Recently Sasha and I had our friends Sergio and Cindy over for dinner.
They requested I play them some music so I did. Here are parts of 3 recordings they filmed on a phone. This 1967 Guild F512 - 12 string guitar was originally owned by recording artist Tim Buckley. Years ago he gave it to my friend Jesse James. Last year Jesse passed away and he gave it to me The Guitar is happy to join my other 5 vintage Guilds, two of them 12 strings. Thank you Laurie James for giving it to me. The 1965 Yamaha Grand Piano was owned by President Richard Nixon before my friend Corky Carroll purchased it from him. He sold it to me in 1980. Enjoy!

Interesting. This is not the custom 512 that was seen later in Tim’s career, that guitar had the standard f50 block/triangle inlays, while this instrument has the earlier snowflake inlays. It’s a lovely instrument, almost certainly braz, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen footage or a photo of Tim with this particular guitar.

Amazing piece of musical history! Do you mind me asking, "why Tim decided to gift the guitar to your friend Jesse?"
