An issue I’ve fought for years. I’ve never been able to find anyone that acknowledged it being an issue before. My previous Toro I used to wedge a 2x4 between the bag and handlebar, but this wore the bag. My new Toro SR I took two washers and welded 1/8” rod 6” long to the edge. Put a washer behind each handlebar bracket bolt at that same bottom corner. Bent the 1/8” rod to come around and sit right in line with the metal bag frame, just a hair behind. Bag slides inside them when putting it on and they prevent it lifting up more than a few mm. So no extra step on that when mounting the bag.
Nice 👍 I’ve always had issues with all the small mowers I’ve had. I think because here in the PNW with all the rain the lawns are all so bumpy. Thanks for watching.
I never even thought of that it’s a good idea but I never really had that issue with my push mowers although next time I mow I’ll pay attention to that
Yeah only an issue on rough bumpy lawns during summer months when lawns are dry and there are less clippings. Once the lawns growth starts getting heavy again in the fall it’s not an issue as the bag fills quicker and the weight of the grass clippings keeps the bag from bouncing around. Thanks for watching.
I have not seen it in person yet, just pictures. It does look solid. Basically the exact commercial gas version of the mower with the engine replaced with a battery powered version. I’m excited to get my hands on one. Thanks for watching.
Actually it’s a problem I’ve noticed on all small mowers at one time or another, including the commercial 21 and even the Honda HRC-216 I used previously. Only when mowing lumpy lawns around this time of year. I think it’s because the ground is so hard from the summer drought. If it’s a manicured smooth flat lawn or it’s getting enough water and has some give to the soil, or the lawn is growing heavily and there’s lots of clippings, it’s never an issue. Thanks for watching.
My lawn mower bag blows the grass and dirt in my face while I cut the grass. Any tips? I hate have grass and dirt blowing in my face while sweating buckets on a hot Sumner day.
What I’ve done in the past is just lay a small tarp like 4X6 or so on the ground and empty the bag onto tarp. Can usually empty two bags worth on tarp plus still have the bag itself. Either carry the tarp over your shoulder at the end or tie the corner s off to make a bundle and put it on top of the mower to have the self propel carry the load to the truck. Thanks for watching.
@@LawnCareBusinessSuccess There some really big battery banks meant for camping. What would be cool is getting a cheap Dethatchers powered by an extension cable that you would plug into the bank. The electric cord powered Dethatchers are likely safer to use on steep hills in comparison a really heavy gas powered machine. You would also be able to use the battery bank for other industrial applications. I'm not refering to a battery bank like your girlfreind would put in her purse. I'm referring to something like the "Anker SOLIX F1200 Portable Power Station, PowerHouse 757, 1500W Solar Generator, 1229Wh Battery Generator" Perhaps you could get a few cheap dethachers to plug into a single battery bank for a team effort on large lawns.
It's a shame you have to do this to a $2,000 mower. Just got the scag 21 7hp and the bag leaks all over the place around top and side edges due to poor fit. Going to try and seal cracks/ spacing with foam tape
Lots of mowers I’ve used over the years have the same issue. Only an issue on bumpy lawns. Not every lawn is smooth and flat though. That’s why I thought I’d share this tip I’ve used for years. Thanks for watching.
I thought my 28in cub cadet was having a major issue. Appreciate you acknowledging this problem. But why can the bag even open up that way. It’s a crazy design flaw.
Let me know in the comments below if you have used this trick when bagging rough lawns.
Sweet , simple tip , but hey
I never thought of it
Works great when you need it on those bumpy lawns. Thanks for watching.

I Learn from your videos
I used this heavy brick in the bag but now I’ll try this!
Glad you found value in the video. Thanks for watching.

It's amazing how many things we fix with these elastic cords.
One of honda needed a cords from new or the whole catcher would fall
Yes very handy to have. I keep a bunch of them in all different sizes in the work truck. Thanks for watching.
This is a trick I will totally try this weekend. Thank you
No problem. Thanks for watching
This is really good tip..
Thanks for sharing your expertise
For someone like me who just started first season ☺️😎

Awesome! What length bungee cord did you buy?
Great video
Thank you so much
Glad you found value in the video. Thanks for watching.
What length bungee cord are yo using there? Thanks for a great tip.
Mine throws it out of the top under the flap so I wedge a piece of foam under it. I also blow out the bag so air will flow. Seems to help.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing and watching.
Have you seen the new battery powered Commercial 21 from Exmark yet? It looks to be a pretty solid machine.

Thanks Joe Rogan. It works!!
Is that just a problem for the 30" because I've got a exmark 21" and haven't noticed it

I will try to notice next time I cut

hire someone to mow for you
Genius
Thanks for watching.
What do you think of the idea of having multiple bags in which you fill up one after the other to dispose of clippings once the job is done?
I Like that idea! Even if its just two bags, Thats one less trip to the truck!

Or, simply mow at a slower pace 😅
Nah! Time is money. If I could run behind the mowers I would. 😂 Thanks for watching.
