- Role of the Auditor General and OAG
In the system of governance in Uganda, responsibility and accountability go together. The Executive collects, disburses and manages public funds. Each government agency is answerable to the public and the taxpayers, on the manner in which it performs its stewardship functions.
The institution of the Office of the Auditor-General, also known as the Supreme Audit Institution of Uganda, has been created by the Constitution and the National Audit Act 2008 to act on behalf of the citizens of Uganda, in providing an independent assurance on the use of public resources (Article 163 of the Constitution).
Perfect information, it was clear and enriched my understanding on the different reports that the OAG submits. K.I.P

As we drill the oil, we need to minimise politics at play, enforce the rule of law plus other discriminatory tendencies to avoid the escalating levels of corruption. Former Youth MP Gerald Karuhanga blew the whistle pinning Hon. Sam Kutesa over the same but wonder whether this gentleman has been disciplined over the allegations. His overstay in the ministry is also questionable and could dig a deep grave for the Foreign Affairs Ministry as it happened with UNRA under the reign of John Nasasira (22yrs -MOWT). 13 trillion is down the trench; did this happen when Byandala came on board?
Again, we observe ministerial appointments where 6 ministers are from the Bunyoro region namely; Tumwebaze, Kasirivu Atwooki, Adolf Mwesige, Tom Butiime etc Does this mean where resources are, the more ministers?
Oil drilling is so critical to the extent that it brings about instability which is not healthy for any developing economy like uganda.
