    Looking pretty mature already to me. Good job guys. I never think about the wider impact of droughts. 🤔

    Great work. Sorry to hear about the high loss rate of vegetation around the lake. You mentioned that the trees on the island did better, but weren't sure why. I was wondering if it might have been less compacted than the outside of the lake ...

      Yeah good point... but the island was also built up to level. So same compaction levels.

    So glad I found your channel. I am semi retiring next year and will buy somewhere in the southwest with enough land to have my own 3 acre lake dug.
    I am trying to find an online resource to look at soil make up/topography when looking at potential properties. Any help and tips greatly appreciated! Thanks again for sharing all this knowledge and experience!

      Thanks.. hopefully the videos help. Always happy to chat when you start..
      Not sure if youve seen this page before.. but may help with rough ideas of soil make up.
      Nothing beats some test holes to be sure.

      Will be fishing on there one day.. not sure in what form yet.. syndicate/private/charity events. For now will be left alone for everything to settle in.

    This project is absolutely brilliant. Just out of interest are you feeding the fish you stocked or just letting them have their naturals you have setup already. They obviously enjoying the shallows rooting grubbing through all the weed hunting natural neutrision

    • @tomorrowsforests
      @tomorrowsforests  5 месяцев назад +1

      When we first stocked the fish we fed due to there being almost zero weed and natural food, as the weed has come up we have weened off the feed. We are using the carps weight as an indicator of how well the whole eceosytem is doing. Thinking being.. if they are gaining weight, lots of naturals = healthy ecosytem.
