Wow, solo hiking from Lands End to John o' Groats! That's quite an adventure. Watching your Week 1 video has me feeling inspired and eager to follow your journey. The landscapes you've encountered so far are breathtaking, and your storytelling skills make it feel like I'm right there with you. Can't wait to see what the rest of your trip has in store. Keep pushing forward and stay safe on your amazing solo expedition!
Oh thank you! Nothing compared to your epic drone captures - but it's my journey and I'm sure happy to share it in this way! Thanks for watching and for your amazingly kind words!
You are so courageous.. I have a question.. how do you know which route you are taking and not take the wrong direction? I guess you can not computer the GPS of a phone
What a sweet thing to say, thank you! I planned my route with maps from the Long Distance Walkers Association (lots of maps available online and as downloads for a small annual membership fee - brilliant tool!). I loaded my route into my gps tracker and navigated with it, too. That gave me the option of following my pre-planned route or plan a new route on the day with the maps I had on there. Because my tracker has a corresponding app, I had all of this available on my phone as well. Many things to consider about your tools of navigation and your back-ups for it (e.g. paper vs electronic etc) but that's a conversation for another day! :D
Such a nice start of a fantastic adventure Jennifer! Great video and wonderful hiking vibes!
Ah, thanks Mario! It was such an exciting day! Loved reliving it through the video!!!
