    My daughter and I used this to do our own and love the results. We both chose our own scriptures and they turned out great. I did a scripture on the Sabbath (Ex 31:17) and was able to write "Day of Rest" and she did Psalm 115:13 and used the letters to spell "Fear God". So easy for beginners and fun for all. Great way to meditate, relax and have fun. Thank you.

    Thinking about starting to Bible journal. Love the look of it but wonder about the scripture which gets covered up with the rub ones.

      Everyone has their own style so it is totally whatever you are comfortable with. Pray about it and go with the leasing of the Holy Spirit. This Bible is one of my “art” bibles...meaning (for me) it isn’t intended for sitting down and reading and studying. It’s meant for art. I have other bibles that are reading/studying bibles. If you are interested in Bible journaling and want more space, look into an “interleaved” bible. They have a full blank page across from every full page of scripture so you have room to “art” without covering any words at all if choose not to. I hope this helps!!

      You could also do the Bible Journaling in a notebook (blank pages or art paper. Purchased or homemade).You could print the scripture or hand letter it and then decorate the pages. I've done that until I work out how I feel about decorating in the Bible.

      I have a separate Bible that I don't journal in so I always have it to read from. Also, I might print out a particular verse from that page and add it as a tip in.

      Most people that Bible journal (art) aren’t using the Bible that they’re Bible journaling in as their main Bible. Most have at least 2. One to journal in and another to read from. I use an interleaved Bible that has a blank page front and back after a page of scripture front and back to art journal in. I have quite a few Bibles, though.

      Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! This is what is known as a "journaling bible" so it's purpose is creative worship and not for studying/reading. Just like any other form of worship the kind of worship (ie covering the words/not covering the words, etc) is personal choice between the worshiper and God. My current favorite bible for studying is the She Reads Truth Bible!

    • @carolynbrown4112
      @carolynbrown4112 3 года назад +2

      @@TheCreativeLifeStudios Thanks for clarifying! I thought the purpose of the Bible was for reading the words! ...But if your Bible is just meant for "artwork" and not for reading, I suppose it works!!
      I still think you can do both?!! Beautiful art while still leaving the words visible for reading!
      Just a thought! 🤔

    • @TheCreativeLifeStudios
      @TheCreativeLifeStudios  Год назад

      I actually recommend against using modpodge in a your bible. Because it is both an adhesive and sealer, it can cause pages to stick together if a book that is closed for too long, particularly in high humidity. I recommend using a clear gesso or a matte gel medium instead. :)

    Beautiful page, thank you! One question... over a year ago, I used a cheap crayola child's watercolor set. It is still gritty/dusty to the feel and comes off on my hand, STILL! Someone told me it was because I used cheap paint and shouldn't. So you agree? Do cheap acrylics work better? Does your page feel that way?

    • @TheCreativeLifeStudios
      @TheCreativeLifeStudios  3 года назад +1

      That is definitely weird. I use a WIDE variety of medium...cheap to more expensive. I personally don’t agree with the “don’t use cheap paint” point of view because I never want money to keep people from creatively worshiping. I can’t answer why your watercolor would still be lifting after so long...I have never had watercolor do that...cheap or expensive. I would honestly say it was potentially a manufacturing error with the paints. Another thing is just making sure you are adding enough water to any watercolors to allow the paint particles to disperse more in the water. I hope this helps! 😬

    • @desertcat3
      @desertcat3 2 года назад

      I recently watched a video from Linseydecor mentioning this. She used I believe a less expensive brand from Michaels. In the video it had a chalky feeling after it dried so she wiped it down with a napkin, it does smear but it gave it a nice look. So the goal is to remove the excess so it won't transfer too much to the next page when closed.

    How do you keep page from buckling ?

    • @TheCreativeLifeStudios
      @TheCreativeLifeStudios  Год назад

      They do buckle a little bit no matter what, but the biggest tip I can give you is to work in small layers and use a craft heat gun to dry it as you go so that the page doesn't get super saturated. I also find that if I put a piece of plastic behind it (like a thin piece of acetate) that my page sticks to it just a bit and doesn't wrinkle as bad. I have seen people iron their pages...never done that or probably will ever do that. LOL. (Also remember that some wrinkles with naturally flatten as the book is closed. :) )

    Studying scripture aids in understanding and personal growth. Psalm 119:11 highlights the importance of storing God's word in one's heart. Crafts are fun. I am curious how you study your Bible when you cover the words of scripture? It seems that this would be better in a Bible journal instead of the actual Bible. Notes and highlights and transparent colors make it to where you can actually see scripture. Covering up the words in the Bible can hinder the direct engagement and understanding of its teachings. I would encourage you to leave open access to the text to allow for a deeper connection with the message and it facilitates meaningful study that way. The page you covered is of no use to study now?

    • @TheCreativeLifeStudios

      Hey there! Thanks for your question!
      The Bibles I use in my Bible journaling are specifically designed to create faith art in. I have a different set of Bibles that are my reading/studying Bibles. In those…yes I will highlight and take notes but in a more traditional format and not an “artistic” way. I hope this answers your question!

    I just found you. Love this. I’m new to the this way of Bible journaling. So glad to find your video, I want to try it out, but I don’t want to spend a ton while I figure out if it’s something I will enjoy. What Bible are you using if I may ask?

      Hey there!! So have a few that I work in but this one is an Single Column Journaling Bible from Crossway. It is probably the most popular and most easily accessible version.
      And is one of the least expensive you can buy (less than $40)
      Here is a link to this exact bible I am using but there are loads of options for buying it (Lifeway, Christianbooks, Amazon... just to name a few. I hope this helps! Please feel free to ask any other questions. I would love to help on your journey

      Another great option if you want to start but don’t want to purchase a full bible, Christianbooks has these AMAZING things called “Scripture Notebooks” where it’s a single book of the Bible and it is designed interleaved (meaning it has a full empty page opposite every page of scripture.) and the best part... they are only $6/each and are currently on Sale for only $4/each. It’s a great way to start without a giant investment
      Here’s where you can find those:
