You guys do an amazing job. I've been raising produce for sale for the last couple years now and I absolutely love it. Watching you guys pick the green beans by hand takes me back. My first job was picking green beans for a produce farmer when I was 11. The nostalgia is strong with this one. Keep doing what you're doing guys!
When I was a child in the 1970's I would drag the buckets for my mother at a small crops farm. When I got older I would get m own row. I was always allowed to keep 10% of what I made. I saved it and when I was in my twenties I was able to put a down payment on a house. Peas and beans and tomatoes and cucumber and zucchini were what I loved to pick. My little hands could work fast.
10 Generation Farmer Erik said you guys have a good channel, and he’s right.🤗 For the outside rows of vegetables on your carts, that experience dryer conditions, add a row of planters of just dirt as a border barrier. 💡
I don't think anyone can beat Callie's sweetest buh bye .... You should make hers the last one all the time. Start keeping extra ones to use when she is sleeping and edit it at the end. She is the biggest star of your awsome family.. she is adorable, bless her heart she has an adorable smile. I miss my daughter being at that age again.
Italian flat beans!!! My favorite to grow! I grow Roma II. If I wait till there is a little seed definition, they have a somewhat meaty flavor. So yummy! Steam in a scant amount of water, drain, add a little butter, garlic powder, onion flakes, salt and pepper and turn the heat back on until all the wet is gone. Everyone says they could make a meal of them! Yum! I wondered if growers planted bush beans or pole beans. Nice to see what you grow!
First off... I love "Italian Flat Beans"; Secondly, that is a really neat idea having viewers participate. If I can find a good farm hat and farm shit I will give it a try.
i grew them hugarian peppers once and they reached 4ft. tall and produced wheel barrow loads of both the sweet and hot varietys,, just loved them pickeled... great video
You need more followers. 😀 You guys are the real deal. Tired of hipster “farmers”. I cannot imagine the amount of hard work that goes into your massive farm. Just massive respect for you and your family. God bless from Collinsville, Texas ! 🇺🇸
Gord Fulton lol I could share that stuff, but I could find 15-20 channels who have already shared that info. I will give nuggets of wisdom sometimes 😉 you will just have to stick around to find them!

@@theveggieboys dude you guys are awesome,, i just wanna grow like ya';ll i'm kinda jealous
I loved picking peas when I was a kid but I didn’t have to pick them in the same amount as you or for as long. My maternal Gran parents had and extra garden and my maternal grandpas older brother and his wife had a huge garden. But still nothing like a farm. Respect ❤
Don't feel bad cause my peppers are slow growing this year. I save the rain water too water with. I was so surprised that the peppers my cousin gave me had chocolate peppers. My grandson eats them like apples everything but the stems. Thank you for sharing.
I love picking! Although watermelons are something I'd have to pass on these days, everything else I'll pick all day. I'll be paying for it the next day though Lol
Is it possible to have a birds eye view of the farm layout with the diffent vegetables and areas of planting...especially during planting and harvesting...just a thought
You've got to try this recipe of my mom's that uses Italian flat green beans! Chicken Vegetable Pilaf 1/4 c. Flour Seasoned salt 3 chicken breasts cubed 2 Tablespoons oil 2 c. Water 1 c. Uncooked long grain rice 1 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper 2 Tablespoons minced onion 2 stalks celery, sliced thin 2 chicken bouillon cubes 1 10 ounce package of frozen or fresh Italian green beans 2 tomatoes cut into wedges Toss chicken cubes in mixture of flour and seasoned salt Saute in the oil in a pan with a tight fitting lid. (Mom used a dutch oven, I think). Add water, rice, onion, celery and bullion cubes, bring to a simmer and stir well. Lay beans and tomato wedges on top and cover tightly. Continue simmering until rice is done. Probably 20-30 minutes. Stir lightly and serve. Really flavorful and the Italian green beans and tomato wedges just make it!
I just absolutely LOVE your store !! Please move to Michigan and open one up here Northern Lower Michigan. It would be a huge huge hit !! Thanks for the video 😊🌞
I love raw peas, the bigger the green peas the better. Omg I love those peas. I tried 3 seasons in a row, they never grew well. I tried different seeds, no luck. I gave up, but it is hard to find places that sell them fresh. Hahaha I love to pick peas, anytime, any day lol. Why do you hate peas??? I buy flat beans, they are flown to Montreal by plane, $2-$3 a pound....but worth every penny
I am really enjoying your channel. I have a good idea. Why not grow climbing peas and beans? When they are six feet tall you do not need to bend down to pick them. With all that straw, sawdust and cow poop, how come you are not building soil above your rocks.
Good Morning everybody...The cows got out, the cows made a mess, the cows did some damage...I hate picking peas... 😂🤣 REAL life here! Real, LIFE 😂 yes...run over the peas..THE BEST comment.. 😂😂
I mistakenly bought Hungarian wax pepper thinking they were sweet banana pepper. Then when I bit into one I learned that wax = hot. I learned my lesson that day, they maybe not be the hottest but for me a man of English and Danish stock it was more than hot enough. It was like when we had high school student from Norway. At a subway he had them put on jalinpo pepper (spelled wrong sue me) his eyes got huge and required several glasses of pop.
I love those Italian flat beans...I like the way you said that the local ethnic people like them. I'm ethnic as you can see, that was a nice choice of words. Thank you. Subbed 😊
Beans used to grow a lot ...name it French beans two types soft and hard corn . Hard hve red seed soft with light cream colored...handpick and hervest it two three times with the red seed
What variety of sugar snaps are those? Sugar Ann? Love how short they are. Ever try running them through the harvester? I'm a vegetable farmer in Central VT! Awesome channel!
ok. so three things. number one: I would like to send all you guys a new shirt, two: the beans aren't sticking to you maybe you are sticking to the beans. and third: beans...beans....beans!
Hi, I'm a local just found your channel recently. Were those peas bush varieties? I trellis mine and I never have the harvest from one plant like you show here. What varieties were they? Thanks!
Can you use the bean picker to pick peas? I have seen them say you can on the manufacturers website, but have not seen any videos of people using them for peas.
What state are you in? When I saw the rocks you had to "pick" it reminded me of when I lived in MN. It is was in the central part of the state near St. Cloud ever spring new rocks came up the frost turned them up. Jerry's was the name of where you could buy fresh veggies local.
