I actually watched this one the other day, and surprisingly liked it a lot more. The only thing I hated was Harry, the fact that Peter was the only one that can get bitten by the spider, and the cop flashback scences.
I actually liked that stuff. I just wish they committed more to make him look like a real Goblin, green and all
@@pickleodessey8452 I agree
Ya mee too, i watched it on movies now channel
Harry was very good with his dynamic with Peter, but the Green Goblin thing was a bit rushed.
@@harryskywalker6814 I feel like those were the only good parts with Harry, when he is by himself, with Gwen, or Max (Electro) it just doesn't work for me and Green Goblin was also rushed. I feel like you could remove him from the story and other then Gwen's death nothing would change.
That shot of Gwen being snapped against the ground was hardcore! You felt the physical pain, and the emotional once Peter realizes she's dead. I'm glad someone admitted how bad Jim Carrey is in Batman Forever! I hated The Riddler character when that movie came out and I was only 13 years old. Harry being an actual goblin, I liked, but like you said the jumbled mess of the plot doesn't help much. I did like the score on the closing credits. I like parts of it, but others are just disjointed. I can't give it a pass.
I actually saw this for the first time just a few days ago and didn't think it was as unbearable as everyone says. The acting is incredible and I liked certain elements of the tone when it was consistent. There were tastes of an incredible movie but they kind of got lost. Really agree with a lot of what you pointed out Sean!
TASM2 remains my favourite Spidey-movie and one of my favourite superheromovies next to Batman Returns. The action was great, the cinematography and visual were awesome. The score was supeb. Garfield is my personal favourite Spdide and the ending was intense.
Good review. Very thorough.
For me:
The Good:
+ The dramatic moments from the characters of the first film, when they appear, are usually just as weighted as before.
+ The film does have themes and Peter does have a journey which is only partially followed.
+ Truly and honestly explores the relationship between Peter and Gwen. The will-they-won't-they could get exhausting but it feels layered and the desire to move on but also stay together comes through so strongly in every interaction.
+ Rhino is rightly hilarious and deserves everything.
+ Slightly blockbuster visuals but Dan Mindel mostly lets the colors pop here.
+ The swinging sequences are a pointed improvement on the original.
+ The action sequences are well-conceptualized and mostly exciting.
+ The music slaps and I like what they did with Electro (Having lyrics being the motivation is kinda distracting but it's an interesting choice)
+ Strong, fun beginning and quite a powerful ending.
The Bad: The best way I can put it is that it's 3 great movies happening at the same time and as a result, none of them are good. Let's go through this plotline by plotline:
- Electro. I do agree with Sean that the 'fanatic becomes villain' trope has basically never worked beyond Syndrome from The Incredibles, and that's because his attempts at heroism as a little kid were much more believable and we see a buildup there. Jamie Foxx plays this character exactly the way it is, as a joke. Had the 'attention-hungry loner' angle been pushed instead of the creepy stalker one and it been played with the tone of the rest of the film, then everything he did would've been much more investing.
- Minor thing, but there is a great scene with Aunt May where she talks about having to pick up nursing classes and compete with younger people just to pay for people. Had they given May's stresses and her attempts to provide for Peter, and maybe have Peter feel bad and try to carve out a future for himself (Maybe at Oscorp), it'd both play into the ideas of the film and give the solid core set up in the original more development.
- Green Goblin. We're thrown straight into a situation with 2 repulsive characters we care nothing for, the 'Osborn Curse' (lol), have 1 great scene with him and Peter skipping rocks, then overdramatic and edgy before becoming the goblin. Playing up the rekindling of Peter and Harry, and the way that Norman became in his final days compared to how he used to be would go a long way into making us actually care for him. Take out the businessmen trying to usurp him, hardly adds stakes. The film also lazily forces conflict between Harry and Spidey with him just saying no to the cure for no real reason.
- That said, the tone is completely out of wack. The Electro stuff is played fairly comically (Literally Dr. Kafka), the Peter personal life stuff dead seriously, and the Goblin stuff super edgy.
- The Sinister 6 setup is also unnecessary but hardly detracts anything from the movie.
- It irritatingly rushes Peter not wanting to be Spidey anymore after Gwen's death to be like 5 minutes before Rhino hits the streets again.
- There is one truly terrible montage set to the weirdest song in this. It's 2014 and that felt like the 2000s.
- The stuff with Peter's parents is outright uninteresting. It should've stopped in the first film because it takes away from the idea that it was Peter's foolishness and curiousity that got him bit, not some bizarre chosen one narrative. The only way I could see it being interesting is if you really tie it back to Harry's search for a goblin cure. Maybe he sees Richard's video (Either separately or more interestingly with Peter) about Norman being bad and out of desperation, he enlists Electro to capture Spidey and then becomes a tragic figure.
It's a frustrating film because it's nearly great but just doesn't work. Remove one of these villains and everything can be tightened.
You’re talking about the “for you” song montage right?
@@rayoconnell261 Yes hehe
@@jblitz1556 I cringe so hard every time I get to that scene
@@rayoconnell261 Right? Such a random choice for what would otherwise be a passable scene.
@@jblitz1556 I think the scene is fine, but I hate the song and the whole calculator -> magic subway tokens -> magic subway -> laptop thing is the dumbest part of a movie ever.
I think the web slinging in this movie is the best we've seen currently (no way home Included) that opening web swing in tasm 2 is one of my favourite scenes because of how much fun spideys having, that trumpet theme I think Hans Zimmer did, and the fact his movements feel real and not too light and cartoony like Tom Holland's web swinging scenes seem to do, I just love that scene
I still really like this movie. I watched it in preparation for No Way Home and I still loved it as I did a year ago and I don’t think the tone or characters are meddled together. It still has a few issues for me and I wish those deleted scenes were re-included but still I really like it
I’ve been rewatching all the Spider-Man movies this week and your reviews have totally become a part of my routine. I’m seeing NWH tomorrow!
I hope you enjoy it. I'm seeing it Sunday
Same
@@lukesmith3765 seeing it Friday
The reason why the original trilogy and TASM1 were memorable, was because of the producer LAURA ZISKIN
It was because of her and her husband (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the movies had depth
She was the only one capable to tell AVI ARAD when to back off
Unfortunately, she died in 2011, during the production of TASM1
Without her, there was no one to stop Arad from destroying the franchise
Spiderman was nothing without her.
Into The Spider-Verse???
MCU Spider-Man Trilogy???
I wouldn't call TASM 1 memorable at all
@@Luke-3281 into the Spider-Verse was brought to you by Phil Lord and Chris Miller
MCU's Spiderman had Arad acting as executive producer, working at minimal capacity
@@tonkotsuproductions9146 Yes it is.
The one thing I don't think got mentioned (and apologies if it did!) - but I think they absolutely NAILED the suit design in this movie. So it's got that going for it at least. Yeah, Tobey's is classic, and Tom's makes sense within the confines of the MCU, but this literally looked like the Spidey I remember from the comics on the big screen ^.^ so commendations to the wardrobe designer!
The Amazing Spider-man 2 is actually really enjoyable for me. The relationships were great and the action is enjoyable. The problem is just that too much was cut and moved around in the film to make things make much sense.
Just watched it. Flaws abound.. but I still like this movie. The action is great, and the leads are awesome together
I've loved this movie ever since I saw it on the cinema in 2014. Ive seen it no lie, around 100 times. My favorite movie of all time. Despite all the hate, critics, no one will make me stop loving this movie. The amazing spiderman 2 best spiderman movie, Andrew Garfield best spiderman. That's it.
My favorite movie too! You are not alone!
In my opinion its the best spiderman movie period
Hope you love the movie as much as so many others I’ve watched have!! Can’t wait to see your reaction to NWH @SeanChandler!
Yeah, this film is overflowed with great ideas that just weren't executed well. But I gotta ask, why did they even bother giving more story to Peter's parents? It was paid off very poorly at the end and nothing about it matters in the end. It added absolutely nothing to the main plot. Cut it out of the story and the plot would have been the same.
Hey Sean, you have to do the Paul Giamatti laugh again "Ha HA HA HA HA" Lol!!!
Just found your channel recently and I love your takes. You are very thorough and I agree with you about 90% of the time lol. I liked this movie but I always thought it was very messy and all over the place. Loved how you were able to put into words and pick apart everything that was wrong along with the good.. Can't wait to see more of your reviews!
I love the amazing spider man 2, it’s really good. (Spoiler): Gwen Stacy’s death in it made me cry so hard. She is such a nice good likeable character so I was really sad when her character died. And Andrew’s acting was so good during her death, made it even more sad. I love Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield together so much, such good chemistry and they’re both talented and good at acting
Honestly everytime I watch this movie I like it more and more. In my personal opinion, I think the first hour or so of the movie is phenomenal. Especially in the first twenty minutes when he's swinging around the city and the way he handles the Russian mob is sooooo good. Especially when it goes into that sequence of him saving all those people on the bus while gwen is giving her speech. The way spiderman is portrayed in this sequence is so good. With all his guips and quirkiness, but also you can feel the burden he has to carry as spiderman. You can feel how much he has to sacrifice in order to put everyone else first and to use his powers for good. I feel like this opening sequence is the best portrayal we've ever had of spiderman. Sure the plot gets more and more convoluted as the movie goes on, but the first hour of the movie is really solid. Especially when he fights electro in time Square. That's another instance where I feel spiderman is portrayed so accurately. Plus, you can't deny that emma stone and andrew garfield have beautiful chemistry on screen, which makes her death so heartbreaking. Andrew garfield's reaction gets me to tear up everytime. All of that aside, this movie has a lot of problems and there are a lot of things I don't agree with, but overall, I don't think this movie deserves all the hate it gets. All in all I would just like to say that In my own opinion, I feel like Andrew's betrayal IS spiderman. Sorry if anyone even read this whole thing. I just had to get this thought off my mind😂
Enjoy seeing Spider-Man NWH Sean!!!
I’ve been waiting for this for ever and I’m seeing spider man no way home in 2 hours
Loving these videos! To prepare for No Way Home; i just watched TASM2 (along with Spider-Man 1, 2, and 3, TASM, and Venom: LTBC. All for the first time!) and i expected it to be a complete mess. I was surprised, as the movie went along, how much i was enjoying it. I kept expecting it to fall apart completely, but it never did. There are some dumb things, but overall i had a fantastic (or should i say Amazing?!😀) time watching it! And i really love what they were willing to do with the finale death. It's so shocking (although i did know it was coming)and heartbreaking. Huge respect for that choice. The action, comedy, and relationships are all great in this one. Easily my favorite of the two TASM films and probably pretty high on my overall Spider-Man rankings. Although i will save that list for your post No Way Home rankings video! 😀
P.s. Do you think i can go without watching Eternals until after No Way Home? I don't think there'd be much tying the two together, but thought I'd ask anyway. 😁
This so in depth on why this movie was such a let down and isn't well liked.
It had mixed reviews when it came out, but at time progressed, people came to the conclusion that this movie is a mess due to studio meddling by Sony.
What makes a good critic is someone who understands what makes a good story and you fit the bill.
TAMS1 not only had the writer from SPIDERMAN 2, but also had a writer from the HARRY POTTER movies, and a writer from ZODIAC
All because of LAURA ZISKIN!
TAMS2 on the other hand, had the writers from TRANSFORMERS
All because of AVI ARAD!!!
I was reading about Spider-Man: The Animated Series 1994 apparently Avi Arad mandated a lot of things for the show that eventually caused it to cancel
The Alternative ending was way better where they show Peter's dad and Andrew Garfield showed his emotions he could've won an oscar.
What makes a good movie critic is someone who appreciates a good story and you fit the bill.
Can you review more classic movies in depth like this like The Little Mermaid or Batman v Superman, or Man of Steel, or Beauty and the Beast?
I'm telling ya, if Sony doesn't get rid of AVI ARAD
Their cinematic universe isn't gonna last long
I like how Sean Chandler and Cody Leach have almost the same exact scedule this week!
Same lol 😂
The Amazing Spider-man 2 is actually really enjoyable for me. The relationships were great and the action is enjoyable. Mark Webb is amazing. Garfield is perfect. Gwen Stacy is amazing. Electro was legitimately frightening. A true master piece
Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say MASTERPIECE, but it is still good I'd say!
Enjobale doesnt mean good
Lmfaooo people just throw “masterpiece” around nowadays to anything
Agreed, not sure about masterpiece
Does masterpiece even mean anything anymore?😂
Dayum we get Sean pre super soldier serum 😂😂😂
I have honestly really liked this movie since i first saw it the only things i didn't think were good was the electro design and the green goblin design
I won’t lie to you guys this is in my top three my favourite Spidey movies I just love it so much
I know that the Amazing Spider-Man films aren't as cohesive as some of the others. However, these movies have a special place in my heart as I've always believed Gwen Stacy to be Peter's one true love whereas every other Spider-Man adaptation focuses on Mary Jane. It was just a nice change to see this relationship brought to life - Peter's first love. Also, Emma Stone was absolute perfect casting to portray Gwen; her death scene truly was one of the most heartbreaking scenes I've witnessed in a superhero movie and Andrew's acting in that moment made it even more gut wrenching. I dunno man, they're not the best, but I do really enjoy these films.
Yeah they were actually planning to set up Mary Jane after Gwens death like the comics I couldn’t get behind their relationship it was just not needed and 😬sometimes no matter while to me it’s really mediocre it is enjoyable
My favorite superhero movie of all-time!!
My real question for everyone. If this movie WAS part of the MCU, where would you rank it? Imo it's better than Thor 2, Iron Man 2, Eternals, and Captain Marvel.
It being in the MCU wouldn’t change anything for me honestly I’m glad Tom is our MCU Spider-Man so it would probably make it worse
Thor 2 is trash but iron man 2 is better than it ,but i would rank iron man 2 above tasm2
I love these spiderman reviews your doing, cant wait for NO WAY HOME!!!!!
Wake up babe sean chandler just released a new spider-man review
That Rhino impression had me dying
I've seen NWH this morning, you're gonna like it
Gwen Stacy’s death near the end is so so sad and always makes me cry, Andrew’s reaction is so sad. He’s an amazing actor
I actually don’t mind the amazing Spider-Man 2. Andrew Garfield’s spider man is my favorite. I heard Spider man no way home is good. I hope you enjoy the movie!😁
This movie is a lot better than people give it credit for. The story is not written the best and is a little all over the place but the characters themselves are very well written and feel like real people. There are a lot of amazing scenes and there is a lot to like about this movie but people just crap on it to be part of the crowd. I have seen many people say this movie is absolute garbage and whenever I ask them why they feel that way, they can't give a compelling answer. So, if you are someone who didn't like this movie the first time you saw it, definitely watch it again and I promise you will appreciate it more.
I think if they just told a simple story with Harry Osborn and making him a copelling (not literal) Green Goblin, this would have benn a really good film bec as sean said, the actors and direrctor put everything into this film and i was dissapointed and feel bad that marc webb could not tell the story he wanted to tell
I guess this would be what is considered a guilty pleasure movie for me lol. I love this movie, and it’s one of my favorite Spider-Man films. 👀
This is the best score in the Spiderman movie besides the first 3, The Spiderman theme is goated and Rivals Sami Rami theme. Han Zimmer went crazy
I really like the "My Enemy" Electro song.
I hated this film back in 2014 and hated how they were more interested in making a Sinister Six film that I was proud to hear it was cancelled in 2015, though I feel bad for Andrew and how Sony not giving him a trilogy
This movie should of been split into 2 movies. You have the electro stuff in amazing Spider-Man 2 whilst laying the path for the parent stuff and Harry Goblin. Then in 3 you pay all that off and kill gwen stacy.
Hey Sean, I've seen No Way Home. It's great.
@@trvjcbsn Eh, not really. Gets close though.
Today I Just Realized What This Movie Really Is, What The Plots Really Are, The Plots Are Good, But They Messed It All Up By Mixing All These Great Plots, There Were Good Ideas, But It Was Never Executed Well, Each Plot Is Great, Suppose, One Plot Is Cake, One Plot Is Pizza, And One Plot Is Fried Chicken, And We All Love It, But When You Just Mix It All Together In One Recipe, It Just Doesn't Work, And This Movie Is Just Like It, Like Cake Plot Is Great And Yummy, Pizza Plot Is Also Yummy, But If You Mix Cake And Pizza And Just Make A Dish It Will Not Work, Same Happened With This Movie, Great Ideas, But Did Not Work When They Were Combined
One line i cant stand… “Don’t you know? I’m Electro” i hate that line..I’m a Dane Dehaan fan.. he did great as Harry Osborn.. didnt sell me as the goblin…
To me he did terrible as both but I respect your opinion and I agree with the first part of your comments
I’m one of the ones where this is my second favorite Spider-Man movie there’s a lot of action and feelings in this movie and the music oh my god best music ever and then the set up for the best movie that was ever gonna be made and I fell apart when it was cancelled
The amazing spiderman 2 is an enjoyable sequel in my opinion despite it's flaws, the special effects are incredible and great acting from Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Dane Dehaan and Sally Field!
Throughout this review and the one for TASM 1, I was waiting with ANT-icipation for you to make the joke that movies about spiders were directed by a guy named Marc WEBB.
Also, for my money, the spider suit in this film is the best out of all Spider-Man films.
TASM2 got the best spiderman suit better than TASM1 & Spiderman 3 imo
This is just a worse Spider-Man 3. While there are good elements, and the relationship between Peter and Gwen is fantastic, the villains are not good. Electro and Rhino are particularly awful. While Harry is the “best” villain, he should have been in the previous movie for a better setup. I felt there that was rushed. The story wasn’t good. The plot with Peter’s parents should have been cut. It also setups future movies too much. I don’t think the movie is bad, but it is disappointing!
I agree with you. If they really wanted to make a good film, they would let the director do what he wanted, and helped told a compelling story. Also they could have not rushed the story to a sinister 6 film and made the movie good. Maybe then we could have gotten a good amazing Spider-Man 3. Granted I do feel like Andrew Garfield deserves another film. #theamazingspiderman3
I always crack up when I see Sean imitate the Rhino
I agree with your take completely. Definitely one of my lesser liked Spider-Man movies, but, there is some good here.
I would like see full director cut of this movie to see how big of a mess it really is
It's kinda weird cause it's original title was amazing spider man 2 rise of electro and now it's just been shortened over it's existence after cinemas
I think Spider-Man:Claws of Connors and Spider-Man:Rise of Electro would be nice names rather than “Amazing”
Love the channel Sean keep it up
I think you and I are on the same boat with this film!
I actually love this film, I think it would be way better if you made Max Dillon less goofy in his scenes before becoming Electro and you focused a bit more on Harry feeling betrayed by Peter and Spider-Man
I actually think this is my favourite Spider-Man movie
It's not as bad as most people say
It’s my favorite too
To me it’s Mediocre but your opinion
I never was a fan of the special or historical connection to being extraordinary plots that is over played. It might now be over played in super hero movies, but it surely overplayed in majority of new characters.
This movie has an amazing score except for the electro stuff
The biggest pro of this movie is the the 2 main characters are very grounded. and the biggest con is that the villains are very cartoonish (like even more than sami rami's villains). these 2 things don't meld well at all
I just got out of the cinema from No Way Home, I won't spoil but OH MY GOOODD, AHHHH!!!!
Biggest flaw in my opinion, and I know there many, is wasting Paul Giomatti. I LOVE that guy. I even love Lady in The Water almost solely because he was great with what he was given. But wth was this? You're right Sean, it must have been red bull and cocaine..
Is this the same room as Chris Stuckmann? Basically the same design if not.
This movie is the biggest mixed bag I’ve ever seen. The good parts in this movie are the best we’ve ever gotten in any Spider-Man but the bad parts of this movie are the worst we’ve ever gotten. Rewatching this, this has definitely moved up a lot for me. This has the best acting, CGI, web swinging, costume, and relationships. One thing I’ve realized about these 2 movies is the dreadfulness you feel knowing how it ends. This is a Spider-Man who failed to save his world. So in the end, the highs are the highest of highs and the lows are the lowest of lows. Oh, the potential this series had!!!!!
It is because of AVI ARAD that I'm not optimistic about MORBIUS
Or even UNCHARTED and BORDERLANDS!!!
I love this movie in like a so bad its good way. The Electro stuff kills me
I really like the amazing spider man 2, it’s pretty good and very fun and entertaining
Yeah, TASM movies are my favorite Spider Man movies apart from No Way Home
Spidermans relationship ark and how he falls into this deep depression while living wth the guilt of her death hits so hard 2 me.
I have to be honest this movie is kind of a guilty pleasure for me. Andrew Garfield is really great, the story is intriguing, and the relationship between Peter and Gwen is, in my opinion, the best relationship in any Spider-Man movie. Now I would still put this in the bottom of the Spider-Man movies but I do enjoy it quite a bit.
I always say Andrew and Emma were great in spite of the bad writing.
I'd give this film 2.5/5 (or 5/10). It's just 'meh' for me. Easily my least favourite of the Spider-Man (plus Venom) films. And I've seen NWH, but obviously that wasn't gonna bad.
I definitely like the first movie better than this one. The tone isn't consistent. Electro as a character isn't interesting, it's weird how nerdy Jamie foxx looks and the electro design doesn't look good. The story is weak but I still enjoy this film. Of course Andrew and Emma have amazing chemistry and they give such grounded, believable performances. The character interactions and relationships feel very real. The action scenes are shot and directed in such a captivating, unique way. And it has great emotion as well. The CGI is also amazing
Seriously this movie had so many plotpoints, characters, terrible motivations, pacing, out of character moments and concepts never fully explored this movie gets a 3/10
I understand the pacing was a bit off and it had too many plot points. However, I disagree with everything else you said. The characters were great and they all had valid motivations. They explored every concept that they introduced well enough. Also, what out-of-character moments are you talking about?
@@pranavnnair5 Spider Man literally Trash Talks Rhino while he is driving and hitting full random Cars likely full of innocents, instead of stoping him like the real Spiderman he literally just talks while Rhino is just Ramming Cars
Before toms movies this was my second fav next to rami Spider-Man 2
Unrelated, but what movie does everyone think will win Best Picture this year?
I’m sure free guy will win best comedy
This one will possibly win
I didn't really like this one. I didn't buy the Electro going blue thing. And it felt like a repeat of Batman and Robin. Hopefully, this new one will redeem Electro especially with all the other baddies. And the plotlines were not all that good. Super pumped for No Way Home and wanting to see what they do with Electro specifically.
The amazing spider-man 2 isn't good. But it's not bad. It's the best type of an ok movie. It has lots of fun stuff but lots of bad stuff. The relationships are great the characters are good and Gwen's death it great. The Cinematography is great the acting is awesome. And I didn't actually mind electro or green goblin too much. But Harry's eye brows are distracting and goofy. I don't like how they make it so Peter is the only one who can become spider-man. All together it's an ok movie. But there is alot bad stuff I didn't mention
I think Garfield and Stone are great, and the scenes with them are really good. Gwen's death is absolutely gut wrenching and extremely well directed. The action and visuals are pretty good, too. That said, it really annoys me how these movies keep going back to Peter's parents, and they literally add nothing to this movie or the previous one. There are also way too many villains and not one of them is good. Electro is shockingly(I swear that pun wasn't intended) lame and corny, and not in a good way. He's really awkward before he turns into Dr. Manhattan, and it seems like a failed attempt to make him sympathetic. Rhino is hysterical, but stupid. Harry is a horrible waste of a character, as it seems like they rushed his arc, making it difficult to care about him. And once he turns into Green Meanie, it's unbelievably stupid. I also think that the movie would've been a little bit better if Harry had been replaced with Norman. It still would've felt overcrowded, but Norman doesn't have to be sympathetic. I also don't really like Dane DeHaan's performance, and Chris Cooper outdid him in the one scene he was in when he was sitting in a bed, looking like Ebenezer Scrooge. He also looks really, really awful. The villain teases and ending also feel awkward, as there was never a third movie.
Yea only thing good in this movie was the relationship and chemistry. Also the action is good. But overall still bottoms tier Spider-Man film.
Taco Bell for me this one!
I prefer it too the amazing spiderman 1
and spiderman 3.
I love Andrew Garfield as an actor. His range is unbelievable. It’s such a shame his Spider-Man movies are on the lower tier although I enjoy them way more than both of Tom’s solo movies.
Okay. I’m in the beginning stages of making videos talking about movies because I absolutely love movies and everyone I talk to about them has no interest lol how do I add a clip of a movie with the “fandango” thing underneath or “Netflix” and do I have to put where the clip is from when I upload it?
This film is honestly somewhere between a 5-6/10 C or C+ for me. It not only evokes more cringe-worthy moments than Spider-Man 3, but its also carries one of the strongest Peter love relationships (at least without seeing No Way Home) and has aa tearjerking moment at the end. It's so unfortunate how inconsistent it is and with a tighter script and less subplots, it could've easily been the strongest Spidey story to date up there with Spider-Man 2 and Into the Spider-Verse.
I think it could have, and would have been a great movie if Sony didn't tamper with it as much as they did
Im glad im not the only one thinking tasm movies are cringe worthy
Spider man no way home

Hope someday a director's cut is released
I think the movie would've worked a lot better if they just chose Electro or Green Goblin. I think Harry's story is a bit more intriguing than Max's and works better with the death of Gwen Stacy, so that's who I would choose, but I also understand that they don't want to redo what Raimi's trilogy did and want to do someone knew, so I get why they brought Electro in. Either way, both characters could've used more time to flesh out their stories and develop why they're a villain. With Electro, he was beat down by society and there are seeds as to why he could eventually turn, but the turning point is when his face is replaced by Spider-Man's on the camera, which is just a really disappointing turning point. If he was the only villain, we could've spent more time on building up the dominoes and finding the one thing that knocked them all down and caused him to hate Spider-Man. With Harry, his desperation and want to cure himself make sense (even if the disease shouldn't be so fast-acting because of his father). What doesn't make sense is why he suddenly becomes evil and murder-y. Again, if he had more time, we could explore what exactly makes him so desperate and when he reaches the tipping point of insanity. But with both of these characters eating each other's screentime, we end up with two villains who are close to being really good, but not quite there.
Also, there was no need for the parent storyline. I've enjoyed this movie the times I've seen it despite its issues, but this subplot always just has me bored. We don't need to know what happened to his parents or that he is the only one who can be Spider-Man. We just want to see him be Spider-Man. Let his parents just rest in peace.
To me if Norman was in Harry’s role looked good, and died to set up Harry would be cool so I agree
What you said happened to Jamie fox in this video happened to Andrew Garfield in the last movie.
13:14 Sean's breaking point lmao
He did that exact same thing last time he talked about TAS2 in a ranking video 🤣🤣🤣
I enjoy this film
After seeing an amazing Harry Osborne in the original spider-man trilogy, it was disappointing to see the new Harry
Peter Parker is the one person that could get bit by the spider. And he just so happens to get accidentally bit by a spider
