Herr Antrim, you've done it yet again, the exact resources I needed for my exam. You are a god send to all online German students (or maybe just me 😆)

Glad I could be of assistance. With as many videos as I have on this channel, there is probably a video that goes with any exam any student takes. Hope you do well on the exam.

Ich habe eine frage bitte. I am new to German, 157 days on Duolingo, and use your channel, a few others, and a German/ English dictionary to have a wider understanding of the language. (As per your recommendation in a previous video,) My question is this: How common is it to use just bar vs. bargeld, Karte vs. Kreditkarte in both conversations and in writing?

In my experience they will always ask this everytime you are going to pay. After they scan all your items in the shop

You use it, when you need it or when you want to express either of them. Commonness of a word is no deciding factor of anything. Also bar and Bargeld are different word types and there are used differently. You cannot use them interchangeably. Karte and Kreditkarte works the same as in English -> card and credit card. When context is clear, you can use card, if not you need to specify the card as a credit card.
