  • So, we've finally reached that point. It's finally time for the... er, "grand" finale, of this retrospective? I don't know, I guess it's applicable to call it a "grand" finale. At any rate, when Super Mario 3D World was announced for Switch, it was announced that an expansion pack of sorts, named Bowser's Fury, would be included to make the game more worth a purchase. It looked interesting, but I'll admit, I've never played it before. I figured I'd might as well wait until now so that I could do a video on it fresh. With that said, what did I think of the expansion, as someone who knows these games front to back and back to front all over again?
...Well, that's what the video is here for, right? That's why you came here? Because I'm not gonna spoil it here. Watch to find out.
Anyway, that does it for the Mainline Mario Marathon. To anyone who's watched it, whether you've been here since very early on or this is you first time seeing one of these videos, thank you for watching, and there's more where this came from. I've got big plans ahead, so if you're at all interested, I'd say stick around.
also merry winter holiday where they give gifts and stuff i dont remember what its called anyway bye thank for watch see you next one

Nice video! I like how detailed you talk about stuff like the physics and controls.
I find your point on the run button in 3D (Mario) games interesting. I personally don't really feel that comfortable holding an analog stick back if I want to just walk, so a run button gets rid of that. It's kinda annoying that you need to keep that button pressed the whole time tho, since I'm running 90% of the time. On the other hand, I didn't mind the walking/running mapped to the analog stick in Odyssey since I ended up running all the time and rarely if ever felt the need to walk instead of run. Maybe a game with only running wouldn't be that bad, tho it would kinda kill the sense of freedom in controlling Mario I guess?
But if you do want more control on running vs. walking, maybe the run button should instead be a walk button? Or perhaps we don't need walking at all, since there's "crouched walking" as some kind of alternative.
In 3D World on Wii U and Super Mario 64 DS you can control Mario with a D-Pad. The latter kinda suffers from it and it has a run button as well. In the beginning of the video you showed a little gallery of games you've played, including 64DS, but I couldn't find a video about that game on your channel. Would you consider making one? I'm very curious to your opinion and view on it, including its controls/physics and if you would have any ideas to improve on them with the DS's limitations in mind. I'd personally say that in terms of physics it's at least better than 3D Land xD.
I'm rambling a lot here, so thanks for reading. Again, nice video! Keep up the good work! :)
