, learnt a new skill today.
Hi Chris, you can consider for a next video: Backup systems for video & Photo editing. Each time we need more and more space so, maybe you can explain what do you use for backup workflow (hard drive , SSD ? NAS? cloud? etc) and why you use that. Wich one it’s better?
Oh wow! I was thinking just as the video started "Oh that looks a hell of a lot like Hillsborough Church, isn't that funny" And then you said you were in Northern Ireland, so it IS Hillsborough. No way! Can't believe you made it all the way out here haha small world!
Thanks for this video Chris. This was helpful, although I had an issue with the warp stabilisation part where it said "stabilisation failed". I had to add the images separately, change the duration and then nest the image in order for the stabilisation to work. It would have been nice to maybe put that in the video.
HAU awesome!
Enniskillen! My hometown! that drone footage looks awesome
Honestly great one!
Respect From Egypt 🔥🔥
Wow tutorial was insane!
Okay this is cool! Never thought I could take hyper lapses by simply walking. Was waiting to see how he would measure out distance to move his monopod/tripod and calculate the number of frames. Hehe. This is fun. Gonna try this
Very nice tutorial. Short and extremely explicit! Very well done!👍
This pun of Hau To Tutorial is going to be dope for sure Chris hahaha. I'm going to get used to this kind of Hau To 😎
Saw sony camera- instant subbed 🙌
Saw content super subbed! Thank you
fiiiiiine i guess ill try this out in universal studios next month....
Thanks Chris. Just used your tutorial for lightroom. Worked perfectly.
i learnt alot,thanks brother
Awesome, can’t wait to try this myself in London and post it!!
This was awesome! Wish the finished hyperlapse was there to see the final product! Left me wanting more, great job! Gonna try this out! :D
Grande video!! Era quello che stavo cercando. Bravissimo!!!
Short and simple. I love it
Fantastic Chris. Thank you so much

that hau you make a perfect hyperlapse !!!!! awesome
Man, I always thought this was SUPER hard to do, but it was so well explained!! Thank you, can't wait to try it out! ;) And yes, more "Hau To" Tutorials, please! :D
Is this better than using the built-in hyperlapse feature in some cameras?
Fantastic video mate!
Great tutorial I am giving it a shot now. We'll see how it comes out!
The play on words was amazing " A Hau to tutorial"
Superb Chris...very well explained. Thumbs up
Love your presentation and you seem like a chill dude, keep it up!
Perfect timing! I'm gonna try this while I'm in Yosemite this week
OHH hell yah! You'll make the most amazing hyper lapses there
Holy cow! I’ve been trying to work on my b roll and cinematic sequence skills, adding another trick to learn. Thanks Chris!
WOO! Have fun!
Great tips! Really Helped!
Great tutorial, thanks for the video.
love your color grading!
beautiful cinematic hyperlapse i liked it. thanks for sharing buddy..watching from SG
Chris Hau, amazing tutorial - easy to grasp, and easy to do it now by myself. Thanks a lot.
Nice work, man! Love the grid idea to keep it locked onto a point. Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much for this Chris!
Thanks Chris! This is something I wanted to know, but had not yet figured out how to do this.
Nice video! Can't wait to try this myself. Quick question: why do you turn off focus? Since you're F4, won't things get out of focus as you get closer to the building? Is there a downside to autofocusing each shot?
I had the same question... it's probably better to just focus each time on the center of the subject
I loved this video.
Love the Hau To vids
the colors are perfect good job a lot of peopol in youtube can't get this done
I have a question, why switch it to manual focus? Why cant you just use auto focus on every shot?
Btw awesome tutorial! :)
I just don't like having the focusing breathing when making a hyperlapse
Dope video chris! Nice quick and to the point tutorial!
Subscribed!! This is my first video i watch in your channel. 👍
Amazing tutorial! Thank you so much for this useful information, straight to the point and with clear examples :)
Hyper-moving-timelapse? Smooth man, awesome work
