In the previous elections of 2014 and 2019, the BJP secured the lone Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat. This year, Congress and AAP have united to field Manish Tewari, a former Union Minister and current Congress MP from Punjab's Anandpur Sahib, against BJP's Sanjay Tandon, who replaces the sitting MP Kirron Kher.
