Grave Robber: It's fine, it doesn't bother me, it doesn't bother me... Bone Courtier: **Tempting Goblet** Grave Robber: NEVERMIND IT BOTHERS ME A LOT! **Pick to the Face**
So we all know how the Leper is facing the right like the true King he is, but it appears to me that Audrey is also (indirectly) looking to the right through the reflection in her dagger. Maybe it's because she's not ashamed of her past, but is jus feigning that she is.
Looks like quite different of earlier access build that shown in other videos. For example in Chapter 1,The earlier access build's grave robber stand animation is shown crossing arms. In the newest update, she puts her hands up and shook her head which shown cowedly instead.
So here's a question... was the GR's husband physically/sexually abusive to her? Was her "murder" justified? Based on the wording, I don't think so and that's why her history is viewed in such a bad light. If she killed her deserving husband, that doesn't quite create the same tone as it would be more justified.
considering the husband was pleading for forgiveness it is implied that he abused her in one way or another that even him in a drunken state is aware of how shitty he was to her. I would not be surprised the guy had it comming.
"placating his worst tendencies with a veneer of gracious deference" Even if he was abusive, the grave robber lives during a time when women weren't allowed to divorce their husbands for any reason. Its only very recently that divorce for women was allowed and even more recently that marital rape is acknowledged as valid. Plus, culturally it would be looked down upon, especially if she is in wealthy circles. So if she wanted out for any reason, there wouldn't have been any other way out. The only other option was to endure him for the rest of his life, and let him do to her whatever he wanted. And even if it was justified, the people at the time wouldn't think it was justified. So she is probably living with a lot of shame, even if people nowadays might understand why she did what she did.
(Gets bashed nearly to death with a pickaxe)
Watchman: "Is someone there?"

I like the ambiguity, personally. She's...not exactly a great person, after all. Maybe he was a complete monster, maybe he just had a temper.
"She was the object of her husband's boorish lust and drunken temper"
To me this heavily implies he was abusive

"night after night of disrespect and abuse"
Yeah, this isn't ambiguous at all
