so that is the secret formula! I was looking for a way to find out weather the game ended in a draw or a win without knowing who won. I think this is it! But I guess it is 25 or more for a win
Yeah but This draw also a psychological win for Gukesh as he denied draw offer of Ding who had white pieces and it is assumed that if you start with white you are in slight advantage That's What Levy also realized and gave a title in that sense
Really didn’t understand why ding is making these draw....Game 5 was in his favour as well as this game also, can anyone tell me if all matches end in draw, what will be the final result?
@@LabibIronside-h7n Bro they are the Super GMs the advantage you are talking about is theoretical only Converting 0.6 advantage is really really a impossible task against Gukesh or any Other Strong GM i.e Hikaru It would have still ended in a draw in 80% of the cases if Gukesh made the right moves
The strategy may not be quite so obscure as Levy thinks. 1. There are more weapons to force a draw than there ever have been. 2. To win, a player needs to take some risk. 3. Ding is, in essence, communicating to Gukesh that if he wants the crown, he will need to take some risk. Maybe Ding is trying to frustrate Gukesh (and all the viewers) with all these draws. He legitimately does NOT seem interested in winning with the white pieces
I think Ding was worried about being blown out and this is the result. There's playing safe and whatever this is. It's incredibly frustrating to watch one guy play chess and one guy actively trying to *not* play chess.
@@Nightenstaff Solid chess doesn't mean you don't try to push in a relatively low risk position right? I don't mind the 2nd repetition today, I don't mind him bailing out in game 4 either bc in both case Gukesh was creating some serious counter play. But game 2, game 5 and especially the early draw offer today are just killing me @@
I agree. Gukesh is much stronger in classical, and Ding would feel more comfortable in rapid and blitz. I also think Ding has prepared his openings all year, and is more likely to get a good position from it. If he doesn’t then he’ll just play a draw and hope to find the advantage in the next game. I think it’s a good strategy albeit boring…
I believe this is part of Ding's strategy. He will only commit in a position where he feels there is a high chance of converting it. And I think his strategy is to take the match tied until the thirteenth and fourteenth rounds, respectively, where he will bring newer and sharper openings, trying to convert at all costs. Because, by winning in this scenario, at the end of the match, he would either have a lower chance of losing the last round, or he would simply win the last one. Thinking about what happened in the match against Nepo, it was a real rollercoaster of emotions. I think Ding doesn't want to feel that again. So he wants something more solid, calm. But if an advantageous position falls into his lap, then he will attack with everything. And we need to take the following into consideration. So far, Ding has proven that he can win with black, and he cannot lose with white. He has been in superior positions in all the games, including the one he lost. Perhaps this "loss of opportunities", although it has an aspect of saving mental energy from dedicating himself to complicated positions, may also be to give Gukesh more confidence in making more reckless moves, which happened a lot in this sixth round. Because Gukesh would not be punished for mistakes and would think that Ding would not take advantage of his mistakes or inaccuracies. But then Ding could surprise everyone by punishing him at any moment. I think Ding will win the match and keep the title.
There's a reason Ding is number 22 in the world, which makes him a low-tier GM. He's no where close to top-10, and even Hans is higher rated than him. Sure, he is more talented than you and I, but at the highest level, he's considered mediocre at best. It clearly shows in his playing: as Hikaru said in his recap of this game, Magnus would have won with white after move 17 against anyone in the world. That's how real champs play.
@@zb5775 Before the pandemic, Ding was top 3 in the world. Something happened to him, just like it happened to many other people after this tragic event. But hey, all his potential is still there. He hasn't been playing well lately, in fact, looking at the last few tournaments. But I believe he will keep the title. And well, if Gukesh is that good compared to him, since he is top 5 in the world, then he should win easily, right? That's what everyone imagines. 6 rounds so far and the tie remains. Against Nepo, with 6 matches, there were already 4 decisive games, with two wins for each and it was 3 to 3. On this occasion, he lost one less and won one less. And that's because against Nepo he was not in the best phase. Ding will win. I would bet 10 dollars against you and Gukesh.
@@zb5775This comment is borderline libelous. There’s a reason that 2700+ is considered to be “super GM” strength. He’s not a GM with a 2501 lifetime elo max. He’s the world champion! Per FIDE, Ding is the second highest rated player in rapids with 2776 ELO compared to Gukesh being the 46th at only 2654. In standard ratings, Gukesh has a 55 point ELO advantage. In the big picture, 55 points may not be meaningful, but 122 ELO could be. It is imaginable that Ding feels a strategic advantage to getting to the tie breaks! It is very frustrating that Ding is not playing a bit more aggressively. I am certainly no GM, much less a challenger, but it does seem that Ding has missed attacking opportunities that resulted in draws where I can imagine wins. Still, Gukesh is not walking all over the champion as some seemed to expect in pre-match commentary.

Fisher Random should be introduced for GM and IMs in the classical match. All sorts of openings have played already and there is no creativity left in the opening. In this game, approximately 20 moves were played just with opening preparation. Their creativity starts in middlegame where all theory has ended, and if someone hasn't memorized openings properly the opponent will get the advantage in the middlegame.
Magnus commented in a recap video somewhere else that Gukesh's best format is classical, my feeling is Ding is pushing to reach tiebreakers at all cost where he believes he has a significant advantage on Gukesh due to the faster time format
It's quite shocking to see that Ding has had 2-3 big chances as of now despite being the underdog!! The offbeat openings like the French and the London are really taking a toll on Gukesh :(
What is Ding waiting for, many thought he is patiently waiting for gukesh to over extend but now he is patient for no reason, Gukesh has made two mistaks in two games in a row but Ding is not even trying to fight on
What's the secret? Ding, like many others, believes he’s the favorite to win the tiebreaks, which puts the burden of taking risks on Gukesh. From a game-theoretic perspective, I think this is the right approach. But that doesn’t mean I’m not incredibly frustrated!
I think the strat of Ding is taking advantage of gukesh hunger to become a world champion.. he knew gukesh will try lots of things and force a lot of things to win a game and with a slight carelessness, an opportunity may pop up for Ding
Part of me wishes that Chess Championships move onto a more Chess 960 format or some variant of it (maybe players can choose the pieces starting position or maybe some snake draft to choose positions). That way chess would be more about skill and less about memorized opening prep. Maybe even bring some more interesting games
This recap perfectly summed up my thoughts. Ding is refusing to play and is making quick draws which is horrible to watch. I pray Gukesh wins with white so that Ding can play for wins with white.
This is from youtube policies: "RUclips doesn’t allow spam, scams, or other deceptive practices that take advantage of the RUclips community" And then again: "... using the title, thumbnails, description to trick users into believing the content is something it is not." (not allowed, ofc) What bothers me is that for most yt channels they do take these guidelines seriously. What Levy does on a regular basis wouldn't be normally allowed, but because he is so big (=profitable for the platform as well) then yt gives him a pass and here we are dealing with this really annoying (and borderline scammy) practice for years. NOT OKAY, RUclips
I was rooting for Ding as a person, for the amazing win of the title against Nepo, and because he was widely considered the underdog, but his style of not going into the games, esp. despite reaching positions with possibilities, is so anti-chess, that I am about to root against him. It`s a chess-style that doesn´t deserve the crown.
Ding is trying to avoid loss in any case possible, until he gets into one game where he will have surety of win and he will become as hero in the minds of people. OTHERWISE, he will drag gukesh into games will less time limit, where he will have better chances of winning.
Magnus is like THESE KIDZ DON'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY 😂 I already said they will play 8 to 10 matches for draw and then 2,3 matches will decide final points

I see Gotham has switched from Ding's gambit to GUKESH! gambit
Original Title : Gukesh Gukesh
He hasnt milked magnus in far too long, I feel one coming soon
The World Rapids is happening soon. So Magnus videos will come soon
The World Rapids is happening soon. So Magnus videos will come soon
It's like second game in a row where Ding could've won, but he forcfully tried to draw in a winning position...
Yapping ends at 22:35
Like you can do better
Ding is trying to get to the tiebreakers, where gukesh is at a disadvantage due to less time
22:35 levi took magnus name
Bro sounds like a parent disappointed by his children
Ding wants to go for draws and wants to go for tie breaker where Ding will be favourite. Gukesh needs to win and stop going to the tiebreakers
Gukesh summoned the Chinese dragon😂😂
10:39 the silent moment is so loud
0:36 Magnus mentioned!!!
I think the strat of Ding is taking advantage of gukesh hunger to become a world champion.. he knew gukesh will try lots of things and force a lot of things to win a game and with a slight carelessness, an opportunity may pop up for Ding
Its been one of the worst WCC in memory because Ding is playing it like a clown.
Ding is so humble even he get well satisfied and happy by draws😂
Part of me wishes that Chess Championships move onto a more Chess 960 format or some variant of it (maybe players can choose the pieces starting position or maybe some snake draft to choose positions). That way chess would be more about skill and less about memorized opening prep. Maybe even bring some more interesting games
0:37 Magnus mentioned
Levy when Magnus is mentioned: 🤤
It is 0:21
🗣🗣🔥🔥
You think he can make an episode without the M words?
The commentry at Take take take was awesome, watch it all!
Levy really appreciate your quick recap
This recap perfectly summed up my thoughts. Ding is refusing to play and is making quick draws which is horrible to watch. I pray Gukesh wins with white so that Ding can play for wins with white.
Day 2 of requesting Levy to release me and the other kids trapped in his basement🙏
Fr??? 😅😂
Atleast he is giving you internet access 🤣
This is from youtube policies: "RUclips doesn’t allow spam, scams, or other deceptive practices that take advantage of the RUclips community"
And then again: "... using the title, thumbnails, description to trick users into believing the content is something it is not." (not allowed, ofc)
What bothers me is that for most yt channels they do take these guidelines seriously. What Levy does on a regular basis wouldn't be normally allowed, but because he is so big (=profitable for the platform as well) then yt gives him a pass and here we are dealing with this really annoying (and borderline scammy) practice for years. NOT OKAY, RUclips
I think you should go outside and breathe some air.
@GothamChess I do it, Levy. Don't worry
Levy never fails to milk Gukesh
I never fail to milk you
@@VeryCuriousGuy Imagine milking Stalin
don't read My Name}} 😅❤..
And he sells that well.
And people buy that too much.
Milk is good for the bones 🦾
Ding`s plan is to draw everything including rapid and blitz and win a championship in a bullet game
Spoiler Block 🚫
Magnus is like THESE KIDZ DON'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY 😂
I already said they will play 8 to 10 matches for draw and then 2,3 matches will decide final points
Honestly, was extremely surprised with the result of this math.
Gukesh outright REJECTING the draw, and all the great moves and mistakes... such a good Game 6 of the wcc
No matter who wins, i feel like this is gonna be a good wcc
That's the biggest problem with high level chess. No one plays to win. Everyone plays to not loose
Spoiler Blocker! 🛡️🛡️
Gukesh🇮🇳 love from India 🇮🇳❣️
He be milking Gukesh next💀😭🙏
Bro if you don't like it don't watch it. Not all of us want to see a chess game in 6 hours levy makes it entertaining aswell as covers what happens
@@posiedon7506he can say his opinion just like you. ik it's a wild Idea but two people can like and dislike two different things as well as share their opinions or make dumb jokes. not everything has to be so serious, stop being offended like a Karen over nothing but a brain rot comment, people are just having fun here.
I didn't even say I don't like it...
Ding is so polite and so humble that he even dont want to defeat Gukesh early and giving him chances😂
1:25 yapping stops
The kids UK-side don’t say yapping they say you’re waffling Levi! ;) thanks for all the great work you’re doing it’s much appreciated :)
Since no one's telling when the yapping stops 1:12
Nah, bro never stopped talking😭😭
I clicked and still got yapped😡
Not a boring draw by any means. Ding out prepared gukesh and in the end gukesh pushed it unlike ding in the previous match which kept us in the edge of our seat. Gukesh ambitious and ding is still chilling 😂😂😂😂
Fantastic GAME between two GENTLEMEN! As always, W analysis!
0.5 is not a winning advantage, that's why a draw was expected. Overall, this game was very well played. It's unusual to see Gukesh attempting some attacks! Wow, what a beautiful play, and Ding waiting for the Queen trade earlier to either get a great position or prepare for draw. RESPECT TO BOTH OF THEM!
It's not a winning advantage but it's enough to try to fight on, In the last two games Ding had a chance to fight on but just draw it without even trying
I miss the days of great world champions such as tal and fisher we truly didn't know how good their era was. Back when the champions played to dominate not just win
Classical chess is painfully boring to follow, and i’m tired to pretend otherwise.
I thought Ding has won when I saw the title! :))
I THINK THESE TWO GUYS ARE GONNA WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP TOGETHER
????
Sure they are gonna draw all 3+2 games and this championship will never end
Power of Friendship 😝
There are playoffs to break the tie.
Gukesh will forefit last game and give the chinese a win on a silver platter
I'm pretty certain that enough money changed hands for that to be the case
Its the desk slam for me at 20 minutes 🎉😂
With his performance over the last 10/11 months Ding doesn’t deserve to be the WC, that being said, he’s going to draw every game he can in order to better his chances of winning or taking gukesh into the tie breaks
As a software developer, I can confidently say it isn't easy to make a website like chessly from scratch
