    I had a lot of fun fishing walleye in 6ft of water this spring/summer slow rolling swim baits off bottom up here in Northern Manitoba. I agree it’s a lot more fun then a jig and minnow. Getting them to chase and smack lures like that is way better then getting them to pick a jig off bottom 👎🏻. If I’m gonna bounce on bottom like that I’m going for big burbot

    Awesome video. I've been waiting for you to post another one.. maybe kenora bass tournament?? Keep them coming. The reason I rate you as my top youtube fishing channel is that you keep it real/honest and are more of a fishing expert than the crazy youtubers that just talk big. I grew up fishing in Northern Ontario and have moved away, but moving back this winter and looking forward to getting back fishing more Canadian shield lakes.

    Another outstanding video! How long do they typically hang shallow for?

  • @johnnybuckbrush
    @johnnybuckbrush 2 года назад

    Can't wait to get back up to LOT it's so close I can almost taste the grease! I've always wanted to try shallow casting but normally just end up pulling spinners in our usual spots (because it almost always works which makes it hard to get away from).
    Any suggestions of what to look for when trolling and casting shallow? It looks like you are fishing shallow pinch points and just off of sandy beaches. Is it similar to largemouth bass fishing? Do you look for anything else nearby like certain depths that the walleyes come up from to feed, changes in types of bottom, nearby current or humps? Any extra tips would be appreciated.

    Haha great video Bruce, ps I hit that like button!!!
    Here's a question, when you are doing these techniques of cast and retrieving plastic along the bottom, how often are you get snagged and breaking off. On average of 10 casts how many result in a lost rig or just snags you get out in general? Wierd question I know but I'm just curious lol

    • @jamiebrucefishing
      @jamiebrucefishing 3 года назад

      Snagged very rarely, it’s usually a soft bottom technique . If there is lots of wood around it can get snaggy

    I honked on the button lol Most fishermen are goons.... If you haven't learned this yet now you learned something new. Anywhere from throwing cigarette butts in the water, leaving line in the all over the place to blowing weeds up around the lakes.... Can't fix stupid, unless its a lure. Sometimes Lures can be fixed.

    NO RESPECT FOR LIFE...if you go fishing you take what you catch up to your limit...you just catch and hurt fish for fun... I just take my limit..when I catch them in 15 min then fishing is over ... when it takes longer it takes longer.. I do not understand people like you who rip the hooks out of fish and throw them back because you feel they are not big enough ..and if you do it for the video it is even worse
