most HALF LIFE games, especially the remake of this one, black mesa, usually have much more either "epic" or "sad" credits themes. for me personally, it was one of the things that made endings in those games quite unsatisfying, aside from HL2 which had a decently satisfying ending. this is the only HL game where the only ending theme is like this, and it was so damn satisfying to hear it.
I feel like they had to use sad music for ep2, It would be innapropriate for a *certain devastanting plot advancement* and Then outnowhere party music start playing

"Very good, Mr. Freeman! I will see you on the other side..." *Cue the music!* 😀 As a 2000's kid, it's impressive how well some aspects of this game have held up to today. Just finished the HL2 Series of games for my first time and it was a blast as well. Ahhhhhh...I just wish Valve would come back and make more timeless classics like they did not so long ago (though it probably will NEVER happen.) 😔
Subject: Me Status: Waiting for anything Post-Status: It's almost 2025, there is still no information about mentioned on a GabeN AMA in 2017 singleplayer game in Half-Life/Portal universe.
It’s 30 December 1999, you and your friends are waiting the year 2000 by playing half life, you play all the evening and after hours you, with your friends, manage to beat the game, gman greets you to the long-waited year 2000 and this song plays. It’s the beginning of a new Era.
This theme perfectly fits the end of this game I'm my opinion. Obviously, the heavy usage of synth represents the alien and supernatural events that take place in black mesa, but still has some human elements. A few of the instruments also have a lot of echo to them, almost like your hearing it come from the first area of the game, echoing through the same journey you took to beat the game.
+Егор Самохвалов Nope. Half-Life took 2 years to make. Half-Life 2 took 6 years to make. 2*3=6 Right? So Half-Life 3's gonna take 18 years to make because 6*3=18. Problem solved.
The most interesting thing is that after you have just completed the game and listen to it, you feel sad and after you've been gone for a long time and listen again, it's funny

For a game about surviving the worst man made disaster imaginable, and the implications of what occurs after the ending of the game, this song is so oddly out of place and cheery
I love how the game ends with Gordon getting kidnapped and placed in stasis for 20 years, and then this is what plays immediately after
it still felt good because i just launched 6 rockets and a bunch of random bullets and ammuntions into a giant flying fetus in another dimension

I always thought the ladies were singing "Go go, girl!" Or "Go Gor-doon!"
