these guys have undoubty the best cover of this song, its not a one for one copy, its original without making too different and the feeling is still there without going over board like other metal covers of this song
This song is such an awesome mix of genres and is seriously the most interesting thing i've heard in a long time. This band is definitely a new favorite band of mine.
As much as I like this, especially the violin, nothing can replace the original Eva opening. It's the most epic anime opening EVER and it should never be changed.
There are hundreds of artist that tried to cover Zaankoku no tenshi no theses, and most of them were always kindda boring> but i have to say, this is a WONDERFUL version of the song... really love the guitar and violin part of the song!
oh... the voice... is... beautiful.... wow!does not recognize the song is ... sounds amazing .. I like much more ... with the touch of violin ... is as beautiful as it sounds ... I LUV '
@blingadingading @vigalure I kind of agree with bling on this one. I consider Visual Kei to be a kind of unique cultural approach to various existing music genres. The visual aesthetics of the band are used to accentuate the message that's being conveyed by the music so the band's performance is both musical and visual. Sometimes this involves the music being consistent with the image (e.g. X's 'psychedelic' phase in image and music; Versailles' aristocratic image with neoclassical music).
@vigalure I'm glad what I said makes some sense! I'm pretty confident A would sound VERY different if they weren't a VK band. In my experience (via interviews with VK artists compared to interviews with non-VK others), it is much more prevalent for VK bands to decide on a definite idea/concept/message they want to convey before considering the music. I think it's less likely that A would have come up with the music they now have had they not started the process within the VK mind-set.
I think so~ he sings a lot xD basically ACE has two vocals more or less. Because Rookie sings most (or all) of the backings and the higher passages (the ones that sound kinda opera like) and plays the violin, the piano, flute and I don't know what else XD Hearing them live is just epic in my opinion *o*
@blingadingading @vigalure This, I believe, is reflected in their music; as they take musical styles from various cultures and create a rock fusion with them. Indeed, they are extremely talented at doing so! In a way, I agree with vigalure insofar as there was something more definite about the musical style of early Visual Kei. But I think it has evolved into something far more widely encapsulating (as I suggested above). I think it's more than a musical genre, it's a way of approaching music!
@blingadingading @vigalure Other times the music and image may be more inconsistent for effect (but I think this is rare). I find A(エース) a very interesting case of Visual Kei. For besides the fact that their music is great to listen to, their visual-kei-ness seems to me like a metaphor for the whole visual-kei movement. To put it bluntly, they're dressed up as pirates; explorers of various nations and cultures who plunder what these nations create and use it for their own desires.
@blingadingading neo visual kei is very varied, but even being ''neo'' they have the classic vk touch. I listen to a lot of old school bands, and i never heard another kind of band do songs like they did, sooooo i concider visual kei an musical genre. In this song, the part where the drums are fast, this is very vk for me.
Zarz02 Actually, it is originally from Neon Genesis Evangelion, I found out a long time ago. And it is possibly one of the best anime I have ever seen. You should check it out, seriously. It's good.
@PersistentResistance lol the whole reason i clicked was to see if it was a remake of the theme..i do like this version almost as much as the original :)
@ImShiawase this band is almost new... Every indie Band record his PV like this, looking "cheap". It was a live, but in the PV is just the video with the song over it :)
these guys have undoubty the best cover of this song, its not a one for one copy, its original without making too different and the feeling is still there without going over board like other metal covers of this song
the Violinist was awesome! I've never seen such intense violin head banging ever!
English name's written as "A". Pronounced as "Ace". Means "Anonymous Confederate Ensemble". Have a good time being confused.
Nice violin... and wow, it's gotta be sort of hard to play while headbanging.
A Salsa version.
JAJAJAJA QUE BUENA ......estas jaajaaajaj
Estaba recordando el pasado y me topé con tu comentario, me hiciste la década HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

As much as I like this, especially the violin, nothing can replace the original Eva opening. It's the most epic anime opening EVER and it should never be changed.

I think Neon Genesis Evangelion needs to be re-made to an updated level of badass-ness. When it is - this needs to be the new opening theme.
