@@malcolmhowe6602 which was revenge for Versailles, let's face it British policy of the time was to prevent any major power from dominating the continent. We should have stayed out of the 1914 conflict and maybe Southampton and dozens of other European cities would still look like this.

Wow - the planners and architects really screwed Southampton - what a beautiful place it once was - you can’t really blame it on the Luftwaffe
