Nintendo Beyond, you could make a gyroid and add two servos where the arms are to make them move back and forth and use a speaker to make the selected gyroid noise.
If you're still doing ASMRs, you could totally just make a gyroid on camera. lol Some people like to watch things like that. I think that it's more of a visual ASMR if that makes any sense.
Gyroids are based off of traditional Japanese Hinawas. A Hinawa is a terracotta clay figure made for rituals and to be buried with the dead. They say the spirit of the dead is contained inside. So yeah, they really will be watching! :D
Wow Joshy, I would've never thought of you as such a crafty guy :) great video! i'll definitely be trying this! Also, a cool idea might be to make an asmr video where you're modeling/painting a gyroid while whispering :)
Homg, that's a great idea, I had a load of clay a while back that I turned into a Blanca figurine, but gyroids make so much more sense. And I paused the video at 19 seconds to scream (and scare my flatmate) over your Kapp'n cruises shirt. NEED ONE. D=
you can use dry pastel that you make into a powder and then gently putting that on whit a fluffy small paint brush to make it look dirty to :3 and then covering it in fixative to keep it in place its a really great way to get a shadow affect on things or make it look more dirty and such :3
You did such an awesome job on these and walking us through steps! I'll surely grab clay the next time I'm out and about to do this. Tysm for the help. Can you believe you're the only one who thought of putting up a tutorial on this? I'm grateful, and grateful that it's a GREAT tutorial too.
I've got a Gyroid that I made out of clay back when I was playing the first Animal Crossing. But what I'd REALLY like are Gyroids that actually dance to music, like Keepon. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keepon
I must make a gyroid. I must do it! This could be a long week of babysitting, chores, and homework help...but I MUST MAKE ONE! I am inspired...truly inspired... :)
Mine turned out pretty good, but not great. I found the air-drying clay that you suggested hard to work with, as little cracks kept forming in it and it was hard to kneed. Thanks for these basic instructions though. I'll be making more with some Sculpey oven-baking clay in the future. :)
I think you're forgetting what a gyroid actually is... this is actually kinda creepy. Gyroids are based of traditional Japanese Haniwas, a Haniwa is a terracotta clay figure made for rituals and to be buried with the dead. Yeah so next time you okay the game and it's been raining, just remember, you're grave digging. And they say the spirits of the dead are contained inside of them. I hope you all enjoy making these and putting them in your room!
but can they dance... thats the real question.
I haven't perfected that just yet. ;)
It could dance with a gyroid shaped robot and then you use clay over it.
Nintendo Beyond, you could make a gyroid and add two servos where the arms are to make them move back and forth and use a speaker to make the selected gyroid noise.
Nintendo Beyond, hey what kind of clay did you use and where can I buy some? I'm planing on making a basic gyroid
@@vasutanuja Or use silicone so that it can dance.
how have I not seen this until now?!?! :/
IKR
I like these arts and crafts videos, keep them up!
I'm going to make mine I'm going to make mine
so satisfying....the art, the clay....the passion.
Tbh when I find gyroids I usually just sell them but your sculptures make them seem kind of cool!
Way to go Mayor Joshy! You are so talented.
You can make a living out of this tbh
you just need to know magic first
who else agrees that howloids are adorable?
they ARE!
my favorites are spectroides >_
I prefer lullaboids (if that's what they're called) but they aren't really adorable when you realise what gryoids actually are...
I'd rather prefer drilloids. I only have a mini.
If you're still doing ASMRs, you could totally just make a gyroid on camera. lol Some people like to watch things like that. I think that it's more of a visual ASMR if that makes any sense.
This was really informative. I'll definitely try this soon. Would you consider making other crafting videos related to video game stuff like this?
So fun! I just made a Tall Oboid because of this video! First time I've worked with clay since I was around 11.
They'll watch you at night.. They're watching.. you.. always.. watching..

The music in this video was the BEST!! I'm really wanting to play the gamecube version now.....
In the URL, at the end there is a person with a monocle-- o_g
Never in a million years did I think you would make something like this. I LOVE IT!!!! 😃
Well... dammit. I'm gonna have a tough time finding these supplies since I live in the UK.
This gives you so many cool points and you were already through the roof with them. Now... to town!
Definitely going to have to do this eventually. It just looks like so much fun.
You should do more crafts! :D
why cant i have real life friends like you. great gyroids :)
im sure Brewster would love them as much as most animal crossing fans would :)
I want to make one that looks just as cool on my shelf, as it will outside on Halloween.
Wow Joshy, I would've never thought of you as such a crafty guy :) great video! i'll definitely be trying this!

Doing this over the weekend, thanks Josh!
You got art skills! XD I see those vectoring and halloween QR designs you do.

I think I may do this, as soon as I get the materials. This looks like a fun challenge.
I love Animal Crossing, but to me, they aren't very addictive to collect. xD
Looks like a new hobby to do this year
Really cool Josh! Keep up the hard work and you'll have a fantastic collection of gyroids.
This should be a series for your channel. Crafts from games!
I LOVE THIS IDEA!!! Now I just need to find some time to actually make some gyroids....
You can save clay by bunching a lot of aluminum foil to use as the center and modeling around it. :) It'll also weigh less that way.
i'm going to make Lloid!
We need more crafts, they look so GREAT! :D
Made two finally thanks, one tall Nebuloid and The Regular Construction Loyd.
This is amazing :D and so as the outro song (can't stop mentioning that)
Josh is so adorable

And now you can have your own clay funeral figure
Joshy you have so many good ideas and your vids are great!
if you have the supplies, you can use polymer clay and make the gyroids in smaller sizes.
Anyone else think Mayor Joshy is adorable in a "Kids Show Host" kind of way?
You forgot to mention: Happy spring!
am I the only one that actually was watching and making gyroids at the same time XD
You should make animal crossing characters!
Oh my god I am so going to make one! You are super creative and good at this! And super cute in general.
This looks so cool! I might want to try this.
These turned out amazing! Great job man!! :D
You should go to Akia village. It is soooooooooo creepy.
Zayda Alim sadly you can't anymore.....

My god, freakin' amazing Josh.

Really nice work, Josh, I love these!
These are awesome! I'm totally making these for my gaming room.

WOAHHHH! Too cool! Amazing job! Other complements! In other words, ya did good.
They're adorable!
I might even try making one!
:o !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, holy cow, those gyroids are looking good there josh!!!!!
Thanks for this totally awesome and creative idea, Josh! You should do more DIY videos because this one was really great!
This is cool! An incense burner would be nice too, or like a candle holder!
:3 Thanks Joshy!
That's really cool, but then it's weird once you find out that real life "gyroids" are put in graves as gifts to the dead... Awesome! :D
OMG so amazing never expected you to be so crafty, new found respect for Mayor Josh :3 great job they look fantastic
I was so happy this didnt require polymore clay
I must make a gyroid. I must do it! This could be a long week of babysitting, chores, and homework help...but I MUST MAKE ONE!
I am inspired...truly inspired... :)

I wanna try to make brewstoids :3
Wow your really good at art, I admire u mayor joshy. 💜🐰💜
Omg this is amazing! I need to make some ASAP! Definitely agree that they are one of the best things to collect in the game :)
It'd be neat if you made more tutorials like this. :O
This was really fun to watch. ^^
Would you ever make a Brewster gyroid?
I appreciate the red pikmin
I'd rather not have something that replicates something that was once buried with the dead, given how in doubutsu no mori they are haniwa...
Yes, that is what they're based on, but Haniwa aren't decorated, and the Gyroids don't serve the same purpose, or at least the ones that he's made.
Yeah they are Haniwa, remember that when your gravedigging in the game :)
I'm missing gyroids so mutch in new horyzons that im making them myself now.
Nice Flame Red 3DS man!
I has one too :3
Wow, awesome project!
This is genius! I'm so going to be making some!
I'm going to make some soon, there so cute
I always thought he would be cute. (this is my first time seeing him)
Simple enough and impressive.
I bet you could make a Shy Guy just like this. :3
Nice shirt, I've got the same one!
