About the show:
The nationwide search for the next superstar kicked off in August as the Idol Bus traveled covering 23 cities across the country. Auditioning was made easier than ever as hopefuls also had the opportunity to submit audition videos online as well as via select social media platforms using an official tag The Next Idol cultivating over 300,000 posts. Also for the first time in “American Idol” history hopefuls had the opportunity to audition through a livestream platform.
Helping to determine who America will ultimately vote for to become the next singing sensation are music industry forces and superstar judges Luke Bryan Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Host and producer Ryan Seacrest will return as host of the beloved series.

2nd on this show is better than 1st
He's too good for American Idol. He's humble, shy, socially awkward... but someone who is who he is, genuine & won't be easily manipulated to be the "pop star" someone else wants him to be.
We would have never discovered his genius. The music he's produced since the show probably would not meet the parameters of the kind of music they want. This guy is a music genius and he is producing HIS music, not pop but a combination of so many flavors all wrapped up into one piece of music in many cases.

I don't know 'bout ya'll but for me I think this performance is one of his most genuine performance. With just the way on how he turned Coldplay's song into something that I've never felt before.

He’s releasing a 21 song double album next month and several songs are with an orchestra. It’s going to be epic! It’s rumored to have Blesser on it. 🤞 He’s already released two songs from it plus tons of other music he’s released since Idol. Scarypoolparty rocks

This is what you call a “performance.” Where you captivate the audience and they forget where they’re at.
This is the gold standard for covering a Coldplay song. So beautiful, exquisite, and moving.

@@SolidSnake.1 I feel you, but trust me when I say Alejandro is glad he didn’t win. He negotiated a very nice contract with Hollywood records so he has the creative control. He’s released a full album and two EPs and some additional singles. The music he released is in every genre because he just loves all styles of music. He is currently working on another album and released a new single last week. He’s been touring (except 2020 which got canceled due to Covid grrr) since right Idol ended.
I saw him live 4 times in 2019. If anyone yelled out about how he should have won, he always puts a stop to it and says it wasn’t about winning.
He’s doing an intimate acoustic tour right now and I’m seeing him 6/13 for two shows in Nashville and 6/14 for one show in Memphis. He’s scheduled for some festivals and will probably announce another tour very soon. He had a European tour scheduled for 2020, but it was cancelled due to Covid and rescheduled for 2022 along with the Mad Cool festival in Spain. Follow him on everything under “Scarypoolparty” which is his stage name.
The actual “winner” has only put out 3 singles in the last two years. No album. He is doing some touring and still has a nice fan base.

Discovering alejandro again in 2021, i am sorry i forgot about him during covid, never again
All of his tours and festivals were cancelled in 2020. Grrr He’s currently doing an intimate acoustic tour for June. I’ll see him in Nashville and Memphis next Sunday and Monday. Saw him 4 times in 2019 and he never disappoints.

It was solidified that he would be the American Idol after this performance. One of the best performance in the history of American Idol no doubt. Perfection in tone, technique, lyricism, and delivery.

It must be surreal to have Coldplay cover your song.
I go days and days investigating world happenings. Stressing about all the shenanigans humans are up to across this plain of existence. Then, I take a break and go a day or more listening to everything Alejandro has created and I Re-Ground. Thank all that is Holy that he is here to remind us to appreciate that we are living in the most incredible time in thousands of years and we must slow down and appreciate our lives and each other. Much love to Alejandro and my fellow man!

I hope you follow him on everything. It’s always under his stage name “Scarypoolparty” I saw him 4 times in 2019. 2020 tours and festivals cancelled due to Covid. I’m seeing him 3 times this month. He’s doing a small acoustic tour which started in AZ a few days ago. He’s released 1 album, 2 EPs and is working on another album now. He released a single “Friends” Friday which will be on his new upcoming album.

I just watched this again after seeing his new video cover. Both are incredible, but this one stands at the very top for me...unrivaled, genuine, flawless...indelibly haunting to the last note. And when he smiles at the 2:00 mark, I just melt all over again. There's absolutely nothing those judges could have said that would have done this justice.

It’s amazing how within his time constraint was able to create this massive layer of tension and release within that song that wasn’t there in Coldplay’s original version, truly genius
This version of Yellow is so much better than the original. This one that Alejandro sings just kills me. I want to cry uncontrollably. At 1:54 when he really strums that guitar, that right there is enough to make me fall apart.

I'm still here too. He had other opportunities is the reason he left Idol. I live in California and eventually will see him in concert. Saving money to see him. What a talent.

I live on the East Coast and I saw him 4 times in 2019. The ticket prices were only about $25 -$35. Of course, much more for a festival. I had tickets for 2020, but everything was cancelled due to Covid. He’s currently doing a short and intimate acoustic tour. I will be seeing him next Sunday and Monday in Nashville and Memphis. The tickets are not expensive.
Make sure you are following him under Scarypoolparty because he has a lot of music he’s released since Idol ended and that’s a great way to get info about upcoming tours and festivals.

Alejandro is MAGIC. And his version of a yellow, unbelievable.. his ability to put together chords and compliment his guitar with his soft spoken angelic voice is just unmatched. I’m in love with this guy. It’s rare to bring me to tears with just a song. But his style does. Just imagine being there live to witness that magic with the one you wanna spend your life with. It’s the only season I’ve ever watched because of this talented young man! Excited for the 22 song double album being released 8/26. I think 10 or 11 of the songs will be with an orchestra.
