The thing that bothers me the most is that I have achieved the minimum requirement of the IELTS (overall of band 8) but it will expire this December. you will have to retake the IELTS, it is reasonable to assume that they will only be used after their submission deadline which is next year and your current expires this month. you are definitely going to have to retake them. good luck with them.

They only accept 1 year programmes. It's on the official chevening website.

No, it wouldn't. To be safe, apply to the University once you're called for an interview. You then must really know you're close to bagging it.
