    So good! Thanks for this video. Since you asked for what content viewers are interested in I’ll pipe up. I’d love to see you ‘build’ a standard guitar pedal board in AUM. Compressor, drive, delay, reverb, using the beatstep for some parameters and a midi footswitch to change patches and turn individual ‘pedals’ on and off. Boost for solo etc. I can kind of piece it together from your more advanced videos but it would be awesome to have all in one place. And I bet I’m not the only one who would love that video. Thanks!!

      Great idea! As soon as I get a MIDI foot switch I’ll get on it.

    Hey Jacob, great vid as usual. Question... do you not have to go into your MIDI Matrix and make the connection between the BSP and the MIDI Control in AUM? I can't seem to get them to talk otherwise so you must have don't this before you started the video?

    Yeah! Great video. Was hoping that you would do a video with the BSP and AUM. You do very well thought out and educationally solid videos. From one music teacher to another great work. I’m very new to iOS and generative music production a d your videos are my go to’s for support.

    Logan, fantastic walk through! Thanks for the huge Ruismaker Noir tip! 🙌🏽 Also, what are your recommendations for stacking keys to trigger chords with Beatstep or Beatstep Pro's monophonic pads? 👊🏽😏

    Great job on this setup. Been thinking about the Beatstep for awhile, yet, was not sure since I already have some amount of hardware.n This is very enticing.

      It was great for me since I use both digital synths and drums as well as Eurorack, and the BSP is great for both. Thanks for watching!

    Please help: I have two ipads, a usb-c 2020 ipad proand a 8th gen lightning ipad. I want to connect one of my korg volcas to either ipad. I can connect the volca to my focusrite interface and then the interface to a hub then the hub to my ipad lightning and in AUM when I select hardware input, I get a cord symbol and usb detection. But when I do the same for my usb-c ipad and select hardware input, I only get a microphone "HDSET" symbol. I am still getting sound, but why do I not get a cord usb symbol from AUM on the usb-c ipad pro? Any help is appreciated. Really like your vids too!

    Very informative presentation, thank you! I have been considering a hardware controller for AUM and just trying to decide between this and the Circuit Tracks which seems to offer some similar options for sequencing a couple of tracks. One thing that was not obvious: does the sequencer run while it is in controller mode to allow for tweaking synth parameters as sequences are playing? And any thoughts on a comparison between the BSP and Circuit Tracks specifically for use with AUM and iOS synths? Much appreciated.

    Hi Logan, your video has been very helpful, thank you, I have a question, I have a camera adapter with only one usb port and the beat step pro works quite well, only when I connect a mini plug to the ipad output it stops working, my question is how you get the ipad audio to your monitors???

    • @MobileMusicMaker
      @MobileMusicMaker  3 года назад +1

      I use a powered usb hub. My audio interface, the BSP, and my keyboard is run into it. I have a video on connecting hardware that shows the whole setup. My iPad doesn’t have a headphone jack so I have to go through my Tascam interface.

      @@MobileMusicMaker thank you so much logar i wonder if you use any other plugin than ruismaker to create percusión ?
      I have problems with the sequencer 2, I select channel 2 in AUM and the sound is combined with channel 1, what can I do? I thank you infinitely for your help !!

    • @MobileMusicMaker
      @MobileMusicMaker  3 года назад +1

      I use several different apps for percussion. Patterning 2 is a favorite, but I've had trouble getting it to work with the BSP. I like Ruismaker FM and Noir as well.
      Make sure that channel 1 is not set to receive Omni Midi. Or make sure the BSP is only routed to the channel you want to hear.
      I hope that helped.

      I’m not entirely sure, I don’t have a BSP anymore. But I don’t see why not, the BSP is powered, so it shouldn’t pull too much power. Not sure about Koala compatibility, though.

    How can i sync the beatstep with the ipad🤯🤯

    • @MobileMusicMaker
      @MobileMusicMaker  Год назад

      If you were using AUM, you will need to connect the beatstep to midi control in the midi routing section. Then you will need to go to the clock options under the tempo marking in the top left hand send clock to the Beatstep.

  • @lwpweb
    @lwpweb 2 года назад

    yeah: how to sync with the tempo?

    • @MobileMusicMaker
      @MobileMusicMaker  2 года назад +1

      If you have the BSP plugged in with USB, you should see it as a destination for tempo sync in the AUM tempo settings. If you have the newest version, click the tempo in the top left, then the three dots on the right of the metronome icon. Under SYNC you should see an option for MIDI Clock Send. If you click that you'll see a button to enable it and then at the bottom destinations for where to send it. You should the BSP there. I don't think there's a way for AUM to receive a midi clock, unless it's been added in the last few months and I haven't caught the update. You might check the manual or Facebook groups to be sure.

      AUM is a mixer for iPad, the sentiment remains the same in something like Garageband
