This pretty much seems to be an upscale version of the Bandai HG The Origin Zaku II, except for a few parts where the grey frame comes through the body like on the chest and back of the legs, and of course the leg and torso tubing. Just to let people know this isn’t a completely original internal frame design. I’ll still probably buy this if I can get my hands on it, 1/72 is a great scale, it’s not quite PG sized but bigger than an MG.
Not a just regular HG though. The HG GTO, which has details on par with RG if not more. 1/100 and 1/60 are "Bandai" scale. The "reasoning", whether you believe it or not, is that 1/72 is a scale that Bandai would never make. Which makes all the 1/72 kits, "original third party". If they make it at a scale Bandai might decide to make later on, it would be a fake "bootleg".
This is actually a pretty nice idea, just upscale an HGO design that already looks great and have decent details. Kinda like Mega size 1/48 Gundam. Too bad they don't start with HGO RX-78-2 Gundam. I love HGO designs, I hope they continue esp. Bugu, Guncannon etc.

The 1/72 scale is so awkward. Why they didn't just made it into 1/100, or go all the way to 1/60.

IDk if you are aware that 1/72 is standard scale of miniature or military model kit. So technically you can fit another non gunpla miniatures with it.

I think the origin zaku doesn't come with one, in the ova char using the sniper rifle
Hg kit comes with standard zaku machine gun and belt-fed machine gun.
