The doctor who lived the shortest and gave the most to others. Born in love, and died alone and afraid. He deserved to live, be happy, and settle down on his own terms. The tenth is the saddest doctor. The others doctors had the freedom to push away their mistakes and love on, Tenth was always weighted by his past.
Stunningly well done. I feel like a large number of the people who criticise Tenth for being "too human" or "too emotional" or his departure "overly bombastic" have failed to grasp his character. From the get-go, he was set up to crumble emotionally. He arrived happy and smiling and had a familiar face, Rose, at his side with whom he became more attached. Then he lost her. And then the downward spiral began, not noticeable at first, mind you. While still mourning, he momentarily met Donna and then Martha, whom he eventually grew to value her as a good friend. But then she left as well. Then in Voyage of the Damned we see the first hints of his God Complex, as well as the loss of someone else who he had just met but valued. But then as if she was sent as the ultimate cure for all his problems, Donna Noble came back into his life and not only became a good friend to him but also kept his darker side in check, which at this point we have only seen glimpses off. Unfortunately by the end of her time, he not only had to say goodbye to Rose again once more, but also had to "kill" Donna to save her, which left him all alone again. Now in his final days, with the pain of the Time War ever so prevalent, the pain of losing those he loved and with the additional revelation of his impending death, Ten finally snapped in the Waters of Mars and declared himself the Time Lord Victorious. By the end of the episode however, he realised his mistake and dialled it back a bit, seemingly coming back to his senses in the End of Time. Yet, despite this, we still saw hints of his darker temptations leaking through at the end. The temptation to leave Wilfred for dead and achieve so much more. And this was essentially the point where he realised that despite not wanting to regenerate, it was perhaps best to because if he continued as he was, he would go down a really dark path. Despite knowing that his "death" was something that needed to happen, he still feared it which culminated in the fearful "I don't want to go" seconds before he died in a blaze of glory.
MajesticGoatee exactly the reason he’s my doctor. I used to just love his episodes, but now I appreciate the character work that went into him so carefully and passionately. Beautiful explanation mate
It seems, in my opinion, that the 12th Doctor was emotional as well. I think it's a good "look" for the Doctor. He's been around for a long time, it's only natural that he would develop a more human set of emotions and attachments.
You captured in less than five minutes the pattern and process of exactly how every piece of himself he built out of Nine was slowly crumpled and broken apart and it was so painfully wonderful to watch. And how all he wanted for himself was the justice he was always demanding for others, and that's when he knew he had to leave, because no one in his position should feel entitled to that, it's too dangerous. It just reminded me of why I'll always love him this much, thank you.
He arrived like a blank slate. Innocent with a childlike wonder, he ripped through the hate, remorse & rage of his 9th self like a knife. Born with a huge smile everything was FUN and he was in love with both life & Rose (even if he never got to say it) even went a bit domestic going to Xmas dinner. But then the loses started with each one chipping away pieces of his soul until he became so broken that he felt like a God over time itself. But in the end, it wasn't a planet or a race of people that he saved. It was simply one old man that he loved. By saving Wilf he saved himself. He did it knowing he would die but if he left Wilf to die he would have gone mad & might have ended up hurting people instead of helping. It reset his moral compass. But that is what his life really was about: sacrifice. And his 'reward' was just to see the people he loved one more time. He 'didn't want to go' but it wasn't out of fear death anymore. It was a fear that his next self would never see them again. And he was right.
You can really see the difference from when Ten first arrived to the last season. His heart shattered more & more over time, first with Rose, then the Master, then Martha, Donna... It's a never ending cycle, but Ten wanted to be the center of it. He was the only one afraid of death. The only one that noticed that everything he was would vanish as he died. He could turn evil, ugly, handsome or cruel. But no doctors, ever, would size up to the Tenth. He loves life, that is a metaphor for humanity itself.
@Lord Revan but was it enough to make him snap? That episode is nothing compared to Waters of Mars. When he snapped and caused Adelaide to commit suicide all to restore the timeline he destroyed. 4 and a half billion years in a dial is nothing compared to turning your back on everything you've ever believed in, and then realising that you have become the very thing you've been fighting against all your lives, because you have lost so much, *too much*
@Lord Revan Even though it was billions of years, it wasn't from his perspective. He doesn't remember the lives of his former selves. From the Doctor's perspective is was probably only a few days. I'm not saying he didn't suffer but I don't think even the doctor would be strong enough to keep going for that long if he remembered everything. The original doctor is gone now, he is just one of many clones of the original.

there will never be a doctor like 10. the actor's emotional transfer onto the viewer is amazing. his stories where great for his character. it was a prime. the 11th was great as an ark, but that ark was more like filler twards the end. and then 12th. gave a depth of story and true nature to the character. 13th shows a lack of emotional transfer that the last 4 had. but still has stories that rival the others. deeper sentimental feelings to each of them. lessons to be learned after each plot. But. there will be nothing like the 10th. he was the brightest. he is the Bold, 11ths experience, to the 12th's wisdom.
When I thought that another tribute video to Ten couldn't be any more amazing than what I've already seen before, *here comes garostudios.* This felt like such a unique take on Ten and I LOVE how you involved future dialogue from newer episodes to strengthen this video.
The tenth doctor is one of the most Tragic incarnations… he started off a cheeky, optimistic and loving incarnation but after Rose was lost, he slowly went into a deeper depression over time until he snapped in waters of mars, from losing rose, to wiping the memories of Donna, the one who showed and took his emotional attachment of rose and let him be happy with out them, but after Donna left, his flame dies… and when he regenerates, is even more sader, the flame that quickly dies but is twice as bright, and I love 10
I've reached a point where I don't even have to watch the video anymore, or even look at the title. I just instantly like and favorite before I sit down to see what you've done now. And it's always brilliant.
The most sad thing about Tenth, he tried to change. He did.. but he even tried to get his reward.. he still suffering. People said that Tenth is too emotional. But after he become more human in Season 3, he grow to become more sad. His adventure were fun.. but also in the end he lose anyone. Tenth.. yes.. tenth. Even Eleventh met Sarah Jane, he's different incarnation. Even he tried to be kind, Water of Mars really become more.. hurt for him. Yes he tried for fun with Queen Elizabeth, but in The End of Time, when he become selfish about Wilfred when he said he wanted so much more. He lose Donna while Donna want happy with him just adventure together.. Hurting Rose, Martha. Or even a woman in the past when he become John Smith and he couldn't kept his promise with Madame De Pompadour. Imagine that he's sad in his regeneration. Not because the next incarnation of him would be the last (before new regeneration cycle), but his guilt and regret to so many people he knew. The Man Who Regret. Tenth Doctor.
Though 12 and 11 are immensely dear to me, 10 will always have a place in my heart. His charm, his energy, his deep love for his companions, and his righteous fury at those who crossed him. These qualities and more drew me to this particular Doctor. I love how during this emotional tribute, you placed in lines from past and future Doctors to highlight 10's end and his relationship with the Master. 2:08-2:12 gave me chills in a good way.

"Everything ends. That is always sad. But everything begins again too and that's always happy." This quote was meant for Tennant's change into Smith. Both were great. It was the most crushing thing to see Tennant leave, but also one of the most joyous things watching Smith take the role and own it.
Yes, I am so glad to watch a Ten video from you again. I'll hope it'll stay here forever too. I loved the music, especially at the end, the fact that you put The Master there and the ending was the best part. When the 'everything ends, but everything begins again' quotes appeared it took me back to how I had to take a break from DW after Ten regenerated, cause he was and still is my fave, but then I watched it again, and even if I couldn't love 11 as much (he is cool though) I loved 12 so much, and not it's hard to watch DW again, but I will, of course. This might be because I’ve had a few lagers, but this brought a tear to my eye! David Tennant was most certainly the most emotional Doctor, and he was definitely the best Doctor... he deserved the long and heartfelt goodbye that he received, always will be my fave

Was hoping for another one of your brilliant videos about the tenth Doctor. Great work as usual.
This has got to be the most powerful video on RUclips. So beautifully well done xx
god, what a wonderful video for my favorite character. You truly make the best tribute videos on RUclips! Thank you so much ♥
amazing as ALWAYS😭❤️, so touching and beautiful and.. omg love it so much😭💕
This might be because I’ve had a few lagers, but this brought a tear to my eye! David Tennant was most certainly the most emotional Doctor, and he was definitely the best Doctor... he deserved the long and heartfelt goodbye that he received, always will be my fave
This is one of the single most tributing pieces, you have made. Thank you for emptying my tear ducts ;)
Every time I see a new video I always get excited. This is no exception, another true masterpiece.
Literally watched your 12th doctor tribute yesterday wondering whether you would do a 10th and you drop a video today! Amazing 👏🏻
Excellent work. Peter Capaldi is my Doctor now, but before him it was Tennant. Excellent work on capturing what made him so brilliant.
no, im... I'm not...not...not cryi.. *crying so hard*
Posted on my birthday, what a gift you've given me :D
A touching, very moving tribute to Ten, my Doctor! Thank you so much for this!
Back when Doctor Who was great. How I've missed it. Thanks for this tribute.

A brilliant tribute to a brilliant doctor as ever you've done a fantastic job. Allons-y!
